  1. Thanks for all the great suggestions in regard to the Gamecube question. I've been looking into Dolphin - It seems you can run it on Android? I'm planning on buying a decent android tv box for running kodi etc when I'm back at uni. Gonna see if it'll handle running Dolphin etc. Should do - Looking at the xiaomi mi tv box which is one of the higher spec ones. So might be a good all round purchase :)

Probably better off with ebay. Pay with PayPal for protection. CEX have sold some dodgy shite as well!

Could check forums like consolecollect. That would be my first stop :)

    Nice one, will do. Thanks.

  3. Looking for a bit of advice, figured this might be the best place to ask.

I'm looking at purchasing a GameCube, I really want to go back and play a number of those games. Purchasing a console seems relatively easy/affordable to do so - CEX are offering one for around £30 without the controllers or that. A bundle I reckon I can get for about £50.

However the actual games themseleves are what appear to be the expensive part - And something I'd like to see if I can avoid. How easy is it to play ROMs on the device? I've read some stuff online that suggests you can do this by purchasing an SD Media Launcher? Is this true? How easy is this to setup? Does it run smoothly?

With buying retro consoles - Am I worth buying from a retailer such as CEX? I presume I'd have some form of warrenty on them, incase they fuck up within early use? Or should I just take the gamble and buy from ebay/depop?

    Any advice is appreciated.

Well Eubank/Abraham played out as expected down to a tee. Abraham is made for someone like Eubank, clever piece of matchmaking.

Part of me would have liked to have seen Eubank get chinned but i really wanted him in the Super 8 Tournament so i ain't complaining.

The tournament is gonna be brilliant isn't it?

Seriously hoping nothing goes tit's up and we get Groves/Eubank in the semi's.

  5. Caught this PPV in the cinema - which was a cool setup - Big screen and speakers are ideal for boxing. But there was only 4 people including me and my mate. Cost us £6 each though, so can't complain. I wasn't paying £17 for it at home.  Still if they have that deal in place, as thing's grow it'll be decent.

Overall I'd probably have given the show a 6/10.

-Selby fight was decent but he won fairly comfertable in the end.
    - Eubank would be printing money if he had KO power, unfortunatley he doesn't. Reminds me a bit of Floyd in his movement but lacks any power to get the job done and it hurts his appeal. Abrham really offered fuck all, it was like watching Eubank hit the bags in training, unfortunatley this wasn't really the test we all wanted to see Eubank in. Also the one or two rare times Abrham actualy landed, Eubank looked like he had trouble. someone better may well cause him a lot of trouble and I fancy Groves or Degale would both probably beat him..
-Robbie Davis Jr fight was the most fun of the ones I caught - shame he lost mind. But great scrap.

This show ran far to long though. It was nearly midnight by the time I left the cinema.

Youtube and the Fite App (very cool app worth checking if you haven't already). I still ain't seen ACB yet and ive avoided spoilers. I hadn't read much about any political stuff behind the scenses though, i did read that last weekends show was meant to be in the UK but was switched to Poland after issues that came from ACB's last show in England, i aint sure what went wrong though.

They've moved an upcoming show from the US to Sheffield weirdly. Sheffield arena too. Green Day played there the other night for perspectives on size.

ACB is corrupt as shit though, it's a big money laundering scam, run by Russian mafia. Dodgy stuff.

  7. Yup,

Was there once again Sat night - Fun show. Same crowd issues again - Especially this time round as the non-televised/streamed undercard featured around 8 fights from Phoneix MMA in Bournemouth - Which is CW's academy setup/deal. Crowd was a tad sparse by the end.

Think you book Chadwick in against Piechota for the title next. It makes sense. I spoke to Chadwick's team after the fight, they seem certain they'll be able to deliver the result and nab the title, confident that I'd say, Piechota looked phenomenal.

Weeden fight was good fun if you like the drama of a turn-around. Cameron Else is shit - He really should have finished the fight in the 1st though, I was informed he's had the exact same situation of dominating the opener, to the point he should end the fight, comes out knackered in the 2nd and get's beat, in one of his previous bouts. Leah McCourt was the biggest upset of the night by far, she looked God-awful, which was majorly disappointing after hearing how great she's looked on the amateur scene, especially as it was against the relatively unknown Zouak who doesn't have near the same accolades as McCourt. Think CW's will be frustrated with that - Irish contingent and what not, came out and looked shit.

