  1. the 'fix' thing in yesterdays paprer (think I saw it in The Sun) is bullshit, just something to out of nothing. In the same paper Vitali said he would fight Haye in England for 50-50 purse, but Wladimir "would kill Haye" if he fought him first.

At the end of the day, If Haye wants to retire in October 2011, he'll only get 2 fights in, and as he has stated he wants to beat both Klitschkos, will have to be them. If he takes any other fight, he won't get it done, and he'll look even more of a paper-champion than he does now

  2. Ive never doubted Haye's ability as a fighter, its just him I cant stand. There is a difference between being confident and being a cocky cunt, and he is the latter.

And the way in which he has gone about fighting since becoming champion in laughable. He had the fight with W. Klitschko and bitched out (I didnt buy his back injury reason). And the fact that his camp had to pay John Ruiz (who was #1 contender) to sit at home so Haye could get the shot at Valuev a joke. Like Ive said before, if Haye wants the fight with either of the Klitschkos so badly, he'd take it on whatever money he was offered because, according to Haye, its not about the money, its about unifying the heavyweight division

  3. WTF happened there. The big guy threw fuck all and got pwned big style.

    What times the Manny fight?

coverage starts at 2am. Not sure how much of the under card is being shown (if any). I'd take a punt at 3am or 4am for Manny's fight to start

  4. Harrison didnt deserve a shot at the World title, not tonight or any night. haye could have taken the December date easily if he wanted to. The Heavyweight division only has the Klitschokos as 'the' big money fight. I know he said he wants to retire at 31 next year (whenever that is), an he wanted to fight both brothers, the longer he puts it off, the less credible he becomes.

Its been talked up so much ,the Boxing boards should just say, "thats it! You've all talked this fight up, your not fighting anyone else"

  5. If Haye wanted the fight so badly, like he claims, he would accept any pay-day for it. He's the one with everything to prove, not the Klitschcos, so how he thinks he should be taking such a huge payoff is beyond stupid

  6. try and get these in while can at Paddypower.

Haye to win between Rounds 4-6 (inclusive) - 11/4

Haye to win between Rounds 7-9 (inclusive) - 6/1

Both fighters to hit the the canvas (and take a count) - 15/2 (could be worth a cheeky couple of pound)

as much as I would love for harrison to knockout that paper-champion bitch, I just cant see it happening. He hasn't got the pace needed to keep Haye at a distance with his reach. And if he comes out swinging looking to end it early, he might not even get to the 4th Round.

All in all, Im going with Haye to win via stoppage in 6 Rounds

  7. Dumplings works better as a 40 minute short, which can be found on the Three Extremes DVD, along with 'Cut' (by Park Chan-Wook, director of the vendance trilogy) and 'The Box' by Takeshi Miike

Easily the best of the 3. Dumplings is average but it does look super nice.

Yes, we watched Cut last night but we haven't watched the final part yet. I did like Cut but it was too gimmicky at times although there was a nice twist near the end. I'm starting to think that we've actually seen all the really good horror / 'extreme' films that Tartan and Palisades have ever put out though.

The Miike short isnt particulary great, which is usually the case with him. Produces the odd gem between putting out ropey efforts. If you look at the Tartan catalouge, alot of it is complete guff, only seemingly released through riding on the coat-tails of the best few, particularly in the case of Tartan Asia Extreme

Anywho, my fiance bought me American: The Bill Hicks Story on Blu Ray for my birthday, and while there wasnt alot I didnt know already, its very well made with animation/photo hybrid style they chose, and some great rare footage in there too

  8. I watched the new Robin Hood last night.

I won't say that it's necessarily a bad film, but I was disappointed because it wasn't at all the film I wanted it to be. It basically ended with him becoming Robin Hood.. There was no robbing and stealing, sherwood forest-based hijinx, and the Sherrif was merely a footnote.

It was basically a war movie. Not what I wanted at all.

They set it up for a sequel that will probably be the film I was hoping for though, so I reckon I'd watch that.

On the plus side, the guy who played Prince/King John was brilliant.

I rented it the other night. Again, its not terrible, but not great either. It never seemed to get going, I thought there would have been more battle than what there was.

