  1. Didn't JCW have a black and white striped coloured ring sometime before 2004?

    Looked pretty swanky.

I wonder if the clowns had it custom made.

I think they mention on commentry that they bought a boxing ring (and probably padded it out a little). The one they use on JCW Vol. 1 is horrible, but yeah you're right it was a pretty cool design. The ring they replace it with in Vols 2 & 3 (and I guess they still use) is a massive improvement.

  2. I'm off to see My Bloody Valentine tonight. A question for anyone who's watched it (and don't say 'wait till you watch it') is the whole film in 3D or just parts?

I'm really looking forward to seeing the film, but it's got a long way to got to better Role Models, my current film of the year (though I don't expect that to last long, especially as I haven't seen The Wrestler yet).

  3. Whats the best website for the paranormal shizzle?

    Forum wise, I use http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...sion/index.php/

There's plenty of morons on there, but enough sceptics and entertaining folks to balance it out. Looking at the front pages to each sub-forum isn't always as riot, but the fun is in looking through older threads (unless somethings conclusively been disproven, discussions can't really be 'out-of-date). There's also an alright video and photo archive if you register.

And that wind turbine thing is impressive, to say the least! I hope some follow up information comes out on it.

  4. oh does anyone remember a magazine called The X Factor? i have like 3 binders full of them things in my wardrobe, think i'll dust them off tomorrow too. Lots of good shit in them mags.

I think my mate used to get that magazine. If I'm thinking of the same thing, an image from the magazine has stuck with me ever since- of a snake that ate this man's head. Such a disturbing pic.

I'm totally gonna have to look on eBay for some copies of this magazine now!

  5. An odd one.

how many covers, VHS and DVD, has kane been on for PPV'S,

and if possible what events are they

A quick glance shows these ones:

    No Way Out 1998

    Judgement Day 1998, 2000, 2007

    No Mercy 2002

    Unforgiven 2003, 2004

    One Night Stand 2008

I think you must've got a bit mixed up with the last one. He didn't even appear on the show, let alone the cover. In fact, Kane has never appeared on any of the One Night Stand's (unless he was in the '05 show-closing brawl, which I don't think he was). Though, I can't think was show you must have meant instead...

A question from moi: just watched the Abyss vs. Sting "Last Rite's" match from Destination X. I still maintain it's a really good match. The sight of Sting's blood mixing in with his white facepaint, like a non-sexually-depraved Strawberry Cheesecake, is a fantastic image. Did Sting blade, or was he busted open hardway? If he bled hardway, was he meant to bleed in the match anyway?

  6. Wild In The UK, WH SMITH exclusive via tokens. :)

The Wild in the UK VHS was also free with an issue of the short-lived WWF Poster Magazine, around 2002. Really good for a freebee. It had Hardyz/E&C, a fatal-fouway for the WWF championship, HBK/Bulldog, and one other match that I forget.

Also, for the guy who asked about FCW, the link given earlier in this thread has the weekly shows up:

    Galaxia Wrestling

  7. An open letter to President Elect Obama, by Robert M. Stanley (author of 'Close Encounters on Capitol Hill') asking for UFO disclosure:

    http://www.unicusmagazine.com/pres.htm

It's quite an interesting read and suprisingly quite well written.. It's even illustrated with photos, although they look like a combination of fakes and photo defects.

A lot of American believers are pinning their hopes of Obama finally releasing UFO 'secrets' to the public.

  8. Re-watching Shane vs Vince from WM X7, I realised that I really have no clue who half the WCW guys in the Sky Box are!

I can spot Stacey Kiebler/Miss Hancock, Lance Strom and Booker T, but that's about it.

I imagine it's a pretty easy question for most, but any idea who the rest were?

  9. Anyone able to answer my question on the BBFC classification? Or indeed any information on BBFC clasification of WWF/E (e.g. why some 2004 release got 18s (WM XX etc), when the content seemed no worse than 15 rated material from 2003, and then they slacked off again)?Cheers.

  10. As everyone's discussing Cineworld, I feel I should discuss my issues with them, minor though they are.I'd love to take advantage of their Unlimited ticket, as the price is great and I'd really makethe most of it. However, the nearest to me is jsut to far away to make the transport costs to get there not worth it.

how is the fact you dont live that near a cineworld their fault?
They should have the common courtesy to move their establishment closer to wherever I choose to live...(okay, so I wrote the first bit, realised I didn't really have any arguments against them, and couldn't be arsed to delete the first paragraph)To give me posting again a little bit of value, I'll share some recently viewed films.I watched Evan Almighty at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite my love of Steve Carrell, I was expecting a cheap cash in and the lack of expectation probably helped me enjoy the film more. While obviously not as good as Bruce Almighty, it was still funny in parts and had it's touching moments.I've had a lot of films saved on my SKY box that I thought 'fuck it, I'll never get round to watching them' and deleted, but I did watch the beginging of 'Vault of Horror' which was very dated, the begining of 'Oldboy' which was weird but I'd like to watch the trilogy from the start, and 'The Faculty' which was brilliant and quite clever, despite what sounded a stupid premise.I've borowed Casino Royale, as I saw the start of it last week and loved it, and I've got Creep to watch from E4 last night, which I've wanted to see for ages.I love the time around Hallowe'en, as there's always a ton of great horror films on!

