  1. With Cena, he did have that build up of the various feuds/mid card run then eventual win of the contenders stuff for WM. I think people only started to boo him because: A) his only real test [and title win] was JBL, B) because one of his first fueds was with a hugely popular Christian [at the time anyway] which Cena won, and then him being put over guys like Angle/Triple H and so on, that you couldn't image him beating, at that particular time. BUT Cena eventually improved and won most people over.

On Roman, he just got super-pushed into our faces, skipping the mid card run, and we were pretty much expected to believe he could beat the [kayfabe] most unstopable wrestler of all time, Brock Lesner. Roman does have something about him, but I feel WWE, and him to be fair, are yet to fully realise and use whatever that is.

  2. I would say its more the "Cena-Effect" now, where as people boo him because its seemingly cool to do that.

People started booing Cena because he wasn't booked correctly, and was being put over people that fans couldn't see happening in a kayfabe sense. Years later, Cena has improved 10-fold and has been one of the better guys on the roster for years, but people still boo the shit out of him.

Same thing with Roman, because he is good in the ring, and has had a fair few decent matches in his time so far, but its a cross between people feeling insulted with WWE saying "this is the guy you like, because we're having him win EVERYTHING now", when it didn't seem natural AND that now it's just "cool" to boo him.

I would only say to turn Roman heel to get a better babyface run out of him in the long term.

  3. His original "gradual" push wasn't that bad, with decent fueds/matches with Orton. I think what tipped fans over the edge was his slammy win for Superstar of the year, (despite being off for 6 months), then his MEGA-push to win the rumble, when by that point nobody gave a real toss about him. That and the rumble was gash that year AND nobody in their right mind though he could beat Lesner, as Brock was (Kafabe) above everybody else by that point.

If they'd have given him a decent slow-burn fued, and then a mid-card title run first, people might have more receptive. Maybe have had him be the one to beat Rusev for the US title that year.

  4. Anybody have any idea what the top ROH talent is on, in terms of a guarantee? Just wanted to get some kind of comparison between a Mike Bennett in TNA and say a Jay Lethal or Jay Briscoe in ROH.

I couldn't give an official figure, but apparently ROH are able to make "competitive" offers to talents these days. I might be wrong but I believe they can match/offer better money that TNA did in the past couple of years. I might be wrong but the Briscoe's turned down a WWE deal in 2015 due to the ROH offer being higher, and WWE not wanting to match it.

That plus they deals they have with New Japan, CMLL and PWG are probably pretty good as well. Bennett/Moose only left ROH because TNA offered them silly money I believe.

    EDIT:

    Also this -

It looks like former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio will not be coming into TNA. With John Gaburick no longer working a prominent role in creative, the push to bring Del Rio in is over.

Del Rio was actually scheduled to appear at the recent set of Impact Wrestling tapings but the decision was made to hold his debut off until the March tapings, which begin this week. However, word going around is that the debut will not be happening. TNA had been talking with Del Rio going back to the fall of 2016.
  5. The ROH DVD's might be worth something, if they are original copies, (featuring the old logo) as there are some big fans who want the original copies.

As for WWE/WWF, with the network coming in, I think it's reduced the price you'd get for them. I'd say check ebay/CEX and places like music magpie to see what you'd get on the quick. you might get more selling them privately to collectors but it won't be much I'd expect.

  6. You'd be best to take some time to yourself and work this all out on your own mate.

Sometimes things are worth working out, and other not, but its only really you that knows the real answer. For what it's worth, don't base any decision you make on your daughter, as it's unfair to be doing anything basically only for her sake. As a kid who lived in a broken relationship, it sucks and it takes time to work out, but I'm much happier in the knowledge my parents are happy in themselves now, than when they were together.

I would say: Step 1) sort your drinking out, Step 2) take some time, maybe a week or two alone, to really work out what you think is best.

  7. Bloody hell, that sounds like a right mess you've got there.

Personally, and this might not be the popular choice, I would recommend focusing on your alcohol issues first, and then seeing where you stand. Like it might not be as bad as it reads above, but you can't keep making a mess of your life, (which then clearly effects others), because of the drink.

As for the relationship stuff, when you've tackled your drinking issues, really weigh it up. Is there a reason to leave you current GF other than "I also like the other girl?" If you still love her, then why ruin a good thing?

I can only really say you're a lucky bastard to have 2 women willing to take you on, all things considered, and I mean that in the nicest way possible as well.

  8. Possibly a stupid question, does it cost more to build in London? With that sort of money you could build a couple of decent houses and makes your money back easily enough. That being said I suppose it's not exactly brimming with the space to do it.

  9. Fair enough then, I know its not always as easier as you might think, but honestly that amount of money for a house that size has seriously shocked me. I knew it was more expensive in London, but bloody hell.

  10. Holy shat, that is NUTS. I dare say you could get a bloody mansion up my way for that amount.

Tell them to sell up and move. I know for 400K less than that, you can a 5 bedroom house in my town, including massive garden and everything. Crikey.

  11.

Has it been discussed how weird that Fastlane main event feels whenever they show the graphic of Goldberg vs. Kevin Owens? That pairing feels so crazy. Even a few years ago you would have never imagined that Kevin Steen and Goldberg would be headlining a WWE pay per view for the title.

It's a contender for the maddest match they've ever booked. I am struggling to think of anything that even compares. CM Punk vs Kevin Nash was similar but it wasn't the main event, wasn't for the title, Nash hadn't been out in the cold as long as Goldberg has and Punk was always more fancied to become a WWE star than Kevin Steen.

That match didn't happen did it?

  12.

You should definitely check on the tax. I forget the exact figure but in probate there's a number of years prior to death (seven years I think) in which it's checked if large sums have been passed to a relative to avoid inheritance tax.

How they check is another matter of course.

Yeah, it's seven years. My family had to check this out, as my parents are now having to consider signing over the house to me and my sisters; because of the sheer insanity of the London property market, the house they bought for quite cheap back in 1980 is now worth something absolutely ridiculous, and as such, if they leave it to us in their wills, we could be hit with a tax bill that forces us to sell our family home.

That is legitimately nuts, I never knew the tax would be that high. Is it due to the value of the house or does something else factor into it?

If it keeps going on like this, then money/houses/whatever else will start being handed over prior to people passing away, to save people money, as you are doing Carbomb. It's not a new idea, but I know of a few people who had have their "inheritance" early, because of something similar to this.

On this subject, my parents aren't anywhere near that age (I'm 29 this year, my dad is 47 this year), but he out right told me recently he's written a will and left it all to me [i'm his only child], which has highly scrambled my brain. Like it's flattering that he trusts me with his stuff (house/whatever else) when he passes on, but its also saying "I'm going to die at some point" which isn't something I'd come anywhere near thinking of about my parents.

  13. Wasn't AJ world champion there when one of his previous contracts expired? I know there was one guy who they didn't know wasn't under contract until he didn't turn up for work (James Storm maybe?).

Galloway being the grand champion and Hardy's being tag champs would just be another blow if they leave/vacate the titles. They would be crazy not to throw money at the Hardy's at the moment. But part of me would love to see them in WWE. Hopefully Galloway turns up in WWE soon also.

Might be time to pull the trigger on the rumored GFW replacement of TNA.
