  1. Don't think there is much to complain about from the Dubois camp. But when your fighter also has a 4 minute rest mid fight. Then is completely gassed 3 rounds later. You would do anything to deflect. The 8th round knockdown and 9th round stoppage didn't look very debilitating. Dubois could have continued if he really wanted to. Standing prone when the ref counts in your face, and then popping up like a jack in the box at 10. Oh damn, missed the count by milliseconds.

  2. I watched the 10 minutes highlights on YouTube and that almost put me to sleep. One punch tap, one punch tap. No combinations from Joshua, until the knockout shot. Joshua still has the power but he's got no aggression and too timid incase he gets hit back. He's never going to win another world title, unless someone vacates and he has a mandatory fight against a spud.

Oscar Valdez Vs Emanuel Naverrete across the pond last night. Check that out if you can, Mexican style, if you know what I mean.

John Cazale - The Godfather, The Conversation, The Godfather Part II, Dog Day Afternoon, The Deer Hunter.

Then he died. Only films he ever did. A perfect record.

All five were also nominated for Best  Picture at the Oscars. Both Godfathers & Deer Hunter won

  4.

Sky Sports have uploaded the Taylor/Lopez fight already.

Didn't go as I expected. Lopez really pulled out a top level performance. Taylor faded badly from the 8th round onwards. Judges scores were a joke.

Also on last night was Jaime Munguia vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Both moved up to 168lbs. Absolute banger of a fight. All action, slug fest

  5. Only seen snippets of the build up of Taylor/Lopez. But the stuff Lopez is coming out with, saying he wants to kill Taylor, and if he doesn't, he wants to die in the ring. It's all a bit unhinged. I also saw he said, he's leaving Top Rank because they only favour black fighters. His dad was in the background when he was being interviewed trying to tell him to shut up but he wasn't having any of it.

I can only see Taylor winning this one. Lopez doesn't look like he's in the right frame of mind to be professionally boxing tonight.

  6. Edwards called out Bam Rodriguez after his last fight. Then Rodriguez called out Edwards after his last fight in April. But Matchroom has now paired Edwards up with this Campos fella. He doesn't look like he could punch his way out of a paper bag.

  7. Phil Neville's been sacked as Inter Miami's head coach. They're bottom of their league.

Always lands in a job through nepotism. He has even got his boy signed to Inter Miami.

Here he is last week making a tit of himself at a press conference.

  8. Brutal knockout by Junto Nakatani last weekend. Won the Super Flyweight title, I think on the Haney/Loma undercard. Hit Moloney so hard, he had blood pissing out of his eye and nose! He's a two weight world champion now.

  9. Romero pushed Barroso over, that should not have been a knockdown. And the finish was just ridiculous.

Barroso was up on all the cards, 5 points ahead on one of them. Showtime had him 4 points up. Glad to see the commentators shit all over the finish as well.

I've only seen Rolly Romero from the Tank fight, but if he's struggling with an alleged 40 year old Barroso. There are a lot, lot, better fighters at 140lbs than him .

There was a 140lb eliminator starting the show. Kenneth Sims Jr vs. Batyr Akhmedov. Absolute scrap, complete fire fight. Sims Jr just edged it.

Ben Shalom doesn't come across as enough of a cutthroat bastard to swim with the sharks like Fast Car or Fish Eyes. He even looks like Mick Hennessy could outsmart him.

He's come out today and done an interview with Sky Sports, tying himself in knots.

He doesn't know why purse bids were called in first place. (Clarke's management, asked the BBBoC to made him mandatory for the British title) Clarke himself also asked for the fight.

Shalom says, Clarke needs a 10 round fight before he fights for the British title. Wardley is the British champion and hasn't gone past 6 rounds!

What happens if Clarke knocks out the next opponent in 3 rounds. He still hasn't learnt  anything. Will there be another 10 rounder after that?

Shalom said they've been pushing for the Wardley fight and have made a huge offer to him.... Then they pulled Clarke out of the fight. Wardley said Boxxer have offered less than what he got for his previous fight

Boxxer are happy to work with other promoters on the fight, but has to be on our terms! I.e. on Sky Sports.

If boxers are good enough, especially good amateurs they should be able to go a full 12 rounds. Joe Joyce had a 12 round fight in his 4th fight. Lomachenko fought for a world title in his 2nd fight.

  11. Matchroom's, Fabio Wardley vs. Boxxer's, Frazer Clarke for the British heavyweight title went to purse bids today. Then Boxxer decided to pull Big Fraze out of the fight. Boxxer went to the BBBOC and asked for Clarke to be the mandatory challenger for Wardley's British title. Boxxer getting a lot of grief for it on social media now.

  12. Can't find the Talking Pictures thread so here will have to do.

They were showing cult British 50's film Hell Drivers this afternoon. Stanley Baker plays an ex-con who has to take a job, lorry driving at a gravel haulage company to pay the bills. He comes up against Patrick McGoohan's character who's a nasty bastard who stops anyone from muscling in on his crime racket.

The subcast is a who's who of British actors

    Sid James (pre Carry on)

    William Hartnell (pre Dr Who)

    Sean Connery (pre James Bond)

Directed by Cy Endfield who went on to direct Zulu, with Stanley Baker starring.

Everton were awful but also had the best chance of the first half when Simms missed. He was dreadful, is he seen as a big prospect?

He's in the team because we have noone else. Simms had a good spell at Sunderland for the first half of the season. But he is best suited playing off the main striker. Seeing as Everton have no strikers he's become it and spends 90 minutes, chasing lost causes.

Quite interested to see Lawrence Okolie over on the Sky. The guy's stock is in the toilet at the moment. I think when joined Sky he was expecting to be a some grand re-announcement of his career, but all it feels everyone has seen him as pretty ungrateful for the job Matchroom did for him. There's obviously more to the story than we see, but it does feel like Lawrence is a but deluded about where he stands in the grand scheme of things. Never seen New Zealander David Light fight but it sounds like this won't be a knockover. Lawrence needs to hope this ain't a stinker.

His style is so viewer unfriendly, he's very hard to market. I didn't realise he was boxing this weekend until earlier today because of the fracas in the undercard fight. They went for a face to face and one of them pushed the other one onto his arse.

It's like Joshua Buatsi. He recently left Matchroom for Boxxer for better opportunities. Eddie got him a fight with Dmitry Bivol with a £1m+ payday and he turned it down. Instead he's fighting Pawel Stepien on a show in Birmingham