However, the nearest to me is jsut to far away to make the transport costs to get there not worth it.There's an Odeon 15-20 minutes walk from my house, but they don't have a cinmea ticket offer, which is really annoying, as I'd snap one up in an instant, even if it was a few quid more than the Cineworld one. There's so many good films out the next couple of weeks and I know I won't be able to afford to go see all the ones I want. Grr!

  12. Just 2 questions cos I can't remember the others I had stored up to ask:1. When someone's doing a promo (e.g. Triple H on the SmackDown just gone), there's often a little black box under one of the turnbuckles in the ring. What on earth is it for?2. What can anyone tell me about WWF releases receiving 'Except from Classification' ratings from the BBFC? How did they get away with it? Did the BBFC think wrestling was a legit sport? How long did it last and when/why was it revoked? It's especially perplexing when a show like Rock Bottom IYH had violence, blood, bad language, a strip tease, and even attempted murder on 2 occasions! Even on it's DVD re-release in 2001ish, it still got an E rating.Ta muchly.

  13. I've never heard any conspiracy theories regarding Challenger or anything specific about Apollo 1 (apart from one of the astronaut's sons claiming it was murder). Anybody know of anything?

I believe the theory goes that Virgil Ivan 'Gus' Grissom, one of the crew on Apollo 1, 'knew too much' and so the fire was orchestrated to make sure the truth, whatever ever it was, didn't get out. He was quite outspoken about something, but I don't remeber what. There's no evidence of foul play that I know of, but his family was looking for someone to blame after his death. The other theory goes that after that tragedy, NASA made the call that it was too dangerous to send someone too the moon and instead faked the whole thing. For my money, I partially believe the Apollo conspiracies. There's too much evidence and NASA have done a pretty poor job of arguing their corner. I believe that, although the rocket went into space, some or all of the moon footage was recorded else where, or, at the very least, the footage recorded on the moon was severly tampered with.Even as a child looking at the photos and videos of the landings, they've always looked fake and 'not quite right' to me. All the equiptment they used, from the moon lander, to the buggies, seemed far too flimsy to be practical.
  14. weather_balloon.gif

:D lol That's brilliant (and scarily accurate)!! I hope to God there's a poster of that I can track down somewhere! Something that might interest some people, is that the MoD has started releasing previously classified UFO files as of Monday gone:http://ufos.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ (there's only 8 or so reports at the moment, but this will be constantly updated as more records are released)Also, as most people will know, France has been releasing their UFO files for around a year now:http://www.cnes-geipan.fr/ (all in French, obviously)
  15. I saw a UFO once. There was a very bright light in the sky, completely stationary, like a star but about 4 or 5 times the size. If I remember right, it was white, then kinda blue-green, then white again. Suddenly it dropped almost to the horizon, stopped then shot off to the right at a ridiculous speed before vanishing. Each movement took only a split second, so it wasn't a shooting star, and the stop and the right angle move were certainly not natural.I have no idea what it was, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Clearly, it was marsh gas igniting ;)This is the thing, we're not all stupid. The fast changes in motion of objects like the one you saw are a common element of sightings and basically rule out the normal debunk theories. Assuming it's not little green men, then it's a man-made craft, either manned or unmanned, and at that point it's just a question of who made it and why.
It's a weather balloon! That's what a man in a black suit with no pupils told me last night. Then he shined a light in my face and then I forgot what happened...
  16. I'm confused, what's happening in that video?

If you mean the second video, here's a brief explanation:

STS-75: The Tether IncidentOn Sunday, February 25, 1996, the Space Shuttle Columbia deployed an experimental tether into orbit. The experiment was called the Tethered Satellite System (TSS- 1R) and it's purpose of this was to attempt to generate electricity by utilizing Earth's magnetic field.Unfortunately the tether broke so the experiment was not a success, although approximately five hours of data were recorded. What really made "The Tether Incident" famous was the appearance of many unidentified flying objects (UFOs) clearly visible in the NASA footage. Conspiracy theorists rejected NASA's explanation of space debris and ice particles, while conspiracy debunkers pointed out that the UFO theory doesn't stack up. For example, if the UFOs were as big as the conspiracy theorists claim, they would have been clearly visible from the ground.

And, Kenny, unless I'm missing a very subtle joke, that's an amazing account. I can't think off the top of my head a logical explanation. The fact that it moved fast and 'intelligently' is the most interesting bit. The wacky colours, less convinving of it being extraterestrial.
  17. Anybody seen this?

