  1. Sorry for the double post, but the main event of the next monthly show is Joe Doering against Josh Alexander. Even better, its at Center Stage in Atlanta!

Although the result isn't in doubt, this is going to be a doozy!

  2. Well, it does make sense given Eddie Edwards' turn and their history together. Plus its not like all the ex TNA big names are exactly available and free agents atm.

Loved the show, was heavy on nostalgia but who gives a fuck? Was definately a love letter to TNA wrestling.

Personally would have loved the return of the six sided ring, and in the age of way too much wrestling product being out there, would be a way of differentiating themselves again.

Loved most the video packages , but if I could only choose one it would have to be this.

  3. Other than podcasts or the odd clip, I don't think I've watched a single wrestling show in 6 weeks. My consumption is almost solely via audio means or on social media.

I consider myself an Impact Wrestling watcher and will probably watch Slammiversary this month, but the weekly TV of every company just passes me by other than reading the occasional spoilers/results.

I've recently changed jobs and now work more anti-social hours than I did, so the lesser time I have to watch TV will be on something both the Mrs and I want to watch, or football games if my team is playing.

The novelty of the brand new WCW Nitro (AEW) with its superb announce team has also worn off by now and I find the WWE/AEW fans back and forth about everything to be a bit tiresome on Twitter etc. Turns me off both of them in truth.

While I will always make a point of catching anything relating to the 80's or 90's, be it a documentary or what have you, I can't say I'm much of a fan of anything Wrestling related post-2000 (which is a scary thought given its a 20 year period by now).

  4. I find it more shocking than impressive that someone would wrestle when so clearly injured. I haven't watched the match (or WWE in general because life's too short), but I very much doubt I could enjoy watching blokes in their underpants pretending to hurt each other in 2022 when one of the competitors is displaying internal bleeding before it even begins.

I'm surprised that Sean has held out for this long, recently he was giving away his shows for free on YouTube and now he's getting into podcasts. They must have killed the shoot interview market a while back.

Yeah, I loved most of the KC stuff but the pure volume of wrestling podcasts killed off his business model really. I don't think a podcast is anywhere near as good as most of his interviews, but when they're all for free (with Conrad Thompson releasing a new one every day it seems), its a different matter.

I could listen to Kevin Nash all day.

  6. I liked Willie Mack but his place on the card probably didn't justify the significant payrise he reportedly was asking for. No bad guys in a scenario like that I suppose, Willie Mack thinks he's worth more than what Impact does.

Can't see WWE picking him up and surely AEW isn't going to sign him to a permanent deal and add to that massive roster are they?

Under Siege looks a good card tonight.

  7. Just caught up on Rebellion.

Yeah, there was a cracking 90 minute ppv there if you fast forward through some of the shite in the middle.

I expected more from both women's matches tbh, they didn't do it for me personally. Nice to see Taya back where she belongs though.

LOVED the main event though. A proper hoss match that didn't feel like it dragged at all. My only concern was the bare buckle bomb at the end....ouch. I could do without ever seeing one of those again.

My biggest gripe in regards production is the lighting. I know Impact isn't filling MSG anytime soon but there was a decent crowd there. Sadly, no one watching on TV would be any the wiser as nothing beyond the third row is ever shown.

It's almost like people's opinions about cutting people from their contracts in the middle of a pandemic (and while the company was posting record numbers) wasn't about how well they wrestled.

Exactly. I didn't know who half the fuckers were. But it doesn't mean I can't sympathise and feel aggrieved at the shitty situation they were left In.

  9. He wasn't going to be a full time manager anyway was he? I doubt he wants the hassle at this stage of his life.

Probably better off with a sizeable legends deal. Certainly worth more than a couple of one off appearances on AEW.

  10. In the USA maybe but I had it on VHS and the match was definately on the Silver Vision release.

Didn't bret v Taker get cut from the original VHS release, or am. I imagining that?

Edit: it's not listed at least

    - Shawn's entrance is peak coked up 1997 Michaels. He's all over the place. In his pre match interview he's sweating like a .gif of someone going mental to gabber music. When he comes out he starts planting kisses on girls in the front row, grabs a Bulldog figure from someone and drops it down his pants, and appears to be having a proper argument with Vince during Bulldog's entrance.

To this day I'm convinced that Shawn's hand was somewhere it probably shouldn't be during his interview by Sunny on the preshow.

Can you imagine that airing on modern day perfect and over produced WWE tv?

The Bret/UT match is an interesting one as I suspect the WWF expected Bret to be the overwhelming babyface, but there was definitely a mixture of cheers and boos when he come on the video screen beforehand. It took a while for the crowd to fully come on board with Bret.

  12. The only 1PW show I attended was over 10 years ago in Queensferry (right on the Welsh border, near Chester), which was billed as an nWo reunion featuring Hall, Nash and Waltman. Also advertised were the New Age Outlaws.

In the end we got Kevin Nash and Road Dogg as the other nWo guys pulled out (I assume for being fucked up at the time) and Billy Gunn couldn't get into the country upon arrival and was deported. Rhino was on there too.

For such a strong looking card (at least initially), the attendance was woeful. (And of course, my mate never got his DVD).
