  1. Is Chavez vs Martinez defo on then? Should be good.

So says Arum. He was on after the fight and said a contract had been signed for the fight to be at the Thomas & Mack Centre in Vegas. Alvarez vs. Ortiz will be at the MGM Grand, down the road.

I see Enzo Mac has pulled out of the rematch against Shane McPhilbin because he's hurt his hand. If the fight doesn't happen before September he's stripped of his title. He should probably just vacate it now so he can retire for his own sake.

  2. Anyone catch Chavez vs Lee? I thought Chavez looked good myself, I was a bit surprised that Lee kept trading with him though. Played right into Chavez's hands and abandoned his boxing. Good stoppage though, Lee was taking a bit of a hiding.

It was a good fast paced fight. Chavez was walking through Lee's punches, he looked really strong especially as Lee had knocked out 20 of his 29 opponents. I think after the battering Lee took at the end of the fourth round and Chavez goading Lee in to coming after him, he took the bait and Chavez just picked him off.

Chavez vs. Martinez up next, billed on the same night as the Ortiz vs. Alvarez fight.

  3. Scott Steiner has been on one of his funny twitter rants. Something happened between him and Brooke Hogan where Hogan said she could make more money as a hooker than Steiner did in his wrestling career.

"After brooke hogan tweeted that she could make more money on her back than i did in my wrestling career Which i accepted and i will get into later,a high ranking official from TNA (who i respect) called me and Without going into the whole conversation he ask me to stop tweeting and since im trying to Save TNA from the same fate as WCW,and this official also has TNA's best interest in mind i agreed Until b---hoff opened his mouth spewing his bullsh*t as usual...

"but first since i missed brookes debut,I know The camera adds 10 lbs but OMG how big is her head, did everybody notice when they were advertising her For the show they had a picture of her that looked totally differerent of her when she walked out,how many Gallons of paint did it take to airbrush that big head...and this is why i accepted her challenge that she Could make more money on her back, even though guys have fetishes and sometime guys are just bored But she has too many physical variables and abnormalities to be competitive or make money as a wh*re. Keep in mind she could have issued the challenge that she could make more money singing but she chose Prostitution bcuz even she knows her singing sucks...

"her dad took her to a few music studios in nashville in a last ditch effort and of course they got laughed out of the studio...same results cant sing cant dance and shes an amazon. Alot of responses to her debut was that she was a amazon..she has fat knees, cankles and did i mention she has a big head Spinkled with a lil transvestite dust.

"So with the horrible ratings and reviews of his daughter what does hogan do;re-tweets a sexual tweet bcuz The guy asks him too! LOL what a f*cking idiot..need some ppl to tweet hogan the most vulgar sexual laced tweets and lets see if The dumbass will re-tweet them

"For 21/2 yrs since hogan b---hoff n pritchard have been in charge the ratings have sucked and TNA continues To lose more and more of its fanbase and they think bringing in hogan's no talent daughter in will help The ratings.....they are fn crazy....the knockouts are pissed and think shes a joke. You want a storyline you want ratings make brooke the chazz bono of tna, minus the penis implant, bcuz he/she has to have a vagina like her dad. Not only is tna wasting money on flying his daughter to the shows,TNA also pays to fly her dog with her. Unbelievable!!!!

"In 21/2 yrs hogan hasnt drawn a rating so what genius thinks his daughter will....and the dog??? Getting feedback from some fans at ppv..and they took the 609 signs from them...but cant silence the 609 chants... Power to the people"

  4. That fight between Bailey & Jones was one of the worst I've seen. Bailey wasn't throwing anything and Jones was so scared of him he wouldn't throw more than two punches. Bailey's trainer had given up on him by the 7th round and the cut-man had to do the corner coaching. Then Bailey hit those two right hooks in the 10th and 11th and it was all over. Bailey was incomprehensible in the post fight interview because he couldn't stop crying.

Like everyone else I was disappointed with the Bradley/Pacquiao result. I thought Bradley did well but Pac had done more than enough to win.

