Alright there everyone. Long time lurker here looking for some info. Are there any shops in London that sell wrestling merch. Im on about T-shirts,dvds,figures,belts etc of any company.Just wondering if there was any sort of specialist store or something alone those lines. If there isnt do you think there would be any intrest in a small shop like this? Or do you think that most wrestling fans would prefer to buy there merch online?

Just a bit curious because although Im still youngish I would be tempted to risk debt forever and open a store a bit like this. Obviously not overnight or anything but kinda just wondering if there is money to be made in this sorta thing or would it be better to start with car boots and markets and the like?

Cheers in advance lads.

There used to be a wrestling shop in Manchester called ECUK but it's been shut down for years now, which is a total shame as it was an amazing place. I used to make sure I'd get something there every time I went to town as a kid. Then about a year before I went to uni and could have spent ages there in my free time between lectures when I had nothing else to do, such as assignments or anything, or after I'd finished uni for the day it just randomly closed down. To say I was gutted would be an understatement. It sold all sorts of gear, WWE, WCW, ECW, ROH, FWA, CZW, TNA (I think it did TNA just before it shut down as I do have an original TNA DVD, the Jeff Hardy one, before they had the white TNA home video logo thing on the spine), some Japanese promotions, championship belts, ring gear for anyone who was involved in wrestling, tshirts, programs, old magazines, figures and some really rare ones too, DVDs, VHS, anything you could think of really. There were a lot of wrestlers who went there to do signings too, I met AJ Styles and Mick Foley there.

I still think about that place and wish it was still here, now I think it's some kind of barbers which I think specialises in hip hop hairstyles and afros and so on or at least it was when ECUK closed down. It was next door ECUK but since ECUK went I think they just overtook all of the space there.

Does anyone know exactly what happened with ECUK or the guy who ran it, why it closed and if there was ever any plans to reopen it or if there is anywhere like it (ie just a wrestling only specialist shop) in Manchester or anywhere really?

The guy who ran/owned or part ran/owned ECUK actually posts on here. Good guy and will probably be able to tell you what happened. Hopefully somebody will point the thread out to him.

In regards to Wrestling only specialist shops anywhere. www.amerchandise.co.uk/store have just moved in to Portsmouth city centre and the new store is three times the size of the old one. I am sure pictures will be available when the refit is complete but it has everything TNA sell, large selection of British, WWE and is the only place for Noah and Dragon Gate merchandise in Europe!

This song seemed to come into my head as I was reading your post.

The store is mainly a comic book shop, but it has its own little section at the back with WWE an TNA merch.

Glad to help dude.

Is there any T Shirts or older DVDs, anything like that in there now? Last time I went there, they just had a couple of the Jakks Pacific Classic Figures.

Yeah a shop kinda like Amerchandise is really what I was thinking about if I was to ever set up shop. Anywhere else in London have a large selection of dvds and stuff? Obviously not stores like HMV Im talking about specialist kinda stores or shops that really do have a good varied selection.

Last I heard he had moved either into or near Afflecks. That was years ago mind. It was a quality little shop. I must've spent hundreds in there.
