  1. Aye, he was brilliant in Homicide.  Him and young Andre Braugher made that show. Weird its never cropped up/replayed on the likes of Sky Atlantic, as it really was excellent.

  2. Nah, Cornette still sounds like a human being with real emotions etc. JR in 2021 sounds like a depressed southern cyborg hoping for nuclear war and has no place on TV. He is only a detriment to whatever is being presented.

  3. He's never really had any sort of sustained run as a babyface champion either has he? he was injured pretty quick after the big Mania win (think his only title feud was against business Kane) and was then slotted into that nothing IC title level til he was forced to retire. Then the eco warrior heel champ run.

  4. My name is Ciaran (Kieran in UK speak) and my ex fiance was American living in Boston. So I spent a fair whack of our 4 years travelling over there on the cheapest flights I could scavenge, usually ending up in Atlanta via Amsterdam and connecting on to Boston or Hartford on various shite US airlines, or into Providence thanks to Norwegian air, which was like flying on Ryanair across the Atlantic. It was hilarious when the US airline staff would butcher my name as they'd inevitably pronounce it as 'Syrian', which got me awful dirty looks from my more elderly or Southern co- passengers. Was less hilarious when the scary, USA flag patch wearing armed border lads would pronounce it and do a double take.

  5. Wonder will WWE include the fairly awful footage of them slagging Molly off for having a big arse, being ugly and generally not being a blonde fake tit merchant (which Lawler clearly enjoyed doing on commentary in 02/03) in her HOF promo package.

Heat on Channel 4 always felt more like a Raw & Smackdown recap show, but with a couple of mediocre squash matches thrown in.

It wasn't as bad as those shows where Scott Stanford or Wilson Phillips stands in front of a monitor and talks us through the previous week's TV while shilling the upcoming PPV.

The US version of heat from 01 onwards was Tazz and some annoying, frosted tipped MTV lad hosting in WWF New York with different wrestlers popping in every week and doing commentary on the taped matches. The C4 one never got any of that and was just the recap show really, though they used to have things like behind the scenes of the video game ad or that type of stuff which wasn't on Raw or Smackdown. Channel 4 used to show it at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon, remember arguing with my nana to let me watch it instead of her usual 'Take the High Road' or whatever when I'd be sent round to hers for dinner.

  7. I don't watch AEW regularly cos the combo of Bucks, Cody & Jericho annoys me too much, but that was hilariously shite. Christian (who was a pedestrian in one of the least star power Royal Rumble's in years) is the big signing with his crappy TNA music and surname, JR sounding/looking like death warmed up on commentary and the ridiculous finish to that exploding barbed wire ring match. Proper WrestleCrap stuff. Why book such a match if you aren't willing to make it look at least a bit dangerous? Kane's pyro is more devastating looking!

Only upside of Edge's crap return to WWE was the inevitable tag team re-union with Christian and that's fecked now. Hopefully he's making a decent few quid out of Khan at least.

I've not watched Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories in years. The Player Haters' Ball is a classic as well.

Just been channel hopping and Colin Murray is presenting Countdown at the moment. I didn't realise Nick Hewer had left. I knew Ann Robinson was taking over at some point though.

I finished Still Game. Really good show. Need to find another sitcom to crack on with now I think. Is Seinfeld still on Prime so I can finish that off?

I watched all of Still Game when I had to isolate for two weeks in January. Really enjoyed it (it did drop off a bit from series 5 onwards) and have introduced it to my da and my best friend and his da too. Winston was my favourite & is an amazing character with the best lines/stories I think, Tam a close second. Finale was quite sad too, but well done all the same.

  9. What was the story with Fiona Cooper vids? all low enough quality shot in a random house in the 90s/early 00's. Mainly solo stuff with actresses who went onto have a decent run in Brit porn. The odd video has a average looking lad riding a few of the ladies, these never seem to have a money shot either. Was a rake of them on the tube sites for a while but most have been taken down due to copyright etc. Remember a few with Tia Layne and Rebecca Jane Smythe and the likes. Did that lad  just win the lotto and decide to become a porn baron for a while?

