RedLightning
nah, if WWE even gave a shit, they would first of all send them a cease and decist letter to say "stop doing it or we will sue" at which point they would stop doing it and that's that. Â Aside from a tribute show...i have never seen a wrestler in an ACTUAL Rey Misterio mask in a match. Â If you were a flyer, and you were good at it, you would be a complete fud to not capitalise on the success of mainstream masked workers like Rey Misterio, on family shows kids stick to the masked guys because they instantly remind them of Rey Misterio/Sin Cara. Guys like that will always be in demand and promoters will always utilise that. Everybody wins.

jimmyjojojunior
We at SWA are delighted with how well the triple header of shows went in March. We managed two sell outs in North Ayrshire and a strong debut in Pollokshaws on the Sunday afternoon. Our homegrown talent Lewis Girvan and Dickie Divers did amazing against US Indy sensation Chuck Taylor and worldwide phenomenon Kenny Omega respectively (DVD to be released v soon!)  We therefore knew it would be a tough act to follow for our regular fans..... However, we've been sitting on a cracking project for the best part of 6 months that we've been dying to get started that will not disappoint!  Over the past few years, the graduates coming out of the Source Wrestling School have announced themselves as being some of the very best Heavyweights in Scotland; Joe Coffey, Jackie Polo, Dickie Divers, Mark Coffey, John The Bomb, Nathan Black to name but a few.  However, the most recent crop of talent coming out of the Source Wrestling School have been of equal talent, but of smaller stature. This has put a cracking idea into our heads, especially considering the recent link up with Pro Wrestling Zero 1 Japan, we felt that it may very well be the perfect time to strike and put on an annual Junior Heavyweight Tournament, inspired by that of Best of Super Juniors, and Super J Cup.  So in Motherwell April 19th, and Paisley April 20th we will give rise to the first ever Scottish Junior Heavyweight Championship. Our 8 competitors will wrestle in a knockout style tournament over the two days to be crowned the inaugural Champion. In order to make sure we put on the very best tournament possible, we will only be commissioning two SWA roster members to enter, the rest will be wrestlers from all over the UK and Ireland, with many making their Scottish debuts.  In the coming week we will announce all 8 participants, and show the full brackets. But before that, we'll announce the first match.      When you talk about Junior Heavyweight wrestling, there is one name worldwide who stands above absolutely everyone else. Prince Fergal Devitt. Devitt is one of the biggest success stories to ever come out of the UK and Ireland. Respected by everyone who has ever seen him wrestle, the 13 year veteran Devitt has possibly had the best 7 years imaginable since debuting for New Japan Pro Wrestling.  A six time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and three time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Devitt set the world alight when he finally toppled Naomichi Marufuji in January 2010 to take his first NJPW singles gold. Since then he became the face of the NJPW Junior division.  His opponent in the first round, Zack Sabre Jr is an absolute prodigy. A 9 year veteran (at only 25), Sabre Jr has become arguably England's best export over the last 3 years, especially when he was chosen to tour with the prestigious Pro Wrestling NOAH. Sabre Jr has since tangled with the very best NOAH has to offer, including KENTA, Kanemaru, Aoki, Yone and eons more.  Sabre Jr.'s technical abilities are respected worldwide, his passion and devotion to the British Wrestling art form is so admirable, as well as his hard hitting, lethal martial art striking technique. He has thus developed a beautiful British/Japanese hybrid style, the likes of which is unseen worldwide and makes him a nightmare to match up against.  Undoubtedly these two men are the favorites to lift the Scottish Junior Heavyweight Title, but it certainly threw the cat among the pigeons when they were drawn against one another in the first round! We therefore cannot wait to see this match up in the Braidhurst High School, Motherwell.  Tickets for this event are available right now HERE and for the semi finals/final the following night in Paisley HERE   SWA Zero 1 Scotland: Junior Heavyweight Title Tournament  Night 1: Braidhurst High School, Motherwell Friday April 19th Doors 6.30PM Showtime 7PM   Night 2: Paisley Students Union, Paisley Saturday April 20th Doors 6.30PM Showtime 7PM  For further details please go to scottishwrestling.co.uk  More will be announced in the coming days. The Cum Doctor
Paisley is a decent venue and really close to me. Given the choice of these two shows, it has to be that. I'm sure that even without Sabre/Devitt, it'll have matches well worth going to see.
