  1. The next issue has this as one of the lead articles:

Constructive Criticism - WWE has problems and we have solutions. We explain in detail what WWE needs to do in order to win back its fan base.

Which of these won’t be in there?

    Push Cesaro

    Let them wrestle

    No more part timers

Copy NXT on Raw and SmackDown

    Turn Roman heel

    More silent badass characters

    Make Raw two hours

Give wrestlers more creative control, don’t just dictate everything to them

Force Ronda Rousey to tap out to Becky Lynch, even if she doesn’t like that creative she best do as she’s told

    Cut ties with Saudi

I thought Asuka was already a heel.

I don’t think she is anymore. She beat heel Ruby Riott to qualify for Money in the Bank, her tag partner’s been feuding with heel Nia Jax, and the title change scene with Becky seemed to solidify her as the new top babyface woman on Raw. There isn’t really anyone else for that spot at the moment.

I'm most looking forward to the 2024 Tony Kahn vs Donald Trump in the battle of the Billionaires hair vs hair match with Wardlow and Hager representing respectively.

Imagine the shitfit Vince would throw, he’d be burning effigies of DT on Raw. Could happen as well! Jericho and the Khans are mates with the Trumps. Although I reckon with Donald’s ego, he’d want to be battling George Sr rather than Nerdy Gob.

I know it's unlikely as it ended the show but is there any chance that line was a rib?

Again it's massively unlikely but the way they both reacted when she said it you could imagine Vince or Hunter putting it in for a laugh

Much more likely though that she probably just left out a few words, 'one of the greatest matches ever' or something like that

I reckon they thought it needed that extra stamp of hard sell as a PPV main event. I hope they just stick with it now and keep billing it as the greatest wrestling match ever, rather than pretending it never happened.

Can you download CAW's that other people have made? Haven't played it in years. If the the forum uploaded their own CAW's of themselves and had someone live stream a simulated Royal Rumble it would be the best UKFF content in weeks.

You can! I'm up for simulating the Rumble if anyone's interested in the idea. Can be a CAW of yourselves, figures from UKFF lore, celebrities that are discussed a lot on here etc.Even the shitty Jeff Hardy/Raven rip-off character you used to e-fed as when you were a teenager.

If you're feeling especially inclined to indulge my loneliness, you can even do an audio pre-match promo that I'll put over a still of your character before the match starts. And we could pipe in some commentary if anyone wants to do that.

I typed this while I was working and now I've finished working and I don't feel like doing any of this anymore but I'm still clicking reply.

fans crying and pounding their hearts and cheering wildly, a drastically different vibe to what it was like in the building.

It might not have been like that in your section, but it was pretty much like that in mine. People were going nuts for him to win that match, albeit everyone was almost as knackered as he was, and then doing the big “thank you” chants after. When he left his costume in the ring, there were definitely folks crying - that must have been the case where you were sitting as well, surely?

I appreciate this is entirely subjective, but I find it really hard to look at Jon Moxley and not think "oh great, it's Dean Ambrose"

Fuck off, he’s a completely different character now - for example, he... uh, well, he sticks his middle finger up like Stone Cold. Dean Ambrose never did that! And as well as that, he... well yeah, alright, with him it’s just the middle finger thing.

Harper’s playing a different character though. Yes, the character is Vince McMahon, but it’s still different from Luke Harper.

Swagger was never a dumb alt-right amateur wrestler man in WWE.

I’m very critical of the TNA-like use of WWE midcarders as top guys as well, but that’s what happens when there’s a monopoly. The average WWE jobber or cast-off has tons more name value than anyone who has never been there. It’s not as true now as it was, as the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega must be more famous than Austin Theory and EC3. But Hangman Page is about on par, and then the rest of the (non-WWE) AEW roster are total unknowns. Darby Allin is hugely popular amongst paedophiles, foot fetishists and people who piss the bed every time they have a drink, but he currently has less than zero fans outside of those demographics. He’s still new and young enough, though, to build that fanbase. Like someone mentioned above, at least using ex-WWE midcarder #439 as your main eventers means you’re not high-profile beating all your up-and-comers before they’ve had a chance to get over.

At the end of the day, at least they’re not doing it in a six-sided ring (yet).

ÂŁ6.49 for 2 wrestling characters in a game!?!. I'll just create my own thanks.