  10. Di Biase the younger was smooth as fuck in the ring and looked confident enough whenever he had to cut a promo, I don't think he was that arsed with wrestling though. Pity as he had far more ability than that insufferable Cody Rhodes gobshite. Ted's first 'Priceless' theme was class too.

I thought auld Maven from original Tough Enough would catch on too, looking back now I don't know why. He was bland as fuck.

  11. Buying a coffee before getting on the bus to work, then remembering I can't take my mask off to drink it until I get off and its gone cold and manky. The habit from pre-covid times is just too strong.

  12. Big Show, Young Bucks, Cody & Jericho all in the one company. More reasons not to watch!

Nah, but fair play to Show. I'd say he negotiated himself a good deal and he gets to abandon mad Vince's shiteshow of a company after 20 odd years of mainly shite booking. New Years baby Show was unforgivable!

  13. WWE is septic without the fans there live, so I don't particularly care what happens at Mania this year, same as last years. Hopefully Bryan sticks it out another year without injury and we get him vs his auld pal John boy in a retirement match or something good next Mania with non TV screen fans actually in the building.

Also, McIntyre was dull as fuck as champ, so I don't see Miz as being a particularly big step down. It's not Jinder level shite at least, plus Miz will probably lose it back tonight anyway. You can just hear Cole and the clones bellowing 'Anything can happen on Raw!' as nobody fucking cares.

Also, at least it will annoy Punk if Miz gets to main event another Mania!

  14. My late (conman) uncle was promoting a 'Great Irish Famine' remembrance concert in the mid 90's and our Taoiseach/PM at the time Bertie Ahern and Prince Charles did a photo op at his offices. My ma worked there and as it was the summer and I was off school, I was knocking about annoying everyone too. I didn't know who Prince Charles was and remember being unimpressed by his mumbled greetings to everyone. His security lads were good craic though and chatted away to me about football while they were hanging around. Wouldn't answer my question if they had and if I could see their guns though. I think The Corrs were there too as the uncle had managed to rope them in as well somehow.

  15. The  big reveal tension of who might've twatted Stone Cold with their rental car is quickly broke when the dulcet tones of  ' I'm an ass-man, dun dun' ring out in the arena. The name plate graphic announcing 'Mr.Ass' doesn't help much either!

  16. Is Lacey not any use? I don't watch the womens stuff aside from the big matches at Mania & the Rumble, but I saw a Youtube vid of her a while back leading a class at the performance center or somewhere and acting like Triple H during his appearance on the original Tough Enough back in the day. so assumed she was decent.

  17. Auld Bryan must be in with a shout. Made fun of constantly by Cole/Vince on NXT and jobbed to duds like Tarver and Slater. Sacked after his first night on the main show, brought back in a awkward spot to no reaction as a surprise tag team member when fans were expecting a big star. Thrown into a feud with the Miz who ate him up on the mic at the time and then made out to be a virgin in a love triangle with the Bellas. Turned it around by using any sliver of interview/vignette time he got to make himself memorable  and slowly but surely got himself over, even when you know deep down WWE/Vince didn't want him to. Stole the YES thing from that UFC lad and got that over insanely too, culminating in becoming undisputed champ at Mania 30.

Also snagged himself a decent wife too!

  18. Triple H and HBK for all their faults and detractors over the years. were proper main eventers who had sustained runs on top with the top lads. Jericho was an upper mid carder who'd occasionally get a sniff of the main event every once in a while in the non important months (saving for his disastrous undisputed title run) so even comparing him to them is ridiculous, never mind claiming he's more important than them. Even Jericho's most memorable run & feud in WWE in recent years (with Owens) was demoted from a potential Mania title match to just another match sandwiched on the show.'

All his well hyped big returns were flops too (the first and most hyped 'Save us Y2J' return was dead once Jericho walked out with the haircut of a menopausal woman in his sparkly jacket and cut a crap comedy promo on Orton.) A lot different than the reaction to HHH's 'Beautfiul Day' hyped return a few years prior.