Also, while not perfect, I thought Crowe's accent (of which he was heavily critised) was quite good

  9. Repo - The genetic opera

When I searched for RepoMen (review further up the thread) I got `Repo - The genetic opera` a quick search on wikipedia, sounded interesting and I decided to give it a go.

Isn`t it truely amazing how through pure chance you can find a diamond.

I honestly Loved this film. Not liked, but actually LOVED this movie. It worked on so many levels.

It begins, again, in the not so distant future. With people dying due to a disease that destroys the bodys organs. GenCo arrives on the scene offering transplants to save the dying and at easily affordable prices. But if someone cant upkeep the payments then the body Parts bought can be repossessed and a visit from the RepoMan will take place (sounds familiar!).

So we follow the plight of a 17 year old girl who has to be kept indoors due to a blood problem, her over protective father (played by that guy who played Giles in Buffy), Gencos owner & his 3 weirdo kids (one who`ll just kill you, one who likes to have a face graft now and again and one who is addicted to transplants (played by Paris Hilton)) and the RepoMan. And how all their lives are interweaved.

But the twist is this is a Rock-Opera. An Honest to god musical. I think theres about 6 lines in the whole film that could be considered `spoken` all the rest are sung! In my opinion this is the up to date version of the Rocky Horror Picture show.

If you like gothic, Black lace, Corset, Blood, Meatloaf, Rocky Horror, Gore, Wacko films or any combination there of, you need to give this film a go. I realised within the first 5 minutes I was going to see something excellent. And I think everyone else needs to give it 5 minutes.

A cult classic that I am happy to be part of.

you mean the film that Darren Lynn Bousman spent all of the Saw 4 commentry plugging instead of talking about Saw 4

  10. It's not a film, but over the last few months, I've been watching The Shield on DVD from the start. Its amazing. I'm up to Season 3 now and have to post this to say I'm up to the "Aceveda Sucks A Dick" episode. Fucking mental. Does this show at any point stop kicking the viewers arse? Since I havent really done any research on the Shield, I dont know whats coming next, but fuck me. Didnt expect that one.

buddy, your only just getting started. Season 4 has the introduction of Monica Rawling (played perfectly by Glenn Close). I won't spoil what role she plays, but it has major implications on Vic and the Strike Team, and Season 5 (the best in my opinion) has the always awesome Forest Whitaker played John Kvanagh from Interal Affairs.

I will say though, when you get to Season 5, DO NOT WATCH the Special Feature 'Television Academy Panel' on Disc 3 as it has a MAJOR SPOILER for events on Disc 4

  11. Aston Villa and Bradford Bulls (first win in 13!) messed up my accumulater today. Got the winning margin right in the Wigan/ Hull KR game corect though (even if it did mean betting against my team) so I ended up

  12. I too got hold of the new Maiden album. Surely they have done everything possible with tehir music now. Personally, I don't think they'll never top 'Brave New World'

I've always thought 'Dance of Death' is just as good, if not better, than 'Brave New World'. But conflicts over Maiden albums will result into never ending debates!

'A Matter of Life and Death' is huge too, but in a different way and I imagine (although not having heard the whole thing) 'Final Frontier' will follow a similiar blueprint but with a further push of their creative boundaries.

Also, your sig reminds me Blaze is off on another massive tour soon and I'm hoping to catch him in Southampton having never checked him out live before! His recent solo stuff has been quite impressive. Can't wait :)

Dont get me wrong, both 'Dance Of Death' and 'A Matter Of Life And Death' are both very good albums, but for me, 'Brave New World' is top to bottom perfect. It was when they started to flirt with prod elements, which did more on 'Dance Of Death' and again on this new album.

Go check Blaze out live. He's got a great band with him now, and get the 'Silicon Messish' and 'Tenth Dimension' albums. Truely under-rated, excellent metal albums

Cheers for heads up, I will do just that! I always found his Maiden era underated too, despite many being unfavourable towards it. Steve Harris always speaks highly of those two records though it seems.

Ive said it many times before, it was largely inverted snobbery on the 'hardcore' maiden fans because he wasnt Bruce Dickenson. 'X Factor' is a very good and very dark album. But 'Virtual XI', which has a couple of good tracks, is very ropey in places, which Blaze very unfairly got blamed for when it was poor song writing on everyones part.

Steve Harris and Blaze are still on very good terms