They've got a strong lead-up to Christmas now though, taking a break for a while till September then they've got Nathaniel Wood's title defense, followed by the Liverpool card they announced, featuring the locals Pimblett, Fishgold and Mccann, I might travel up for that one.

  8. I won over £400 in bets on Cage Warriors this weekend. Odds seemed massively off early so got on them. Irritatingly I may lose some of it as I put half of the money on via free bonuses.

Me too. I thought Kenneth Bergh looked decent as well.

What's up with the crowd at Cage Warriors though? Peak audience size must've been around the Inman fight (when it was full up). By the time the main event started, the place was half empty.

Wood took some shots early but otherwise looked amazing. Some solid take down defence and then ridiculous power and hand speed. Surely he'd only a win or two away now from a UFC contract.

That was my second CW's London show - It was the same deal with the crowd last time out. My gut feeling is that it's largely mate's who attend, rather than casual fans. So I think a lot fuck off if one of their pals has fought. It was like £5.50 for a shitty pint of Budweiser, it's probably not worth sticking around for most people who don't follow the sport I'd guess.

Worth noting for those interested in going to the Indigo London shows, I had credentials that allowed me both seating and standing access. The seating is far better, view is awesome, you're not shattered from standing so long. But the tickets are pricey for seating. So really depends.

You're spot on about Wood taking early shots, never looked like he was going down to me though. Wouldn't be surprised if nerves where a little jittery there, had a lot of people rooting for him, once he got going he was slipping punches very effectively.

  10. I was at the Cage Warriors this evening, generally a pretty good show. Craig Whyte, Inman & Wood all the major highlights for me. Shameless plug but on my Twitter I posted a video of the crowd losing it when Wood scored the finish tonight, really awesome scenes. Worth a look @SeanWalford on Twitter.

  11. I've had numerous people ask about it. Fucking retarded they didn't air it live or at least as opening the show. The result was already all over social media by the time it aired. Handled absolutely terribly. That said he didn't look half bad for a guy at 0-0-0. Did all the basics right and didn't freeze on the big occasion with arguably a lot of pressure to deliver, on him. Rest of the show was so-so. Some good stuff some bad, not much else noteworthy.

  12. Thought I'd resurrect this thread now we're just days away from playoff time, wondering what people have thought of the season so far and where they think it'll continue?

Been some really great stuff so far in my opinion, Westbrook's phenomenal form with everything that's happened over there has been great, plus his Buzzer Beater to put the Nuggets out of play-off contention was ridiculous. We've also got OKC vs Rockets in a first round playoff which I think's gonna be loads of fun. GSW have been pretty reliable even with injuries plaguing them throughout this season. They're going to the finals again aren't they? There's been a few mentions of the Clippers possibly causing them problems but I don't see it.

The East has been a funny one, looks like my C's will take the #1 seed but we've been so inconsistent I have no idea if we'll make it out of the first round. We've been super fortunate with just how good IT has been, but he can be taken out of a game and if he doesn't hit the ground running with his shooting in a game he can be a negative to the team, firing useless shot's continuously. I still think we're the best positioned team for the future in the NBA though right now, few teams have ever had high-draft picks and the #1 spot in a season. Stevens/Ainge been working a miracle. The Cav's seemingly just turn it on when they need to, nobody can get near to them when they're playing well, they don't even really care about the #1 spot, they know they're beating almost everyone in the conference, perhaps the Raptors can cause them some problems that lead to fatigue in the 2nd round that might just mean  either the C's or the Wizard's might just have a shout.

Think the East has some decent playoffs on offer, the Bucks can be a difficult team to beat, the Raptors are all over the place so you never really know there. Wizards vs Atlanta offers a fun back and forth season, I expect the Wizards to take it though. I still think we'll finish with Cavs/Warriors though, I'd love a shake-up, whether that be Clippers/OKC or Wiz/Celtics but it's not happening.

  13. £3 on Gérard by KO and DC by Sub won me £48. So gutted I also had £1.50 on Gérard KO in 1st and DC Sub 2nd. Close on that.

In other accas Will Brooks fucked me right over as did Patrick Cote.

Might be worth a £5, in convinced Mousasi is beating Weidman though.

Same here. I've got him winning in almost all if my accas placed. Great value on him to win via TKO get on that.
