  1. There's no need to do it to everyone though. There doesn't seem much financial benefit in signing people to long term deals in an already crowded roster just for the added bonuses that they could make an action figure (many of whom are in the clearance aisles of stores) and include them in a video game.

Going by recent photos Chris Hero is not in wrestling shape at all. He's always been a fat fucker but these days he looks like he'd struggle to run the ropes.

I've only going by his instagram but photos on there from November he's no bigger than his NXT run? Probably not much more overweight than Eddie Kingston.

  3. I think there would actually be a lot to be said for AEW trying to sign some guys to shorter deals or a pay per appearance type thing which isn't exclusive.

Impact don't have the audience or finances to lock anyone down long term and poach anyone away from AEW in those circumstances.

If people came into AEW on those types of deals and things were working out they could always look at re-negotiating things for a more permanent deal. The performers themselves may be less interested in going back to the more turbulent world of WWE.

At the moment theres a good number of guys contracted to AEW on decent money not doing very much at all and unlikely to make a huge impact.

Cesaro would be a fun guy to come in and have short programmes with a few of the guys there but not to be around on a 3 year deal having 3 minute matches on Dark against Serpentico in 4 months time.

  4. Ah yes Kid "well its not illegal" Fite.

A message saying you want to "teach you all the sex" to a 16 year old girl as you urge her not to tell her parents is pretty predatory stuff regardless of legality really isn't it. Add in the allegation that he was her trainer at the time and in a position of power and influence over her and it's even more so.

Always thought he seemed like a bell end and neither the incident nor the non apology did anything to convince me otherwise.

It didn't. It made them look like a bunch of absolute fucking dweebs who couldn't really handle being challenged.

Maybe Louis' money no longer folds, and now jiggle jiggles :(

I felt the whole episode was a bit of a let down and a missed opportunity really.

The ever increasing growth in support for right wing ideology across the west is extremely concerning but I think something done about people who were maybe a little smarter in hiding their motives and true colours might have made more impact into how potentially otherwise reasonable people may be falling into those paths.

All 3 "main" guys featured in it were absolute gimps and no person with even a hint of a brain could look at them and think "yeah they make some really great points". Their audiences also seemed absolutely miniscule. The rally type thing with Fuentes had 300 people there and the streamer had an audience of 300.

Fuentes claiming to be a millionaire whilst doing 4 hour live streams in his Mums basement.

I'd have liked to have seen Louis ask Fuentes how far back his family had been present in the US as he was spouting his zero immigration shite.

  6. Due to the 5pm start I was able to watch this live with my nearly 5 year old son and its amazing to get to see his perspective through the eyes of a child in comparison to my near constant pessimism.

His favourites...Brock Lesnar, Austin Theory, AJ Styles...then Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. 😄

I thought Lita looked brilliant in her match would love it if she had a few more occasional matches.

Drew McIntyre is absolute dog shit and how anyone thinks otherwise is beyond me.

Austin Theory sells like the animation of a 2008 WWE video game.

The Viking Raiders walking to the ring beating their chest shouting "RAID" repeatedly was cringeworthy to watch.

They are potatoes but made from kebab meat.

A chippy near me in Cov did roast potatoes but that was in County Coundon and knew it’s clientele were friends of potatoes.

Popeyes in Cov used to and may still do "spicy" potatoes. Similar to roasties with a fried spicy coating similar to spicy wedges.

    Reccomended.

  8. This could just be nothing more than a situation where everything works for everyone involved.

Tony Khan has came out and said they can't renew everyone's deals because of how many people they're bringing in. As good as Cody was at the beginning he's went stale in AEW and has been eclipsed by additions such as Moxley, Punk & Bryan.

WWE are crying out for some star power. It might not work out for Cody back in WWE but there's money to be made there if it's done right (yes we all know it almost certainly wont be).

I always sort of felt with Cody that leaving WWE was more about going elsewhere and trying to show he *could* be a big star and a needle mover, for a period of time he was as well. He's not somebody I thought would never be back and it's a chance for him and Brandi to go and start again because they were really struggling in AEW recently.