June seems to be the month for announcing retirements. Sugar Shane Mosley has hung up his gloves. Antonio Margarito has called time on his in ring fighting career but will still play a part behind the scenes. And Vitali Klitschko's September 1st fight against the unbeaten Manuel Charr is being touted as his farewell fight before he jumps into politics with the October Ukrainian parliamentary elections.

  5. Anyone seen the Vince Russo live YouShoot yet? Its alright but nothing spectacular for a 2 and a half hour show because Russo dodges a lot of questions. No new ground is covered and Russo doesn't play any of the games because of his faith. I don't get why the interviewer, Sean Oliver didn't say beforehand, we play these games, would you be happy doing them. And if he said no, come up with some different ones.

There was one bit which made me laugh. They did a shit list of all of Russo's crappy angles. And when Oliver starts reading them out, Russo's marking out at how great they were. When he gets to "That 70's guy / fat chick thriller" he's laughing his head off at how brilliant it was and wants to get tapes of it!

A couple of times throughout the show, Oliver keeps having a go at an unnamed newsletter for not letting him plug his YouShoot on their show. It was pretty obvious he meant Meltzer & Bryan Alvarez. It was an unprofessional thing to do live and has probably burnt his bridges with them because it turns out Alvarez offered him a chance to come on his show but Oliver turned it down and they plugged it on Alvarez's show on Thursday anyway.

Russo said he and his son have wrote a script/screenplay for a comedy show about a dysfunctional wrestling promotion.....

The usual idiots/hangers on who normally appear with questions are there. The fat bloke who keeps shouting, lets play the game and the scrawny one who thinks he's really smooth, got a gig introducing people to the podium to ask questions. But he stands so close to the mic whatever he's saying is an explosion of distortion. There's a funny Matt Hardy animated video question but that's the only good one. For the majority of the time, you can't understand what they're saying on the video questions because the camera used is so shitty and/or they're wearing some stupid mask for a laugh and they're never funny.

  6. Surely a good win for Haye will promt talk of a fight with a Klitschko brothers though?

Povetkin's promoter, Vlad Hrunov has said whoever wins between Haye & Chisora will get a shot at Povetkin's WBA title.
  7. Haye vs Chisora is on for July 14th at Upton Park. Fight sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation because neither hold a British boxing license. From Warren's comments it looks like its going to be shown on BoxNation.

  8. What a ridiculous decision in the Bam Bam Rios / Richard Abril fight. Abril out worked Rios all the way through the fight and looked the dominant fighter and puncher. It goes to the judges and they screw the poor guy over. One had it 117 to 111 in favour of Abril. And the other two had it 116-112 & 115-113 in favour of Rios. The promoters will do anything to line their pockets and keep theit fighters from losing so they can get the big pay-off down the road. They were saying it was in the pipeline for JM Marquez to face Rios at Cowboys Stadium.

Rios can never make the weight. He said he hired a nutritionist and felt in the best shape ever, etc, etc. He got weighed and was 2lbs over, they told him to lose it and come back and was then 4lbs over the limit. So then Rios couldn't win the belt, was fined $45k, had to pay an undisclosed fee to Abril and wasn't eligible for a fight bonus.

  9. Good win for Nonito Donaire last night. He controlled the fight to start with but Vazquez Jr. came back for a couple of rounds using mostly his jab to deter Donaire's punching combo's. Donaire came back strong and hit Vazquez with a 3 punch combo to score a knockdown and largely controlled the rest of the fight. Late on they said Donaire had broken his hand in one of the earlier rounds and this was confirmed when he took his glove off and his hand-wrap was covered in blood.

Anyway, 2 of the judges scored it 117 - 110 to Donaire whilst the the 3rd judge, Ruben Garcia had it 115 - 112 for Vazquez. Then when HBO reeled off the punching stats it made the third decision even more shocking. Donaire landed 68 more normal punches with a 42% connection rate. Donaire threw and landed about 80 more power punches with a 60% connection rate.

