  1. Just spunked my whole dick off watching the last four episodes of The Wire Season 3. Fucking AMAZING. I get the formula now, and I love it. Though brilliant by any other standards, I now see why the first 6/7 eps of the season seem low on incident. They're weaving layer upon layer of stories forming the complex narrative and multiple motivations for all the characters and their arcs. You don't realise quite how much until you get blitzed with payoff after payoff at the back end of the season, and by that point you're picking your jaw up having watched THE BEST SHOW EVER. I'm pretty sure I posted something similar in this thread around the end of my watching of Season 2 (and maybe even 1), but I just can't help being so enthused at perfection of the craft. Phenomenal, just phenomenal. The show just feels once-in-a-lifetime good.

I'm aware my observations are about 5 years old by the way, but it's all new to me, so go bollocks. And obviously please don't be to spoilery in the thread if you don't mind, I'll be cracking on with Season 4 soon. I'm excited but totally clueless of where they'll go next with it. I'm one day quite excited to read that Wire thread on here, hope it's still kicking about.

  2. Read this and loved it. What do you lot think of this fantasy booking from Fat Scooter Keith on The Shield between now and Mania:

Kane & Bryan was a rare case of pulling the trigger at exactly the right time but they've run their course as champions, and they need to switch the belts to the Shield ASAP and let them do the Freebird thing with them.

I would have them fuck over the Rock's title match (because of the injustice of Rock getting an unearned title shot) and seemingly reveal their allegiance to CM Punk, but that's just me. Just by interacting with Rock they'd immediately jump another 15 notches up the ladder. Then you do Shield v. Rock & Cena for the tag titles at Elimination Chamber and that's where THE MEGAPOWERS EXPLODE to set up the Wrestlemania rematch. Honestly, I'm liking the Punk's title reign v. Undertaker's streak idea at Wrestlemania more and more and I think they should just go with that instead of giving it to Rock.

  3. I'd like a big fuck off thread collecting pictures of all the different gears Shawn Michaels had, just because I like it when wrestlers have loads of different outfits and obviously I'm a big old fruit. People could contribute one or two at a time so everybody can chuck in their favourites because everybody obviously has favourite Shawn Michaels trousers. Is this shit or should it happen? Thanks.

  4. Russo's ace on the new Raw DVD. Fuck it, bring him back in. What's one more body in that convoluted writing system they have now anyway? Not least a mad shite who might plant a few seeds that grow into something good. I know they tried that back in 03 or whenever it was, but it's a different time now.

  5. Will try and sneak in as I have an inkling something big will happen tonight. Last year's TLC was one of my favourite Chat's ever too. Ryder beating Ziggler (how long ago does that seem now??), D-Bry cashing in, and the Nash/HHH underrated classic went down an absolute storm in Chat last year.

DIRTY EDIT: Ah, fuck it. There's a tease of some chat going on here: http://us7.chatzy.com/84970727151608

  6. Just watching the very enjoyable Top 100 Raw Moments documentary, and I've never noticed in the commentary of when Dude Love and Austin won the belts, JR calls Foley a "Sex Idol". Well funny. Awesome, now K-Fed's just come on too for the next moment. K-Fed was fucking brilliant. He got it.

DIRTY EDIT: Ian, those WCW Live shows sound good, a nice companion to the weird alternate WWF world of Byte This. Is there a lot of them kicking around online anywhere? Usual places if I go hunting?

  10. Something we've all covered a lot on here too is the potential for some older guys to bring a bit of grit to the roster backstage too. Maybe empower a few guys to man up once in a while. The older names will obviously be doing plenty of jobs, but hopefully they'll still be wanting a better end result for the guy they're laying down for too. Loads of TV jobs with no purpose is possibly not something a Billy Gunn or Carlito would be that keen to come back for.

  11. I recently got rid of Sky Sports, and since then I've found WWE Experience a very enjoyable way to keep up. As Pity said, you get all the main highlights and I personally think just getting the meat and potatoes makes it seem a lot more exciting rather than seeing it as part of a live three hour struggle. I'll watch Raw on Youtube (or Live if I'm up and Chat's on the go) by habit, and I'll be keeping an eye on NXT when the Kevin Nash/Adrian Neville tapings start airing (when's that due, by the way?). I must get round to Main Event too.

  12. Similar question to that Greater Power one the other day - when, in storyline terms, do you think Austin and McMahon got together before Mania 17? A couple of weeks? After the Rumble? Before Austin even came back? Similarly, when was HHH clued in? I always thought his swerve turn against The Rock on the post-Mania Raw was meant to be him making a decision, so Vince and Austin weren't sure which way he would go. You can't imagine he'd be best impressed knowing ahead of time that Vince and Austin were in cahoots after he'd spent the best part of two years putting him out of action then fighting him upon his return.

  13. Has anybody who downloads at US pace given Go On a look? I took a punt because it started before the other shows and I was desperate for some good new telly. And, well, Matthew Perry's just a treat isn't he?

Anyway, loved it for the most part. Not always piss pants funny, but a nice set of characters with lots of room to build on if the show gains a strong following. Perry's lead character is particularly strong. I haven't checked but I hope it gets renewed for a second season, it's been my favourite weekly watch this year.
