Here's Vince McMahon announcing on Raw (on this date in fact) in 1994 that Randy Savage had the left the World Wrestling Federation, he wished him luck and he looks proper upset as well.

And because the story tickled me, here's X Pac talking about putting a turd in Sable's bag at UK No Mercy.

  2. Depends from what time frame, it was often easily the best TV show of the week. 2009 ECW was a lot of fun, whilst Raw was absolutely terrible.

I probably hate Raw from 2009 more than any time period, so I would probably agree with you that a 2009 ECW would be easier to sit through. It wasn't such a bad C Show when set your expectations down to that level, by then. (Though Smackdown wins overall for me for the better part of the year after the draft, a lot of fun wrestling involved with Punk, Jeff Hardy, Mysterio, Jericho, Edge etc, and then heel Batista at the tail end of the year).

  3. Both of those would of been rigged as well mate.

Rings can just flat out collapse, but it'd be more sudden than that but again it depends on the ring.

This is what I was about to say, about the JBL/Big Show Barbed Wire Cage match anyway. The finish of the match was Bradshaw swerving everyone by winning after he climbed out from underneath the broken ring which gave him the win. I'd doubt they would have changed the finish like that on the spot because of the ring collapsing, it would be too good to be true.

  4. When does ticket information for the 2012 Wrestlemania Revenge Tour get announced?

Normally as soon as this tour finishes. It might be worth just doing a search via Ticket master or something, as they may list it in advance.

    Oh alright, cheers.

  5. That's the one cheers fella

EDIT: After watching that i now have a follow up question.

While that is the match i was thinking of i'm sure i remember Shane McMahon jumping off the top rope or being pushed off through some tables on the outside so my question is did that happen in another match around that period of time or have i just imagined it.

On a side note that is a cracking little match and Booker T gets an enormous pop for his return.

Whilst on the subject, why was Booker T out for most of 2003's second half?

  6. It started on Sky Channel here in 1984 or 1985 or something, so we might have a fair shout. Mind you, they were already touring Australia by November '85, so I'd guess they got it first.

I think they put a couple of matches from that tour on the Global Warning Melbourne DVD, so it rings a bell. It must have been on telly over there a few years to attract some sort of decent crowd, so it probably was them. Cheers.

  7. probably a stupid question, but does anyone own a WWE Blu Ray? Not like a ppv event, but one thats like a superstar collection or true story of wrestlemania or something. Does it just come in a regular old Blu Ray case or is it like the cases they have for DVDs? (you know like the fold out cases)

    cheers.

They just use the normal 2 Disc Blu Ray cases, and no slipcovers or anything either.

  8. The events were never released on official video or dvd.

But all of the matches from Tuesday In Texas were included on the WWF Supertape '92 which I don't believe has been released as part of a tagged classic yet.

We're never going to see that gem on a Tagged Classic, Silvervision have said a few times on Facebook that their mastertape is broken. Perhaps some of the matches will be part of WWE released sets one day.

  9. When the Smackdown From The Vault thing started is there any reason why it got shown instead of matches that happened at the tapings?

It's because of the amount of adverts they have in America, and has been like it since I've been watching. It used to be an Update segment though with Chris Leary or who ever was working at the time, where they'd show highlights of a match from that week's Raw or an old PPV match to promote that year's edition.

  10. Other than the initial Sky One showing on Saturday morning and Sky Sports on Saturday night, when else does Superstars get repeated over here?

It's on Saturday Afternoons on Sky 2, as well as Sunday Morning on Sky 1 before Experience.

  11. Shotgun Saturday Night at first was the WWF's way of experimenting it's edgy content that would follow for the next few years, it was live Saturday late nights and was in places like the Hard Rock Cafe, Nightclubs and even a tube station. Then from March '97 until it was replaced with Jakked/Metal in August '99, it was a syndicated "Jobber Show" that was taped after Raw at first, and then before. When they started doing Heat in August '98, sometimes it fitted in with the tapings for that. Other markets (Including the UK eventually on Sky One) got the daytime version "Shot Gun", as well as "Shotgun Challenge" which is another one we got before. Both of which had different commentary. From '97 until '99 the International version of Superstars got the matches repeated with different dubbed commentary. I guess the reason they stopped doing the Live and controversial shows was because was because they went the way of "Attitude" full time from the March.