Donaire's main weakness still looks like his defence. When Vazquez dropped his defence & started throwing more punches, that was Donaire's point to unleash his combo's and let them connect. But he seemed to lose focus and couldn't take it to the next step which was probably the knockout.

  10. Highlander Robbie has cut off his long hair and the big beard and now wrestles as Guillotine Graham or Robert Graham around Ontario. He was on the card for the latest incarnation of Stampede Wrestling and wrestles for CSI where they bring in ex WWE guys.

  11. Its Coming ...And its not done by Feinstein by the looks of it.

Anyone watch Bloodstained Memoirs? Was it just a collection of talking heads, or do you get to hear the interviewer too?Because I need to know if this is going to be a swotted-up, quick on his feet Sean Oliver type asking the questions, or a mumbling RF/Highspots idiot that's going to blow the chance at the greatest thing that ever happened.
On the original it had Dean Ayass asking questions (which were edited in) and then cutting to the wrestlers giving the answers. As he's physically not there, its just a relay of questions with no follow-ups or conversation.Bloodstained Memoirs wasn't a shoot type deal. It was supposed to be a documentary with wrestling figureheads talking about stuff in the business. They had some interesting interviews with Piper, Ultimo Dragon & Great Muta. But there was also rubbish like Jericho talking about his music, a Mick Foley book signing and no probing questions to any of the interviewee's.
  12. Embarrassing from Khan after the fight, blaming the ref for the loss and saying he was fighting two people in there. He was constantly warned stop pushing but kept doing it and the cheap-shot after the ref told them to stop was inexcusable.

Peterson could also argue he was fighting two people in there, Khan & his ego. The cocky arms aloft pose saying you didn't hurt me and the trash-talk on the ropes. If Khan boxed his way out of trouble instead of leaning on the ropes and letting Peterson rain on him with repeated body blows & uppercuts pretending they didn't hurt, he would of faired much better.

The body shots really slowed Khan down and he couldn't get going again. His main weapon, his hand speed was demobilised and he basically just ran away from Peterson who was constantly stomping forward on the warpath. I wouldn't say Peterson was fighting dirty but he was brawling out there and Khan didn't know how to handle it. Peterson said in the post fight interview, plan A to match Khan wasn't working so they switched to plan B. When plan A wasn't working for Khan what did he switch to?

I'm glad Peterson won the fight, he looked like he wanted it more and was very humble in victory, immediately offering the rematch after the fight which was something he didn't have to do. The guy has had a very tough life so far and its an amazing story what he and Barry Hunter have accomplished. I also liked how he turned down the big money fight last year with Khan in England, to instead face off against Cayo in the IBF eliminator and then face Khan for less money in his home city.

  13. The next Youshoot looks pretty interesting. Its Tony Atlas and he's talking candidly about his foot/shoe fetish. He's brought along a life size cardboard cut-out of Chyna and photo's of some boots he wants her to walk on his face with.

    Here's the clip:

  14. I wonder how much the judges got paid for those bogus scores in the Marquez/Pacquiao fight.

Marquez outsmarted, outclassed & outboxed Pacquiao, he must of won 8 out of the 12 rounds yet loses. Fixed.

  15. When the Wrestling Channel (RIP) used to show World of Sport all the time, I always noticed footage of Hogan in the opening montage / credits. I asked the question in Power Slam magazine at the time and Martin stated that Hogan had never wrestled for any of the World of Sport associated promotions and that is was simply exploitation, added to the opening to trick fans into believing there would be big name Americans wrestling on the show.

My question then is this, where was the footage from, and did Vince or the copywirght owner ever attempt to do anything about Hogan being pimped on a show on which he

  16. According to 411, ROH are in talks with Gabe over a potential return to the company. If it means ROH can re-link up with Dragon Gate, then personally I'd be all for it.

I doubt it will happen. They had a big fallout over airfare and talent bills from their last tour. The expenses were supposed to be shared over the two companies but Dragon Gate picked up the bill and ROH never paid them back.
