  1. How come they use White ring ropes for RAW? I know it's only a little thing but I much prefer the red ropes, and they are associated with RAW, so seems odd they now use shitty White ones. The red ropes still appear on PPVs now and again but not RAW :(

Because Vince liked the look of the white ropes on NXT, so gave them to Raw instead. I want to know why they got rid of the black ropes for the big PPVs when they went HD, they always looked ace.

  2. A quick question guys. Shawn Michaels vs. Marty Jannetty won the Power Slam magazine Match of the Year award for 1993. Which match was this though? Was it their Raw match in May where Jannetty returned and won the Intercontinental title, or was it their one in July where Michaels won and regained it via the help of Diesel?

    Cheers

It's the one from the 19th of July with Diesel involved.

Cheers mate. Next question, do you know if it is available on any WWE video releases?

It is part of "The Best Of The Intercontinental Championship"single disc DVD.

    Silvervision has it for

  4. Just been watching Godwinns interview. Had no idea one of them broke their neck so severely after a botched DDD from Legion Of Doom. Memory is a bit hazy but i was thinking something as severe as that would have been stuck in my mind and regularly brought up in discussions but i don't remember a thing about it.

With RAW being taped back then did the full match get scratched from the TV broadcast >?

EDI: 21st April 1997 if that helps

It aired fully on Shotgun Saturday Night. They used it in a storyline when he came back and they turned heel, showing the clips again numerous times on TV months later.

  5. Watching Raw for the first time in a little while and i'm wondering, how did Alex Riley get that silver briefcase? Any backstory or did he just start carrying it about with him?

I think Michael Cole mentioned a couple of months ago, that they use it to carry the belt around in it.

  6. I think this is everyone:

    Paul Heyman (GM)

    Rob Van Dam

    Sandman

    The Zombie

    Tazz

    Joey Styles

    Justin Credible

    Kurt Angle

    Kelly

    Ariel

    Mike Knox

    CM Punk

    Francine

    CW Anderson

    Dean Malenko (referee)

    Ariel

    Test

    Balls Mahoney

    Danny Doring

    Roadkill

    Al Snow

    Trinity

    Tommy Dreamer

    Little Guido

    Big Guido

    Tony Mamaluke

    Stevie Richards

    Sabu

    And Big Show.

Brad Armstrong was there in some capacity (agent, working house shows) as well, and later that year was a really good announcer for a couple of episodes.

And also at the end of the year, Bobby Lashley was on the roster.

  7. Right guys this is more opinion but I am watching WWF/E TV. I am currently in 1998 and want to go through till the end of the invasion angle.

From the on I am just going to go from PPV to PPV until current day. So my question is to you when would you say is the best time to start just watching PPV

I don't know if that should count, simply because that was the entire reason behind RVD's name.

Yeah, I did think that. But they look so alike, I just couldn't help myself. Here's Tom Selleck and Ravishing Rick to make up for my mistake:

  9. I have been a subscriber for about 4 years now. I think its a better read now there isnt so much MMA in it. I was disapointed a few months back as there was supposed to be an article on wrestling conventions in the next months issue, but there wasnt :( I thought that would have been a good read

Then that just makes it a sloppy magazine. At least when Power Slam says something is going to be in the next issue isn't, they at least apologise and note that it will be in the next issue.

Since Jack Brisco died (Feb last year), PS have been saying that they would be doing a piece on him. . . They still haven't.

I stand corrected then, though they usualy come through with their promises. It is the better mag by miles though, I do really enjoy reading it even if it is abit depressing.

  11. That looks like the weakest Wrestlemania card since 2000

It's better than last year. Last year's main event was a re-run too. You're being over-dramatic.

Not really. My point isn't that Undertaker and Triple H has been done before, it's that there isn't enough time to build it without forgetting all about Sheamus, Kane and The Core. I was looking forward to Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels the rematch like it was the boggest match of all time or something, John Cena Vs Batista was as good as Austin/Rock 1 and convinced me that Cena wasn't all that bad, and that Batista had really turned himself around since turning heel. I had been wanting to see Edge Vs Jericho for ages, I mean ages, and even though Bret Vs Vince wasn't any good, no one expected it to be anyway. It was a 66 year old man trying to fight a 50 year old who had a stroke, but it was a Wrestlemania moment. Bret Hart returned to Wrestlemania. They really need to come up with something this year, and quick.

  12. Triple H/Taker would do it for me. It's been a long time coming, it feels like a genuine main event, it could guarantee great build up and a great match.

    HHH/Taker

    Cena/Miz

    Punk/Orton

    Edge/Del Rio

I think that's a solid top of the card if they go that way.

That doesn't look Wrestlemania quality to me, and if that's what WWE has come up with as well, then they have serious problems or their hands. Having Triple H Vs Undertaker is stupid, becuase they both have to get revenge on the guys that put them out. That looks like the weakest Wrestlemania card since 2000, and I'd doubt many people will pay for what they see pretty much every week on Raw and Smackdown anyway (the other 3 matches).

  13. Bit of a vague question this but can anyone remember what episode of Raw it was years ago where Jerry Lawler laughed at JR saying something and couldn't talk for literally 5 minutes because he was laughing too much?

I think it was around the early 2000's, it popped in my head the other day as I remember JR started getting really pissed off at King not being able to talk

Was it in summer 2002 when they were talking about Molly Holly's Hymen?
