  1. I couldn't personally get into the third one(Kid not having the big hair anymore didn't seem right either).

The first two though were jam packed with little quotes that the mates and I would reel off to each other...

"...we're gonna kick your fucking aaaaaasssssss....."

And I'll never forgot the lasses who knocked around with us trying to copy the bg dance off routine from the first film and looking like they were having fits instead!

  2. I am about to watch cult classic House Party for the first time in about 15 years. I'm excited. I hope it stays the test of time

I still love the first 2 House Party films!

Round my neck of the woods, House Party was like our generation's American Pie. A film that we had all seen but deren't let our parents know whe had, as we were certain they wouldn't agree with it...

  3.

That acting/dubbing video has made my day...wonderful!

Are these the Ninja movies that were just low budget dramas that had random Ninja scenes inserted or were they actually made as Ninja films???

    ReyPiste nails it here

most of which were 2 films stitched together to make one convoluted mess of a film. Mostly starring a drunk Richard Harrison who shot stuff for a few days and ended up in a dozen different films.

Basically footage bought on the cheap from unreleased or incomplete movies, with additional NINJA and plot scenes filmed with western actors, then the whole thing re-dubbed to try and make a coherent plot.

    The latter is never achieved

The stuff about Harrison is ace.  Filmed a handful of scenes for one film, then ended up in dozens of the fuckers.

No NINJA's have any second name, and all have wonderful first names like 'Brian' or 'Tony' or 'Derek'.

Going to have to try and delve into them...

I love hilariously crap films, but have always concentrated on horror movies, but it looks like Ninja films may be just as good!

  4. Cod eye you should download the episode of Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard on Royal Rumble 97. They go pretty in depth on the process and how much instruction and detail are applied to various aspects. It sounds pretty painstaking to be perfectly honest, and it's a bit of miracle that it foes off most years without a hitch considering the amount of moving parts. It's a good listen, most of the talking about the booking process starts about half way in, with the early part of the episode being about business at the time and the decision to run the Alomodome and the relationship with AAA.

That sounds like a good listen...Ill give it a try, thanks!

  5.

Just watching last night's Royal Rumble, and it got me thinking...

How exactly do they book the thing? Is it mapped out step by step, or are the entrants given certain spots and told to just work on the fly until it is time to go into them?

Not 100% sure on the definitive answer on this, although Matt Morgan recently said in an interview that in the rumble he was in, (2004?) he was given a brief thing like: " you come in at number 7 and eliminate Hurricane" [for example] and it was left to them to plan out what they would like to do/how to do it. I imagine a lot of guys who are the main entrants are given more instruction than that though.

That makes the most sense out of the two options i suppose...

If it IS the case, then 90% of today's roster needs to learn to work on the fly, as the amount of them just laying around until their next "spot" took the piss!

  7. I

To the surprise of absolutely no one, England have been well and truly rogered in their series in India. Been holding this is a while, but I have nothing to do at work for twenty mins, so feel I may as well rant to myself in here.

Nearly everything about the selection has been wank. It's like they decided to bring back Ray Illingworth to decide call ups.

As a Somerset supporter, I am furious about how some of our lads have been treated. Jack Leach was the best English bowler of the season, taking 60+ wickets at an average of about 23. But we can't call him  up, because he did this on some spinning pitches. WE ARE TOURING INDIA, WHERE THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT SPINNING PITCHES. In addition, he took five-for at those notorious dust-bowls of Headingly and Birmingham. So instead of having a top class left arm spinner, we have a procession of county plodders, and all rounders who can't bowl for shit 'but they bat a bit', because God knows we must have 11 players with first class centuries for some reason. Leach would have been picked if he played for Yorkshire, Lancs, Surrey, Middlesex, Hampshire or Warwickshire. He didn't because he plays for Somerset. It's disgusting and I feel for the lad, he could have done nothing more.

    Now on to the choices.

Gareth Batty, in addition to being the biggest tosser on the County scene, gets a call up 'because he brings control to the attack'. Apparently 'control' now means 'no wickets', because he continued his sterling Championship form of taking nothing for England. Woeful choice.

Zanfer Ansari, took no wickets and is an average bat at best. You'll be shocked to learn he's from Surrey too. The usual Surreytastic punditry team on Sky like Butcher, Ramprakash and Alec were positively frothing at the mouth in orgasmic fervour about this idiotic selection. Can't bat and his bowling had the incisive zip of a flaccid nob after a particularly heavy session on whizz.

Liam Dawson, unreal. So they have called up another batsman who bowls a bit. By a bit, I mean not at all. Now, keep in mind we have been thrashed predominantly because our spinners offer no control. So instead of calling up Leach (a spinner) we call up this clown. Says it all that we had Joe Root carrying out his compliment of overs as cook sat around like a confused puppy, randomly putting on seamers because that's all he an do with his dull and turgid tactical ability.

