Umar wanted the fight in January so it would be before Ramadan, Merab said that was too soon but he’d been calling for the O’Malley rematch to be in Nov/Dec not long before. So he’d be up for the quick turnaround if it’s O’Malley but for Umar it’s too soon. Now he’s trying to fight Yan again. It’s not a good look. It’s never a good look for a champion to be calling out guys he’s already beat in dominant fashion. Oh, I agree 100%. He's probably feeling emboldened to do it because of White letting Jon Jones get away with it. All a shitshow, and shouldn't be allowed. Quote
