  1. Similarities with Eddie's death, though not quite as ironic in that Eddie was due to win the belt that very night...

Well, I imagine Benoit was scheduled to win the ECW title at Vengeance. There's a major difference in the 2 deaths. Benoit chose to die. Guerrero didn't. Eddie's was tragic for him and his family. This is just tragic for Benoit's family. Guerrero died after kicking a habit that nearly killed him just a few years earlier, but in the end caught up with him. Benoit's was possibly a slefish cowardly death, after he did something he regretted which he may have done in a mentally unbalanced state. But to be in that position, where you'd kill anyone, let alone your 7 year old son, it doesn't just happen. It must build up. If he was having problems and let them brew and get worse, then it was entirely his fault. Can't blame WWE at all. Can't blame VinMahon at all. Can't blame Woman.
  2. I am so in shock Benoit is the best you can't tell me he and Eddie are both now gone? That scene of them embracing at Wrestlemania in the ring after Benoit won the title is now happening in heaven.

I think a lot of people will agree that that was of the best, most memorable and emotional moments ever in wrestling, definetly in WWE.
  3. Without wanting to speculate, a guess would be Benoit was called home because his whole family were ill, he got home, and found them dead, and killed himself. But I don't think it's neccessary at the moment to think of things like that. Just hope WWE do the right thing tonight, acknowledge the McMahon thing was a story (and end it) and present a fantastic night of pure wrestling matches in honour of Benoit.

  4. His family as well? It's not something you like to say but at the moment I would need proof to believe this. A.k.a Meltzer confirming this is legit.

Not being funny, but isn't WWE.com reporting it enough for you?Seriously shocking. His whole family? Something very strange obviously went on. Him going home for a family emergency, then being dead 2 days later is so strange.
  5. - Colt Cabana pretending to be a 70's English wrestler during the Q&A at 1PW All or Nothing Fan Slam."Me and Haystacks were working for Max in '79 ...."Well, said that was hilarious, can't belive it wasn't released on DVD!Shawn Michael's elimination of Mike Knox at Survivor Series. Most King Booker promos.

  7. QUOTEHe only did the gimmick on PPV at No Mercy 1999 (UK event) and Survivor Series 1999. I think the both times he lost to X-PacIt was in 1998. I think it was capital carnage that was the uk only ppv he was on. He was also in the deadly game tournament at Survivor series.

He wasn't on Capital Carnage. He wasn't on any UK Only PPVs with that gimmick. As a Man's Man, he only had one PPV. Against X-Pac at Survivor Series 1998. Double Count Out.
  8. It sounds like a good idea. There should be more championships of proper weight and age limits which are defeneded throughout the country over all different promotions, and if promoters can work together to acheive this, then that is great. If one promotion wasn't interested in being a part of it, no matter, I doubt all the other promotions would join forces to try and ruin that one. But, from reading that email, it doesn't even sound like that was even on the back of their mind. The only 1PW connection was that the event might happen in Doncaster, big deal, it happens! But now, looks like 1PW are involved, so, doubt there's any conspiracy!

  9. QUOTE(The Dart @ Aug 7 2006, 16:21) It's because Mason, 2 Xtreme, Dynamite, Whiplash etc almost exclusively work only for ASW, and don't do many matches for internet type promotions. But anyone who knows anything knows that Mason, Dynamite, Whiplash and 2 Xtreme are in the Top 10 or 15 in the country, and because they aren't in the UKFF Top 50, doesn't mean anything. It's the UKFF 50, not the UK 50 !I respect your point and your opinion Dart, but how are the majority of UKFFers to judge them without seeing them work for other people than All Star? They are hardly encouraged to put on fantastic wrestling matches for ASW because the point of ASW is to sell merchandise, the wrestling is secondary. I have seen all of them work for ASW and they look like they all could be good wrestlers, but how would I know?

Yeh, that was my point! It's the UKFF Top 50, not the UK Top 50. Most people on here don't go to ASW shows because they have a preconseption of what they will see, which is usually wrong, or go there with such strong hate towards the promotion, probably because it doesn't suck up to the internet, that they ignore all the good stuff. My point was, Xtreme, Cool, Whiplash, Dynamite, Mason etc are some of the best in the UK, and those people who have seen them at their best, would rank them in the Top 15 or higher, but most people on here haven't, or refuse to admit ASW puts on good matches because they hate ASW so much, so don't vote for them. And that is absolutely fine, because no one expects someone like Robbie Dynamite to be high on an internet forum poll.

  11. Undoubtedly one of the genuine stars of UK wrestling, his rise to the top has been as spectacular as it has sudden, and it is great to see someone who has the look, style and presence that Stone posesses dominating the UK scene. I'm sure his reign of power will only continue...

I wouldn't really say his rise to the top has been sudden. He's been slowly working his way up the rankings for the last 3 years
  12. On a personal note, Whitton and Richie both appeared my own choice for the British Match of the Year so far, as a team against Stevie Lynn and Ice XVII in March, that more people really should see.

If you ever get a chance to see the Ice XVII and Kid Richie vs. Chris Whitton & Stevie Lynn match from Ware last year, I suggest you watch it. Was one of the best matches I saw live last year.
  13. Why not just post the thing all at once? Are you still putting together the bios for each wrestler?

Because this is a bit different, and can lead to all kinds of discussion over who else is left, and who people think will be next etcStingersplash - be quiet, you damn fool.Great way of doing it in my opinion, and nice little picture to go with them, so people who may have heard the name, but not know who they are, or have seen them wrestle but didn't know their name can find out more about them.A bit more info about each wrestler would be good mind.I actually totally forgot to vote, didn't realise the time limit for voting ended so soon.Still, Whitton is very good in my opinion, but Number 47 is about right, seeing as so many fans won't have seen him.Rage and Travell deserve to be higher, but it depends who is ahead of them really.