A VIDEO has been released that claims to show aliens and their spacecraft with one UFO researcher calling it the "most important images of a UFO ever filmed".The vision was taken by 42-year-old night guard Yalcin Yalman in a compound in Turkey earlier this year, The Sun reports.

I only saw it mentioned in the Sun but my Dad said he heard it mentioned on the radio earlier today. Looks pretty fake to me, the close up shots of the craft at night at least, nothing else is seen in the night sky to give scale except for a few seconds when 'the moon' appears, though it looks to me like some other light source (a light bulb, a glass plane lit from behind, etc) shot in such a way as to look like the moon. The footage taken of the lights on the horizon during daylight look like they could be real, at one point a fisherman on the beach seems to take notice of them as well. I'd imagine they got some genuinely strange footage of lights in the sky and decided to splice in some shocking footage of the craft close up in the hope of attracting a bit of press broo-ha-ha.
I *think* this is the video you mentioned (not able to watch YouTube @ work, so can't be positive):
It should last just under 10 minutes if it's the right video.I wasn't overly impressed. Whatever it is seems large and an intersting shape, but there is nothing else visible to show it's size / prove it's in the sky. 'The moon' does add some cred, but it's out of foucs, so could really be anything. Also, I can't see any of alleged aliens in the craft, as the vid is just too blurry. IMO, it's no where near being the best UFO footage ever. For me, the most convincing footage is still the NASA tether incident, as the offical explanations just don't seem credible to me:
  18. THE SINGLE GREATEST THING EVER AT THE MOMENT!:Creepy Gnome returns to town of Clodomira, province of Santiago del Estero, Argentina:http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...icle1817406.eceafter the first major sighting in March of this year:http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...icle1817406.eceHere's three videos from the original incident:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6X7n4RAboshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHXEqC5BCus (a mystery 'alternative version' of the first video, which casts a massive ammount of doubt on the who thing)http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1015181/duende/And two videos from the second incident:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6X7n4RAboshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGRLRHkz8JsIn the Argentinian press the local government has admitted they've known about this 'creature' terrorising the town for over 20 years.A couple of posts of the excellent and unbiased Unexpalined-Mysteries forum recount credible experiences reported in the local press:

Please note that this is the SECOND time this year that the dwarf has been video-recorded in Argentina and the SIXTH major Argentinian dwarf sighting flap over the past six or seven years. In the very first spate of sightings, over several days, the dwarf terrorized two street cops and a soldier, so severely that two of them had to be hospitalized on suicide watch. (The dwarf knocked over the soldier's sentry box and then tossed him up into the branches of a tree! This was also witnessed by a second sentry.)That seems to be the common denominator between all the dwarf sightings - fear, even abject terror.

    and an interesting reply

I don't know about you but I could be fairly easily terrorized by just about anybody able to toss me up into the branches of a tree. His fellow-sentry seems to have also been scared, although not as severely. And there was also the cop....Actually there were two police officers. In the first episode, which seems to have been the very first sighting of all, a patrolman flashed his light down an alley during the wee hours. He saw what appeared to him to be a boy around eight-years-old. He decided to approach the kid and put the fear of the Lord into him for being out so late. But when he reached the "child" it turned out to be a very old man."Go....away," ordered the old man.The cop took off running. He didn't slow down for 10 blocks. In the other "cop" case, two or three days later, radio-car officers failed to raise base.So they drove back to investigate. They found the radio dispatcher crouching under his desk, whimpering."He said he was going to take me to Hell!" he cried. "He said he was here to take me to Hell!"It seems the dwarf had been by to pay a social call.Like the soldier after that, the cop had to be hospitalized under suicide watch.

  19. With the slew of 3PW DVD's out on the cheap at the mo, I'm wanting to get my hands on a couple.

Can anyone recommend any of the shows?

EDIT to incorporate answers to questions posed earlier in this thread:

Watching some old TNA i've got a few questions:

    Whatever happened to Mortimer Plumtree?

Vince Russo had issues with him and released him from his TNA contract. Since then, I don't think he's really been involved in wrestling much, only wrestling a couple of independent matches since.

    Who played Fluff Dupp?

She was played by someone called Seven Briggs:

    http://www.glorywrestling.com/gg/SevenBriggs/SB.asp

She also has an official website, but it seems to be down at the moment.

What week did they hold a Tag Team gauntlet match that had Syxx Pac as Scott Hall's partner?

My browser is being stupid and crashing, but if you type 'syxx scott hall tag tna' into Google, one of the top couple of sites should give you your answer.

And, as far as I know, Edge is off TV recuperating various injuries he's racked up over the years and/or the writers don't have a way to bring him back yet/have nothing for him to do. I expect him to return in time for Survivor Series.
