  1. Fingerpoke of Doom-hah! It was akin to Nash and Hogan on Nitro actually!

EastEnders is pissing all over Corrie at the moment. However, I think there's some good stuff due on CS in the coming months, whereas the new Easties showrunner is resorting to bringing back the abysmal Daniella Westbrook and recasting Lucy Beale. WHY??!! The actress who plays Lucy now is perfectly fine.

Don't be surprised if EE enters a rough patch later this year. Some of the casting decisions being made right now are crazy. Though it was obvious Ben Mitchell needed recasting sooner or later.

They surely can't just recast a character like that as it will take away a lot of the realism and continuity of the show. I know they did it with Sam Mitchell, but she was gone for a while before they replaced Westbrook and then gone again for another while before they brought Westbrook back so it's understandable. I know they recast characters in soaps all the time, but to do it to one that's a regular face at the minute is just silly. They'd need to have her sent away for a good year at least before bringing her back and managing to make it look at least a bit credible.

Eastenders moves to HD in the Autumn and they're apparently going toSPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

    burn down the Queen vic

as a way of signing off from the old sets and moving into the new. Eastenders best stories have now come to an end as far as I'm concerned, so it will undoubtedly hit a long winded rough area that will have me switch off for a while. The story involving Max's daughter falling in love with that Darren is just awful so I hope that fucks off quickly. I can see the Zoey Lucker's character and her story being the next big climactic story possibly ending in another death or some form of shock reveal.

  2. Wow. That looks fucking amazing. That trailer's suddenly turned it from "OK, will probably pop along at some point" to "Holy fuck, got to see this the second it comes out" for me. I'm liking very much the way they've structured this.

Couldn't agree more. The trailer gave me goosebumps at how confident I am that this will be amazing

  3. Eastenders was really good last night, with that Denise storyline. Best work they have done for a long time. What I don't get is, how did Lucas get in if there was that board against the door?

I imagine there was a back way to get in and I think Denise has just headed for the front door.

  4. You may also like this, the villain of the film.

Which I posted like 6 months ago. He is not the villain Its just a armour. Loki is the Villain and he uses this to fight Thor. But Loki will be inside it.

    Ah right.

Getting a bit more excited for this film as images are being released for it. Getting a bit more excited for GL too.

    Edit:

  5. Can someone please tell me what this Denise alive stuff is all about? I read it on facebook, but did see it. As far as what I watch goes, Home & Away is the only one I never miss. Other than that I perhaps see Emmerdale, Corrie and Eastenders once a week in the pub at best.

Well Lucas was supposed to have killed Denise as he identified "her" body and they had the funeral on Friday, but it turns out she wasn't dead and is being locked up by him. Don Gilet is a superb actor, it'll be a shame when he finally goes from the show.

  6. As for last nights twist, Steve, I didn't like it. As a twist it worked great but it's one of those storylines that has me agreeing with people who say the show is too miserable. Bit too dark for my liking.

The twist was good, although I felt from the moment he identified her in the mortuary and you didn't see her face, that she was still alive. Sadly, surely this is the beginning of the end for Lucas, who is a super character played by a great actor. The character always only had a finite time on the show, but I really expected them to drag out the Owen buried in the Square storyline.

In regards to the show being too dark and miserable, I have to agree. Not only do you have the Lucas and Denise storyline, but there is the Ronnie being sexually abused by her father which they are now doing, the Ben being sent down leading to Phil becoming a druggie, and an upcoming fire in the square.

I agree it's very dark and miserable, but I love a good drama and Eastenders at its best can be the most brilliant thing on TV.

  7. So what did people think of tonights Eastenders (those who watched it of course)?

Had sort of an idea that the "murder" of Denise would end in a twist, but I still found myself being shocked by the whole reveal of it. Excellent stuff I have to say.

  8. Coronation Street and Neighbours are the only two I watch and based on the quality of the two right now I have voted for Coronation Street.

I watch Coronation Street fairly regularly, one of the great strengths of Coronation Street is you can go without watching it for weeks at a time and then get caught up with it fairly quickly. It also has a great mix of characters and it

  9. The very same. The story about that is that Channel 4 controller Michael Jackson axed Brookside, and Phil Redmond, not being a typical bitter scouser at all, brought in Jack Michaelson who RUINED LIVES. That was also the reason for Jimmy Corkhill's shit soapbox speech. But to be fair, the Michaelson stuff was shit hot.

There is the possibility we may see a return of Brookside in the future as there's renovation work going on with the close. I hope to see it come back one day as I loved Brookside.

  10. What did people think of last nights Eastenders and the way they brought the Syed and Christian story to a seeming end? Personally I thought it was a great way to end the storyline in a positive way rather than the tragic and dramatic way you would usually expect it to end.

  11. EastEnders has been tremendous under Diederick Santer and it's the only soap I stand a chance of watching most nights. Corrie just does absoloutely nothing for me, whereas EastEnders feels like a Snatch Lite at it's best. And it's got Phil Mitchell. And I hear he hits the crack pipe pretty soon. That's got me watching.

Definitely agree with you there. Eastenders has its boring bits, but you can always count on it to create an amazing storyline that can draw you back in. Corrie seems too much like a comedy show to be taken seriously and I can just never get into it the same way I can with Eastenders.
  12. Need Fez.

I've had a Fez for years. Fez's are cool.

Someone I know seems convinced River Song is an older Amy Pond.

    Don't see it myself!

I'm pretty sure she isn't too, but over the last 2 episodes I both considered that she maybe or that she was a future version of The Doctor, who much like Tennant had forgotten who she was. Of course the latter was easily ruled out. I am intreagued by River though and I have a feeling that she may turn out to be a future enemy of The Doctor.

I'd be dissappointed if it was suddenly decided that The Doctor can change sex when regenerating, although I don't thing that she'll turn out to be The Doctor as it's been mentioned that her significance in The Doctor's life is for something quite bad.

    Nah...

As a side note, I finally saw what others see in Alex Kingston.

Moll Flanders is currently being repeated on some channel, if you so desire to see her frollicking with her baps out.

    Could she be The Rani?

According to Wikipedia it's been hinted that she's had a relationship with the Doctor, so would be interesting to see it turn into something like that. Not being familiar with the old series' I'm pretty much non-the-wiser as to their past conflicts.

  13. Really another excellent episode and will hopefully work well in establishing Smith as taking Tennants reign as the greatest Doctor of all time. I like the idea of some plot lines crossing through into further series such as why the TARDIS exploded and what is meant by the "Silence" that we heard a few times. I'm really hyped for the next series now.