That’s an option as well. I can’t even imagine how much time I’d put into the create a wrestler modes if I was a kid now. I spent hours and hours on them in the PS1 and N64 games, and on there you’d often just get at best a rough approximation of someone. Now, you can get a photorealistic CM Punk vs Ed Sheeran vs Batman, near enough anything you want. If the games had this depth in character creation when I was 13, I’d have been doing Neighbours vs Home & Away Survivor Series matches and all sorts.

Anyway, £6.49 is jarring at first glance, but it’s more reasonable than pre-ordering the game at full price to get the characters. The WWE games come out in October or November at £50, and often drop to about £30 a few weeks later for Black Friday.

My 5 year old and I have played WWE 2K18 to death and I wanted to get a newer version mostly for the wrestlers gear to be more up to date and for us to play as the newer wrestlers that weren't in 2K18.

Obviously WWE 2K20 was a disaster, so I'm happy to just get 2K19 instead.

I have read that Ronda Rousey & Rey Mysterio were "pre-order exclusives". Does that mean that there are no versions available now that will include those two wrestlers? It's not a deal breaker but my son loves Rey Mysterio, so I'd want to pick up a version which includes them if I can.

They are available for download. I don’t think there’s any version that comes with them as the pre-order stuff doesn’t get included in the season pass, but they are available as DLC on the PSN store, £6.49 for the pair of them.

Also, its Daniel Bryan. He's a guy who used the momentum from losing in 10 seconds to get over with the audience. He's a guy who got over going to anger management classes with Kane. He got over with "yes/no chants." He got over with a silly haircut.

They still shouldn’t have made him look like a geek (copyright Bryan Alvarez). What about people who stopped watching wrestling fifteen years ago and never saw any of that stuff? Real fans. They were expecting the Cattle Mutilation.

Given Danielson’s serious wrestling past in ROH/Japan/All Star before Kevin Dunn handcuffed his moveset, he should’ve been the one person in the match treating it like an actual sport. Let Otis and Corbin do their no-workrate wacky sports entertainment shit, but don’t drag Dragon into it. Let him be taking it seriously, like he’s actually trying to win a pro wrestling match. It’s not rocket science, all they’d have had to do is a couple of times during the match, he gets locked in a cupboard and when he gets out of it he’s had a magic costume change and he’s doing one of his older gimmicks, like trying to hug everyone lol. But knowing Vince, that sort of thing is too realistic and not hokey enough to be good shit, pal.

The AmDrag stuff wasn’t the only problem with the match, either. It’s an absolute shambles that flash-in-the-pan comedy character Otis has only ever had about two singles matches, yet he’s in a ladder match for a title shot. And then he wins the fucking thing!

Bet they wish they'd had Bryan win it at 'Mania now.

By the by, what's the point? Is anyone in 2020 really concerned about whether the Intercontinental Title is on telly? Bah.

Tournament fills TV time though, which is the main thing,

Orton is an odd one, he's been around for 18yrs but apart from Cena/HHH hasn't really had a ton of matches against same guys or maybe I'm forgetting them? Him vs Reigns, Rollins, are still pretty fresh (which is good for wwe) and even vs Taker, Rey and few others doesn't seem overdone.

A lot of his work is forgettable. He has been on top form in this Edge feud, though. Fantastic job at selling the normal match as a logical next step from the gimmick match.

I’d read about Daniel and AJ “cleaning up” Vince’s office and heard that some folks didn’t like it, but I was pretty disappointed to see that that was all it was. The way some were going on you’d think AJ was pushing the hoover around and Daniel has his marigolds on, Vince shouting “godammit! Use the Cillit Bang!”

To be fair, the only acceptable interaction would’ve been to stick their fingers up at him and tell him PG sux and they’re never going to play catch with him, then play their stereo loud while he’s trying to watch Sky Sports News. Anything other than that just exposes them as the bootlicker GEEKS (copyright Bryan Alvarez) that they are.

A more effective story, given the promo Orton gave, would be to focus on Edge potentially not being that great at a straight-up wrestling match. Sure, he was able to brawl and fight better at Wrestlemania, but tell the story of Edge doubting himself a little, does he have the skill and athleticism that he once had?

That is the story, that’s why the announcer’s line was so odd (as well as being Schiavone-esque bollocks).

Surely they’ve had singles matches on PPV since 2004, though? They were feuding in 2010 for a while.

If logic has gone out the window then Asuka should just cash in on all three champions in a fatal four way and take all the belts.

Reduces her chances of winning a bit though.