  9. I don't doubt he's a great guy and no doubt brilliant at everything else he does but his jumping about dressed like an idiot making hand signs routine is brutal especially if he's not a heel's mouthpiece.

Regarding the Brandi segment from last weeks show, it was utterly bizarre. She clearly was saying things to get a heel reaction but also looked really rattled by the crowd reaction almost as though it was the realisation/confusion at just how eager they are to dislike her despite her thinking in her own head that shes a face and not understanding why shes so disliked.

If we're getting Brandi vs an MMA fighter with zero pro wrestling experience that match could be a real spectacle and not in a positive way.

  10. Alex Abrahantes is dreadful, every time he's hanging around with Penta and jumping about in his tracksuit and leather gloves he looks absolutely daft especially when he's about 45 and looks like a geography teacher.

I can only hope they turn Penta into a ruthless heel soon and he absolutely destroys Abrahantes to kick things off.

  11. Brock Anderson is far too green to be getting match time on Rampage. He gives me serious David Flair vibes every time I see him.

Big fan however of Jade Cargill aka Girlberg and her streak building further. I hope they keep that going for a long time and don't rush into anyone beating her.

  12. A few years ago now I was going on holiday with my wife to Italy when we got caught in really bad traffic on the way for the train to the airport. We ended up needing to bail out of the taxi and pretty much jog around 2 miles with our cases where we barely made it in time with the train on the platform already as we arrived.

The sacrifice I paid for making the train in time however was passing up a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and ask Warwick Davis for a photo. He was standing outside a hotel next to the station as we jogged around the corner and as a lifelong Star Wars fan I was desperate to stop and ask but didn't have a second to.

More likely they’re scared that Ronda will be exposed as an absolute idiot on social media during the build, which she is.

Becky annihilated her in that field last time round, and she’d absolutely do it again

That and I wouldn't put it past Rousey to juat suddenly decide to start shooting on Becky especially if in the run up Becky works her on twitter and the lunatic is unable to differentiate between wrestlers building a buzz around their Wrestlemania match and genuine aggro.

At least with an extra set of hands in there it's a little more protection as the reality is if Rousey decides just to snap Becky's arm in half then fuck off she will do.

I think they try to promote him as the face of the company, and he likes to think he's the face of the company, but I don't think many people outside of that circle view him as such. I don't remember rolling my eyes and saying "here we go again" whenever Austin would come to the ring as the face of WWE back in the late 90s.

How a fan receives it and how it's pushed are very different though. I never connected with Austin and never really understood what all the fuss was about. I was the same as a kid with Hogan when all my mates at primary school loved him I thought he was fucking tedious. That doesn't change the fact they were pushed as the faces of the company in those two era's though.

How many people through a large chunk of Cena's career were doing exactly what you've described and rolled their eyes saying "here we go again" as he was wheeled out and rammed down the audiences throat?

    Pre heel turn Roman Reigns?

Cody definitely is presented by AEW as one of, if not THE face of the company. Fans may prefer other wrestlers and there may be names in the company who to the majority are seen as bigger stars but that doesn't change the way he is presented, only how he is received by some.

As others have said he has a reality TV show, is a judge on a talent show with Snoop Dogg, he had the big celeb match with Shaq, he has the big entrance, they even did a fucking pregnancy reveal segment haha

The biggest irony with Cody is that he's essentially became what he was supposed to stand against and is now their HHH from the era he was near exclusively disliked and not in the manner he wished or intended.

If that was something they had planned it would be absolute genius but sadly it is not.

  15. Sadly footballers and celebrities have been getting away with this for decades and its unlikely to ever stop.

Gordon Strachan said before there are no morals in football and he's absolutely correct.

We have a convicted rapist playing for a Championship club.

On the cusp of Rangers signing Aaron Ramsey today Ally McCoist's first thought was to say it was their biggest signing since Gazza.

A day after the allegations regarding Mason Greenwood he can't go without comparing their new signing to another alleged domestic abuser. That's how normalised and accepted it is.

