AEW TV 2026 discussion

I want to second the love for Bandido. He definitely should be getting at least an International title run by the end of next year.

The other thing the Trios segment made me think. As with the intrigue of seeing New Level in a AEW style death match. When they get to Willow vs Mercedes again, I would love to see them go All Out with it and make it Texas Death. It's been talked about Womens matches which could Main Event a PPV, and that's one which I think really would be worth doing.

I guess Mercedes has never bladed?

After a successful Blood and Guts (792K viewers compared with 552K for NXT) AEW Collision changes it up this week, airing live from Chris Jericho's Rock N Wrestling Rager:

Nick Wayne winmaxxing on the, “Nick Wayne Mogs Chris Jericho at Sea,” cruise, even setting off the boat’s horn rather than his usual pyro.

I can’t say enough good things about this gimmick. Complete home run. Crazy how quickly he’s gone from doing fuck all in ROH to becoming one of my favourite acts in the business.

No wonder they trounced NXT in the Wednesday Night Wars. Did you not hear the news? Nick Wayne BEAT John Cena, CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. Spam some W’s in the chat.

Exactly what I was about to say, whoever suggested the streamer gimmick is an absolute genius, and Wayne plays it brilliantly. The line about ‘winmaxxing’ made me laugh out loud. I’d honestly consider having him win the Continental Classic.

That was probably the best episode of Collision of 2026, and highlights just how mad they were to have waited so long to do another episode at sea. It was so much fun.

Getting the National Title off Andrade was a good move, although the right move would have been giving the belt a sea burial. It was nice to see Ciampa celebrate with his daughter though.

FTR/MCMG predictably went to a deciding match. I really want to see a best of series at some point that doesn’t make it to a decider. Has that ever happened in any major company?

Mercedes confronting Moxley was good, it’s a bot of a shame The Cut were involved, but what can you do? Mercedes being great in ring is no surprise, but her consistency in out-of-ring segments has to be the surprise of 2026 for me given how terrible she was. A shoe-in for female wrestler of the year, surely? This is her best ever year in any company, she’s been outstanding. I hope she retires in AEW, I don’t ever want to see her leave.

I don’t have any negatives to the point I was even entertained by a Blake Christian match. A great show.