Don't even get me started on why James Hildreth (statistically the best batsman of his generation not to get a call up and a very good player of spin) is still at home. Needless to say, again, is he played for Yorkshire and the like he would have been on the plane and starting at 4.

ECB, Cook and Bayliss. You are berks of the highest calibre and I would gladly send Marcus Trescothick around your house to aggressively shove pine-cones up all of your arses.

I have bought County membership for the first time and the only positive is that we'll have our full team all season again. Because it's quite evident none of our lads but Craig Overton will get near the test or ODI sides.

    Agree with all  this!

Being a Yorkshireman, and a massive fan of Rashid I can't help but feel he has been hung out to dry a little with the other spinners selected. If Leitch was selected to share the front line spin duties they would take the pressure off each other and allow them to bowl with more freedom. As it stands, Rashid looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is showing in his bowling...

I loved Crystal Lake memories, but i was always more of a Friday fan than Elm Street. The format of both lends to watching them in bite-sized chunks but I just found myself watching them all in one go. I love how everyone is so casual about the films, apart from Kane Hodder. He's the closest we get to a grizzled old wrestler that can't let things go.

I had no idea there were docs for Hellraiser, I'll find them now.

Theres a big doc for the Fright Night Duology out in(supposedly) the next few days from the same team that did the Hellraiser one...

I wasn't a fan of the Hellraiser doc personally. Way too long to cover 2 films, the production values were no where near Never Sleep Again or Crystal Lake Memories, and the first few hours of the doc is just a Clive Barker love in which, while I love his work, was way too much...

Never knew there was a Fright Night doc is the making I'm all over that! I just watched Fright Night again on Halloween it's such a great film. I'll also echo the love for Never Sleep Again I must have watched that 5 or 6 times in total and also agree with the Hellraiser doc being a disappointment in comparison.

I've been on a bit of a 'making of'' kick the past week or so there's quite a few great ones on Youtube, the last 2 I watched were the Aliens & The Thing docs which were great. Re-watched the Event Horizon making of ( really poor quality unfortunately ) Predator & Inside story : Halloween

    Any other recommendations?

"More Brains" Making Of The Return Of The Living Dead is a good one, as is "Still Screaming" The Scream Retrospective and Texas Chainsaw Massacre's "The Shocking Truth" gets a watch from me every now and again...

  10. My liver started playing up when I started some rheumatology meds(they can also be used for chronic skin conditions) when I was diagnosed with chronic Psoriatic Arthritis. My LFT(Liver Function Test) results were sky high, and the consultant said it was like I had necked boxes full of paracetamol(Like you, I hadn't).

Took about 6 weeks after ditching the meds for my liver to go back to normal...

So hang in there, it might just be a case of getting the stuff out of your system!

  11. Have they stopped having actual video on their new look titantron on Raw. It seems to have been elongated with the set redesign and all I have seen since is graphics and test during an entrance. It seems a bit too long and thin to be able to show the live crowd backstage video's live...

  12. Does anyone have any recommend any real crime documentaries, like the Jinx or West of Memphis? It's for my Mrs and she has seen most of the ones shown on the CI channel etc as well as the Making a Murderer and the West of Memphis trilogy...

  13. Not posted in ages, but im getting back into wrestling now my son if going through his wrestling mega-fandom...

But does anyone know anywhere i could acquire an ebook copy of Dynamite Kids book?

  14. Have you checked other sites for whether the Unblock US is working properly on the Mac? If you go to something like the NBC website, can you watch the full episodes of shows on there?

For me, I remember Chrome being a right ballache half the time with the WWE network. A restart or two usually sorted it out, but it was miserable if I ever went back to UK settings then tried to put US on again without turning the computer off.

No idea what the issue is. I can watch videos on other sites like NBC, on both Chrome and Safari. And its working on my Macbook with Chrome too...

    Its winding me up now....

Looks like i will just have to play it on my macbook and set my Chromecast up on the big TV, and cast it....

If anyone does know a fix for my issue, then please let me know, but thank you Pitcos for the info!

  15. Just re-sunscribed to the Network to watch Survivors Series tomorrow, but i am having an issue on my mac.

Its playing the Age rating, and also the age warning that is played before things like legends house, then nothing. It wont play the actual programme.

I have tried it on 2 different browsers(Chrome and Safari), but things are the same.

Also, it works fine on my macbook.

    I am using Unblock-us.

It always worked fine when i had it before...

    Any help would be appreciated...

  16. I think the only move/spot that has ever bugged me, is one that you dont see much anymore. Where one man is on the outside of the ropes(on the apron), and the other is on the inside. The guy on the outside shoulder barges the other one in the gut, then sunset flips over for a pin. The bit that riles me, is that most of the time the bloke on the inside would bend and hold the middle rope, waiting for the flip. At least sell the fact you have been winded and hold your gut or something!