  16. In an industry absolutely stuffed full of people with fragile ego's coupled with taking themselves way too seriously, Ronda Rousey may be at the absolute top of the pile.

Her first time around she felt like a megastar in WWE but in my opinion it was clear there were serious issues with her not being willing to do business, never more clearly highlighted than when she dropped the title to Becky Lynch with her shoulder clearly up.

I don't think she is whatsoever tailored to handle anything other than adulation from the fanbase, particularly when she's taking time away from her family and newborn child to be there so I would be astonished if she lasts past the RAW after Mania.

A horrible dusty finish there because she's too insecure to be seen to lose in a pretend fight then she will fuck off either for good or until she needs another payday.

  17. I haven't watched any WWE in probably approaching 2 years but the Rumble has always been my favourite and a Saturday night meant I could get up without it absolutely fucking me for work so I'd been looking forward to it for a while.

    What a let down, honestly.

The opener was a really promising start, the last I had seen Rollins he was insufferable but he was brilliant here and it felt like something different, imaginative and not the WWE I was used to. Then came the DQ finish which have others have said seemed to have left the crowd so fucked off it set the tone for the rest of the night.

I'm sorry but the womens Rumble was dreadful. Full of surprise returns who were near immediately eliminated, botched spots, weak looking offense and selling. Did it elevate a single person in it? Rousey looked every single bit like she was contractually obliged to be there and even Charlotte's elimination was dreadful.

    Women's title match was fine.

The big problem with Lesnar/Lashley is that after a 20 year build it ended in such a shite way AND the moment that happened it killed my optimism for the Rumble because I absolutely knew Lesnar was now going to be in and win it.

The rumble itself was not great. Guys like Boogs and Madcap Moss genuinely looked like video game CAW's you are made to face in early stages of career mode's on wrestling games.

Orton coming out to a huge hometown reaction to get unceremoniously eliminated again was just odd. Why not have him break up the middle stretch of rubbish and have him do something meaningful to have actually give him and the crowd some moments and even build something for Mania?

It has not left with me with any desire to watch Wrestlemania let alone to check out RAW and I genuinely wonder who is still watching this shit weekly.

  18. I remember when he talked directly about it I believe in a promo and he said along the lines of "I wear a lot of brands but never my own and that's why I decided to change that".

Made absolutely no sense as at the time he was wearing and shilling his own T-shirt's weekly but the big difference was his Louboutin shoes and Gucci belt aren't tattooed around his fucking neck.

  19. Just seen Cody's promo from last weeks Dynamite. It is just so confusing to me.

There are so many odd parts of it though, especially when he says "people have been telling me to save this promo". I understand everyone knows wrestling is a big pre planned circus but fucking hell.

The entire promo seemed to make absolutely no sense whilst he rambled on going off at a tangent about numerous seemingly random topics with no identifiable links to each other, including but not limited to - I wont ever turn heel because you guys cheered me when I needed it, CM Punks pipe bomb was brilliant wasnt it, see how I said it was brilliant well actually it was shit because he didnt do anything he said but I was in NJPW and ROH, me and Ricky Starks are really good mates in real life, Brody King is good aint he but its shite to come into a company where someone else had the name Brodie and he died thats not on really, at the same time though we didnt change his name because WWE does that and they're shit arent they, titles that dont say World in them are secondary...but not this one...but this one is secondary because there's two of them, Sammy lets have a ladder match.

When those people said save that promo I think maybe that was their polite way of saying dont do it at all.

He makes a point about saying he wont turn heel but 90% of it is exactly what a heel would say.

He's gotten to a point where I think people have lost so much interest in him that I don't see what direction he can move in. That promo wad met with 90% absolute silence with the occasional heckle and one guy shouting "stfu" throughout.

If he now turns heel I doubt many people care as he's strayed so far into X Pac heat territory where people aren't booing because they dont like what his character is doing, they just cannot be fucked with him. If he stays face its just going to get increasingly awkward for him as he comes out and rambles to progressively lesser reactions of any sort.
