  1. Inside the Ropes have announced that on Wednesday 5th October in London, ITR Live will present The Rise Of The Attitude Era with JIM ROSS and JIM CORNETTE!

These men will talk about the rise of the characters and stories that they worked with and helped create.

The venue is 99 per cent confirmed, and should be able to announce that tomorrow. Ticket on sale info coming in the next couple of days.

VIP and General info will be available this weekend!

    Still no venue info?

  2. This is a REALLY random one but has bugged me for ages. When I was a young 'un, I bought a wrestling magazine and there was a 4 or 6 page bit just about the Pillman/Liger feud, how their style was crazy and dives to the outside was ruining wrestling. I thought it was PWI but it appears not after checking the covers of what they did at that time. Can anyone think what wrestling magazines would have been available in the UK about 91?

  3. A really good card last night I thought. I am not really a fan of Devon Alexander but really enjoyed the Karass match up. But what a fight Guerrero was given last night by Kamegai. Loved it and that final round I think could have gone half an hour and Kamegi would not go down. The shots both men took were great and you have to say, is a genuine ontender of MOTY.

  4. For those of us who loved to HUSTLE! back in the day, you may have wondered what happened to wrestler/comedian Hard Gay after his serious foot injury at the Korakuen in 2009 (dive that went wrong and needed 12 screws put in)... well he is turning to male modelling! And I gotta say, I think he is pulling it off... for those who don't remember, this is him then...

    And this is him now...

  5. I had Beltran by two or three points. Felt really sorry for him, no way could I see that for Burns, or a draw. I thought Beltran outworked him, then there was the knockdown and all the holding from Burns which really warranted a point off. You could see how crushed Beltran was backstage in the interview.

Burns was tough as always, there's no quit in him. Still, for all the talk of his jaw injury, it should be remembered that it was Beltran who did the damage. It wasn't like Burns came into the fight with his jaw jacked or Beltran got lucky. Burns had a fucked up jaw because Beltran hit him hard in the jaw a bunch. You can't make excuses for that. If Burns fought different to protect the jaw, then Beltran deserves the credit for forcing that in my opinion.

See, whilst I think Burns lost the fight it is the above scoring that makes it less of a steal. 2 points ahead is a 1 round swing and it then becomes the draw which one of the judges called. Performer on the night was Smith though, he does look very good indeed.

  6. This things are always a testament to pat's poor taste. Any money he had Knots Landing as well.

Sorry to disappoint, but I didnt include Highway or Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman either

I'm gutted to have remembered a few things whilst it's been counting down, that would have probably made my list, but no one would have voted for anyway.

Anzacs- Fantastic mini series about the Anzacs in World War One, starring Paul Hogan amongst others. Here's a taster from Episode 3 Well worth seeking out. Most, if not all is on youtube.

The Heroes- Another Aussie Mini series about Operation Jaywick to destroy Japanese boats in Singapore Harbour. It's in bits and pieces but is all on youtube. Here's Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuFjTxbS_Jc

The Heroes II- Following on from the success of Jaywick, Operation Rimau was attempted. This mini series differs slightly from the first because of what happen's to the crew and why. It's also on youtube from the same account as above.

Due South- Diefenbaker! Ray! Leslie Nielsen! Great writing, loved it to bits. Here's a horse chasing a car!

Wrong on one of those. Made my top 10 :)

  7. Walking Dead ran really high on my list and the quote used was mine. It is the only show at the moment which keeps me coming back to see what happens to each character and I think the pace balance of the seasons are spot on. The closing episodes of the second series where SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

Sophia comes out of the barn and you find out everyone is a zombie and you are all scewed

just goes against the generic feeling of hope and 'we can get through this if we can pull together. It says, balls out, you are fucked, plain and simple. Now deal with it! I like that.

  8. Guys need some advice.

In a nutshell i have had all the Guitar Hero and Rockband games and all the spinoffs but only blasted through them on the guitar and thats a couple of years ago now, however i've taken a notion to getting the drums and giving it a whirl through with them. The thing is there is a lot of talk and chat between equipment in terms of what is best and it's all a bit confusing in terms of buying a Guitar Hero drumset or a Rockband version.

The consenus seems to be Rockband ones are more sturdy and less prone to breaking if you give them a good tanking however the Guitar Hero ones are better and somewhat easier to use? Is this a fair assesment?

Both have a similar issue in that they tend to move across the room. Also the main problem is normally the foot pedals. RB ones are better but we managed to go through 3 since buying the game. If you see a spare one, always worth picking up.

  9. Its aged a bit now but this still raises a smile. Spoke to the guy who made it at the time, really nice fella. Did a short horror piece as well called 'Lucid' which I also linked up below...

  10. I'm finally reading Preacher. I've had the 1st 7 volumes for around 7 years gathering dust. Polished volume 1 the other night. This may be a shade controversial I've got say I'm a little underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong I liked it but its not especially interesting, only mildly amusing and a tad juvenile. It strikes me that it maybe a bit of its time and not aged as well as I expected. Still i willl definitely crack on with it as it got quite good towards the end.

Any of you guys read much Superman? I'm thinking of getting some in before Man of Steel. Does Supes have stand out must read books like Dark Knight Returns, Year One, Long Halloween etc?

IMHO, Preacher gets progressively better all the way through. I May have done it the wrong way round as seen the Walking Dead series before reading the graphic novels. Will that be detrimental to the storyline as I am not sure hw closely related the parallels between the shows and novels are.

  11. Am i the only one who thinks froch kessler will not be a classic? I'm sure it will be a great spectacle but cannot see it touching the first one for actipn. I see a very cautious start from kessler and think he will try and hit and move for as long as he can without engaging froch. I expect froch to take over late and win on pts. But it the fight falling below expectations.

Agreed. This is the first 'big fight' I have not bought in about 5 years. I adore Froch but not convinced this will be one for the ages and, TBH, I am a bit underwhelmed by the entire card as a 'return to PPV' whole.

  12. I highly recommend the Boxnation show from last night. Bradley vs Provodnikov was full of suprises, Andy Ruiz (aka Butterbean Jr.) looks an interesting fighter to watch and Saenz Vs. Valenzuela had one of the most vicious knockouts I have seen in a while.

  13. Broners ring entrance... bloody hell. What a twat!

I don;t need to say anything on the fight but I might go in to training for a chance to be in the same ring as that smarmy american prick of an interviewer after the fight. His complete lack of any dignity or respect was disgraceful (but the same could be said of each and every american in that ring tonight)

  14. I had been holding back on Fallout 3 as I wasn;t sure if it was my kinda thing.... I am now over 40 hours in and still not started the Galaxy Radio quests. It has damn near taken over my life. And to try and ween me away I bought Far Cry 3 as well as as my barely 25% completed Just Cause 2.

I need some serious time off work to hit these bad boys.

  15. Been meaning to post this for a few days, Kelly Pavlik has quietly called it a day on his career.

I quite liked The Ghost with two fights coming to mind immediately, those being the Edison Miranda & the first Jermain Taylor fight. Sadly I also think of the Bernard Hopkins fight where he clearly wasn't himself and got absolutely battered!
