A few more wrestling ones that I quite like...

then bumping in to Vince Russo in Starbucks. He really wasn't a fan of that Sting/Hardy match.

What was he like? For some reason I imagine him being dead sound to talk to if you were to bump into him.
He was a nice guy, typical New Yorker. Said sorry for the main event being shit as well, which was good of him!

I did a PPV and subsequent TV tapings over a three day period a couple of years back. I remember thinking how small the venue was then, but it was cosy and intimate, a fun enough place to go watch wrestling (even if the main event of the PPV only went about 45 seconds (yeah, I went to that show). There were wrestlers all over the place too around the local area, I specifically remember seeing Tommy Dreamer and Robbie E in Walgreen, and then bumping in to Vince Russo in Starbucks. He really wasn't a fan of that Sting/Hardy match.

Didn't they turn Slaughter heel for the night in Canada, basically trolling the crowd? Obviously just a one night thing, but I seem to remember it being fun. The Dutchman is a way better choice for a mouthpiece, mind you.

Just watched Regal vs Ohno, it's bloody awesome.

Looking at Rockin Rebel's Gut Check profile, I find it astounding that he has been working for years and doesn't have an even slightly professional looking promo pic to give them.
-
- Steve Blackman shows up on this week's JBL and Cole Show. Still looks to be in great shape, and doesn't look that old at all. Someone on the indies should be throwing money at him to do a match or two if he's able.

Anyone watch Smackdown? Brad Maddox on commentary was brilliant.
He was good, but he was better that one time he did Main Event. Still probably the best thing on a pretty awful Smackdown though.

And after.

They should also bring in Caylon Croft.
Trent Barretta, surely?
-
Randy Orton should have kept the 'Evolution' theme his WHOLE career, missed oppertunity. That theme rocked so much.
But then we'd never have got those creepy signs in the crowd saying stuff like "Randy, I hear voices too". Swings and roundabouts.

Watching NXT from this week, Michael McGuillicutty's getting really good. I mean, there's still no particular reason to care about him, but he was so much better than usual. I remember his feud of sorts with Tyson Kidd was entertaining too, but I really dug him on this week's show.

Tatanka's TV debut was against Tanaka. They'd never let something like that get through the net these days.
Maven worked Raven in 2002 on Raw, but I seem to recal the announcers just made a bit of a joke about it.

There was a thing in the last Powerslam that was accurate. It was about Kofi Kingston, and how it's going to take more to elevate him than just the commentators saying he's more aggressive now. It annoys me that they keep pushing that "wildcat" thing so much when his act hasn't changed at all. And Kofi's my favourite wrestler!
Totally, even down to still clapping prior to Trouble in Paradise, and stuff like the Boom Drop. Thought that for a while now, it's like they want to make him seem different without changing anything that makes him appealing to the kids for fear of him losing popularity. Which seems fair enough, except it's just not working with Kofi.

No idea, but I imagine way fewer (or perhaps nobody) people on here stay up for Raw now and stay awake for all of it now that it's three hours long.Going back to a discussion we had a couple of weeks ago, the Raw thread wasn't started until 10am today, meaning that this one is probably a bunch of crap?

I turned 30 the other week, and I have only just discovered that I like brown sauce. I am now in love with it, HP Guiness brow sauce is amazing. I can't see me ever eating a pork pie without brown sauce now, and i am quite gutted I thought I didn't like brown sauce for so long.
Â
Anyone else discovered a food they thought they didn't like later on in life?
That's so weird, save has just happened to me with brown sauce, although I still prefer tomato or BBQ. I liked it as a kid, and then for whatever reason just decided I didn't like it any more, and only just tried it again a week or so back.

I like how the Atlanta news appears to be a Tyler Perry sitcom.

I can understand them being used throughout Smackdown, whether it be two singles matches and a bunch of backstage skits but I don't really watch SD all too often so I'm happy with seeing them used a reasonable amount on Raw. I think the key to enjoying WWE is to not watch Smackdown.
The key is to watch everything, but to either do it via Youtube or Sky+. You'll likely get a good couple of hours viewing a week.

Al Snow and Coach did a bunch of indie dates around 02/03 time, although the rules are probably (especially for Lawler) more lenient towards commentators.
-
John, you legend! I've been wanting to see that since I read about it in The Wrestling.
-
I love Oreos, but the brownie's are fucking rotten. Dry as anything.

Just started watching Dave Taylors shoot interview. Funniest fucking thing I've seen in ages. First 30 seconds he says "fuck" about 5 times. Didn't realise he's so hilarious. He hasn't lost any of his accent either. Awesome bloke.
I once did photos for a show where he wrestled Drew McDonald, which must have been the most sweary match of all time. "Ooooh, 'eees gonna rip me foookin' arm off" was uttered once, amongst many "fuck" usages. Great match too. He is a great guy, really down to Earth. Agreed that the shoot interview is a lot of fun.

WWE's Youtube channel has a playlist called Sunday Night Heat with a chance of Thunder. It's got a bunch of really cool Heat matches, and a few from Thunder thrown in for good measure.

I'm probably the only one, but I enjoyed the main event from this week more than the Cesaro/Neville match. Both were really good TV matches, but I thought the former had more drama to it, and the hot crowd helped a bunch, even if it wasn't quite the reaction that was intended. The whiplash spot on the ropes that Wade did on Bo was outstanding, and whilst I'm not normally a big fan at all, Bo to his credit sold really well throughout the match. He kind of reminds me of a Dustin Rhodes lite (lite lite lite).
