  1. You can't just have a roster full of big badass guys. Henry wouldn't look half as good always going agaisnt someone his size compared to people like Daniel Bryan. Just like how tubby wrestlers are great, but no one wants a roster full of them. You need the right balance of small and big guys to make things work, to emphasise people's strengths and to create fresh match ups. Admittedly WWE is lacking in in the big believable wrestler department right now, but don't under play the importance of the smaller guys ready to put on good technical matches. The key is finding the right balance

  2. I think something that always gets missed is that children are stupid and will like whatever is in front of them. You don't need to change your product to suit them, because they will like it anyway. The 18-35 demographic is a lot harder to please, so gear the product towards them and eventually the kids will come. Plenty of kids watched during the attitude era despite the product not being made for them.

Building the X-Division back up would be enough to get kids interested. Thats all they need to do to pull that market in

  3. If it is to do with the tapings I find it quite an odd thing to advertise as an announcement on TV. It's a business decision really, and I can't see how announcing it on TV does anything other than highlighting to your audience that they've been following a promotion for years that can only just afford to leave the TV studio. It's great news obviously, but not something that needs a TV announcement from Dixie Carter.

Well they need to advertise the areas they will be visiting, to mention it on TV would be a good idea as a start. Logically they should play to their strengths and dress it up as while the Impact Zone is their home and they love the building for all the amazing moments that have happened there, they can't resist the increasing demand to allow more people to enjoy the TNA live experience. They obviously won't come out and say "despite being around ten years, we can only just afford to do the thing everyone has been telling us to do for years."

I hope they prepare a better line of merchandise to sell at live shows to go with this

Just yesterday I was saying on another thread on how the company needs to embrace kids into the product and tap into the next generation of wrestling fans and then this comes along.

Why? WWE already do this very well, TNA should market themselves to a different market and capitalize on doing things WWE can't. Aiming towards an older generation makes more sense for TNA.

TNA don't have a Cena, they have guys like Sting, Hogan, Hardy, Aries, Bully Ray, Styles, Angle and Roode. TNA's main eventers are made up almost entirely of people who would appeal to an older generation

  4. Money in the Bank used to be a nice way of cramming a bunch of people on to the Wrestlemania Card that otherwise would have had nothing to do, but since that has evolved into a concept of its own they could do with something to replace it. I just thought a nice way of doing it would be to have a tournament of say 16 wrestlers on the road to Wrestlemania leading to a four way elimination match on the night. The winner would get some kind of achievement similar to King of the Ring and a title match at Extreme Rules. It would allow for filler TV matches of some importance in the month before while giving a group of guys something to do on the night (such as the 12 men who didnt make it coming out on stage after the match to clap.) This would be a nice little midcard attraction they could progress some of the smaller feuds

  5. You've instantly come up with something better than TNA already has, plus rectifying the issue of "regular TV title matches" (they should do it every week to keep up that promise) also.

Giving non-contracted wrestlers TV title matches would be better how? They might as well chuck the belt in the bin if the only credible challengers are people who nobody else will hire.

That title has always been a joke, they might as well through it into a situation where someone actually benefits from it. For the record I feel it should have been dumped years ago, but if they are intent on keeping it around they should actually use it

It just sends out the wrong message if you are going to have an established wrestler defending his belt against someone who doesn't have a job. Dumping the TV title and having a Gut Check title wouldn't be the worst idea I suppose. Like how WWE has an NXT title. It would give these matches more meaning and like the NXT roster, if you never see them for weeks on end again, you could defend the belt at OVW tapings and show footage of how they are getting on during the GC segments each month.

What can you even do with this Gut Check lot though? TNA basically has to make do with the bare bones now. Anyone in wrestling who is rated highly is off to WWE. El Generico was going to do the special 3 hour X Division show TNA is doing but WWE snapped him up so thats not happening. They wanted PAC but he went to WWE instead. I couldn't imagine someone like Prince Devitt leaving Japan for anyone other than WWE. Christian York, Joey Ryan, Wes Brisco and Rob Van Dam are as good as the X Division is getting by the looks of it.

Think you are being quite nit picky with the idea of abandoning the Television Title and having a new pointless Title in its place, especially when the belt they already have could do its job just fine. The belt is already at a low level, having it successfully defended against outside talent wouldn't harm it at all. Most weeks the gut check could be more like a squash match, literally no name jobber boys just getting battered by a solid technical wrestler. It would only have to be occasionally that someone actually put up a decent fight and gives us a nice ten minute match.

  7. If they are going to do it I would much rather they stick to the formula they already have of picking one good worker who isn't doing anything and putting them in there to work with the often green guys. Doug Williams was perfect for the role. Infact fuck it, do gut check every week with Williams. After the match give him the mic and let him decide on the spot if he thinks they are good enough to be there. While they are at it put the Television Title on him and make each gut check a title match, meaning if they win Williams doesn't get a choice about if they stay

  8. If Rock and Cena are both in the elimination chamber they could put Cena in first, with Rock coming out last. They spend the whole match eyeing eachother up, eager to go at it only for a heel like Punk to cheat his way into eliminating Cena just before Rock comes out. They majorly tease a confrontation with out pulling the trigger and pile all that heat onto the heel. The fans would go home happy as the Rock comes out his pod to kick ten shades of shit out of the heel

Edit: they could even have Cena batter the heel for taking away his chance at getting his win back. Cena and Rock exchange punches before the chamber fills with refs to get Cena out. Rock and Cena spend a while beating up refs and security until Cena hits the attitude adjustment on the Rock allowing Punk to pin him. That sets up a triple threat at Mania. Attitude-tastic

  9. Stoner conspiracy moment: What if the greatest work of all time is Cena actually being WWE's top heel for the past however many years. Everything he does is cleverly designed to make the older fans detest him. From the STF to shit eating grin, we are supposed to boo him all while they make a fortune from the kids. "JBL is poopy? Yeah that will piss off everyone over 12 more than saying their football team is shit."

  10. So if Al Snow believes the best match at Wrestlemania III was Andre/Hogan then he is also admitting that Edge was a far better wrestler than him. Which also means that his opinion holds rank over Al Snow. Which means we can use the word moveset

  11. Him vs Chris Benoit

Benoit could have had a good match with a plastic fork so that doesn't really say much at all

Watch the match then. And Benoit couldn't have a great match with anyone as proven quite a few times.

Admittedly I haven't seen that match and of course I was exaggerating to get my point across. But if you are listing great matches and one of them is with Benoit then it doesn't really prove your point. If he was that good then surely you would haven been able to make a decent list off the top of your head

  12. Punk doesn't want change. Punk wants to be on top. He'd happily see his friends off to the job centre if he was the prime focus of everything and the company was built around him. That became clear when he stayed last summer.

How do you work that out? Not trying to start a petty argument that never ends or any of that crap but I am genuinely intrigued as to what you mean.

  13. Yeah but thats still just one side. A GM who is desperate for everyone to love him, will go out of his way to put on (what he thinks is) an amazing show, easily influenced by everyone he comes into contact with and could do something crazy and unexpected at any time. All being done in an entertaining way where you can't help but like him.

Well I think its better than another yet another cookie cutter Heel GM or boring Face one who does nothing
