That was definitely one of my worries. I thought fucking hell if that's episode 4 I dread to think what the rest of it is like. It goes quite against conventional storytelling in some ways. But makes complete sense as it's very much about what comes after too. It's all intertwined. It's definitely worth finishing. I still feel quite bleak after it to be honest but it's a story that deserves finishing.

Right, I've finished it now and I'm glad I did. Overall it was an excellent series and the acting was just superb from all involved.

It's been a long time since I've watched something that stirred such emotions. Some of it made me laugh, some of it made me cringe and some of it was just downright uncomfortable.

I think it'll be a good while before I decide to give it a rewatch. Totally deserving of all the plaudits it's been getting.

Episode 4 was very harrowing. My girlfriend sobbed during his comedy show breakdown. Absolutely brilliant and heartbreaking show that struck a few nerves. Great performances too. Think it’s a show I couldn’t watch again though.

That has to be the most bleak episode of television I've ever seen. Very tough to watch though the performance from the lead actor is outstanding. I don't know if I can sit through any more of it after all that but I'll finish the series before long.

  3. I'll echo the love for the main event. It was pretty fantastic. I will admit I had gone off the product in recent times but will be tuning in to Raw tonight and am genuinely intrigued as to what they come up with.

Hope Damien Priest gets a decent run with the World title.

@Boycie ever had this delicious elixir?

I haven't but a friend of mine recommended it to me a while back. I just can't seem to find it anywhere. Will keep looking out for it.

Couldn't remember whether I have ever had one of these so decided to buy one.

I can rest assured that I've never had one before, and never will again.

Absolutely rank. Tastes like fizzy mouthwash! I thought maybe I'd eaten something before hand and it had altered the taste, or the drink was out of date, but the 11yo confirmed. It indeed tastes like fizzy mouthwash.

If you like this, you should be utterly ashamed of yourself. 0/10

Apologies, I really like Root Beer. Granted, it does smell like vaporub. I find it has a kind of fresh taste to it.

I'm a big fan of Dandelion and Burdock as well.

    I'll get my coat.

  6. I read a couple of his books a few years ago. While I found them somewhat entertaining, when he started on about royalty and other famous people being reptiles I just couldn't take any of it seriously after that. He may be on to something with the illusion of freedom stuff but I just can't get passed all the sci-fi nonsense.

I was the same! She got right on my nerves in the first two episodes and then turned it around. Her partnership with Luke was outstanding stuff.

She was quite likeable in the end. She was right in her assumptions as well. Unfortunately, the faithful didn't listen.

I don't think I'll bother with that. I don't want to know why Don Logan became so unhinged. It's never a question I've ever thought about. He was a great one off character, so I'll leave it there.

I can definitely see where you're coming from there. He was pretty awesome as a one off character. However, it did always strike me as a film where a good backstory would be interesting. If you'd rather just leave it as it is then fair play.

  9. As I'm a big fan of the film, I watched the first episode of the new Sexy Beast series on Paramount plus. I thought it was pretty good. You can see how Don Logan became so unhinged without giving away any spoilers. I recommend people give it a go. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

  10. I have a bottle of this at home. If anyone wants to give it a go then be warned, one little dab will absolutely blow your head off.

There's another one I get sometimes called Psycho Juice, which is a Carolina Reaper sauce. I find this is more manageable though still very hot.

Be interesting to see what else comes up in here.

  11. That sounds awful, especially for your partner. Hope she's not too shaken up by it though I imagine she probably is. It's sometimes difficult to know what to do in these situations. Hopefully he gets what's coming to him, he shouldn't be going into people's homes with that kind of attitude.

I'm the same. I can't remember the last time I actually took the trouble to vote. It was a long time ago.

I think a lot of people feel that way at the moment. A friend of mine has quite proudly never voted in his life. When I asked him why, his response was "it won't make any difference to my life".

It wouldn't surprise me to see a very low turnout at the next election, probably the lowest in years. Also, I don't think we'll see the landslide Labour victory that many are predicting. I still think they will win though it will be a close call in the end. A lot can happen between now and then.

Whites is incredible! Been going there forever, although havent been in a few years as not been down Walton in a while. Shame they shut down the Martello!

It's still going strong! I'm from Ipswich but a few of us go down there for pie and mash sometimes.

  14. 48 minutes ago, SuperBacon said:

Yeah I've had it. For me it overpowers the pie and the mash. Each to their own.

That's interesting, I find it compliments it rather than overpowers it. I find it quite a subtle flavour personally.

Northerners or Southerners (sane ones) unite over this.

Anyone choosing parsley liquor over gravy deserves that to be their last meal to be honest.

    It's vile.

It's a matter of taste at the end of the day. At least you've actually tried it. If you don't like it then fair enough.

If we're talking about people who deserve a last meal, it's people who say they 'don't like' something despite having never even tried it before.

A nice pie with mash is a lovely combination. Us Northerners usually eat it with a good gravy and veg though.

Eating it with fucking parsley liquor and jellied eels though, insert Clint Eastwood looking disgusted gif.

We'll have to beg to differ there. To be pedantic, it's stewed eels not jellied eels (you have them as a side dish if you feel inclined). I like a steak pie with gravy though when it comes to traditional pie and mash I stick with the liquor.

  17. Honestly, it tastes better than it looks! I go to White's pie and mash shop in Walton on the Naze quite often. Not sure if they have any execution facilities nearby though.

All joking apart, it is my favourite meal closely followed by a massive mixed grill.
