  1. I've seen so many worse things in a wrestling ring

This is true. Women have been treated like shit in a wrestling ring for so long now that its easy to lose perspective on things like this. The key difference is how the individual feels participating in it.

On a side note I'm so glad we don't see women getting beaten up by men anymore. Whenever the crowd cheered stuff like that it made me feel sick

  2. I'd say a key part of it all is the relationship between Aries and Hemme backstage. If they are friends and he knows she doesn't take things like this seriously then its a different story to if they never have any interaction/are acquaintances. You know what you can get away with around friends. There are things I would say and do with certain female friends I'd never dream of doing to a girl I hardly know. Depending on context this could either be a molehill or mountain.

Basically if Christy doesn't care no one else should, but if she does then there is a problem. Aries should have known if she would care before hand

  3. There are ways to work around that. Lesnar and Ryback both came across well in edited pre taped interviews a lot better than they ever could in the ring with a live mic. Not to mention the roster will never become good at promos unless they are made to work on it and given a chance to develop it

Edit: Was just about to add pretty much what Arch said

  4. WWE will never be able to compete artistically with Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, though. Not with a live 3 hour show that has an ad break every 5 minutes. Wrestling fans don't want complex plotlines, anyway. They want large, charismatic men threatening each other in a theatrical manner before the goodie gets redemption.

Yeah I think its pretty obvious this is the type of TV I was talking about, but I suppose I did leave myself wide open for those.

WWE story lines could do with being a hell of a lot more complex than they are. Outside of the main stories, whatever feuds are going on a either boring by the books or non existent. The amount of times Ziggler and Kingston have faced each other (in good matches) we should be able to talk in depth about this great rivalry. Instead each match is just another for no reason. WWE should be creating an environment where if you miss the product for a week you don't have a clue whats going on, instead you could miss it for a month and it wouldn't really matter

Edit: I was going to mention TNA as an example of how more complex stuff would work. You hardly ever see anyone on TV that couldn't be given a mic and talk for five minutes about what is going on with them

  5. I can understand why Cena wouldn't appeal to someone, he doesn't massively to me particilarly. I do however, find his evolution, the evolution of his character and how it's been handled quite fascinating. I actually think what Cena is and represents was the inevitable next top guy in WWE following the 80's and 90's booms.

I 100% agree on the first part of your statement. I enjoy the split opinion, crowd reactions and his evolution as a whole a lot more than anything he actually does. The second part I don't agree with.

Wrestling should reflect pop culture of the time. It should bounce off what is the general public enjoy. When we had the Attitude era the world was going nuts for Jerry Springer and South Park. Now we have programs that are a lot more intelligent, with complicated plots and serious characters. People don't want their intelligence insulted anymore

  6. Cena has the strongest, most well established and developed, real, consistent character going.

That is all well and true, but it doesnt mean that character will be fun for everyone to watch. I don't care if its a strong character if its one that does not appeal to me. I'm sure Corrie and Eastenders have some brilliant characters too, but if they are targeted towards middle aged women then why would that interest me?

  7. For all of Cena's good qualities he really is not a mans man. I'd quite happily shag his missus knowing he'd turn around and just say "I don't like what you did, but I respect you and just plan to make poopy jokes about you." Stone Cold, Batista, The Rock, Tripple H, Lesnar and Punk wouldn't never react the way he does to conflict. Even when The Rock would make jokes about opponents he looked like he would kick your teeth.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Cena is shit and Punk is great, which is just fine. I am Punk's target audience, not Cena's. As long as there is someone for the adults to like along with someone for the kids to like WWE are doing fine.

  8. Shame how Austin Aries is now a midcard tag team attraction. He was really over at one point. They are starved for babyfaces at the minute. Turning him was a big mistake I reckon.

I wouldn't say it's a shame. He's hardly stuck there, him and Roode could slot right back into the mainevent when needed.

When you think about it they had the rise of Aries, Jeff's redemption and the final chapter to the Beer money saga which could have headlined BFG. That's a lot better than WWE have managed for Wrestlemania. Other than Rock/Cena what could they have really done?

  9. Graves is great and I can see him developing a strong following once he gets called up.

The Neville/Cesaro match was awesome, if that had been on the UK Raw with Cesaro dropping the title to him it would have been the perfect platform to start Neville's WWE run. I know that's asking a lot but it's better than what they did with Kofi

  10. I'd have to respectfully disagree in regards to CM Punk, whilst he might not be classicaly good looking, he is definitely very physically appealing. I've always had a bit of a thing for him and know quite a few other women who have too. Its not the tattoos before anyone claims its that, they look like he let some 7 year olds go wild with some magic markers.

Judging by experience it defiantly helps that he has tattoos.

    Stay defiant, dude.

    DOUBLE JOKE!!

Enjoyed that one, Lister, well played.

Went right over my head until I read my post back. Just gonna go with the standard "blame my phone's auto correct"

  12. Just tattooed one of the Godfather's hoes. Someone posted an interview with him recently and said they used to find them at local strip clubs, which is true. They got paid 500 quid each and were all taken out with the wrestlers after the show. She's late 30s now and holding up well

  13. I have about 1500 facebook friends and have met about 1000 of them in person (at an extremely rough guess.) I take most of my bookings through it and have to accept everyone in case they want to get tattooed. Also friends with about 100/200 tattooists. Social media (mainly Instagram) is amazing for sharing ideas and inspiration.

I will say I really hate twitter, can't stand the thing

  14. And she also constantly holds normal conversations on facebook, the sort of shit where you normally send a text, or even pick up a phone, rather than hold it on facebook walls so everyone can read it (or just skim past it, because really, who wants to read this kind of mundane crap?:

I have one mate who I do this with a lot, although its always on other peoples statuses/pictures.

  15. Why are you spoiler tagging a fantasy booking scenario?

Dunno, but I wish I hadn't read it, now I know who Curry Man is :(

Exactly, some people still dont know who he is and you would be a dick to ruin it for them.

Or it was first thing in the morning and had only seen the results posted and didn't notice the actual card had been released, thus not knowing if talking about the card would count as spoilers. I prefer the first excuse though

  16. TNA 10 PPV Fantasy booking:

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

The X-Division match looks weak for something that has been so important to TNA. I'd have rather seen a big multi tag spotfest. Team up current X guys against a few old faces so they'd have King, RVD, Ion, York and Kazarian against Jay Lethal, Petey Williams, Sonjay Dutt, Shark Boy and Curry Man. The current guys get the win after arguing among themselves when Curry Man unmasks, fucks over Shark Boy and allows Kaz to get the win. Leading to everyone hitting their finishers on Bad Influence just because they are dicks.
