mickfan
Great to see Micky Long on TV as one of Cody Rhodes' assistants. He didnt look out of place and theres talk of being signed to head to Florida in January. Used to train me and really is the dogs bollocks in the ring and is a sound lad to boot. Looking forward to seeing him in the future.
ThePhenom
I thought that was a passable show, the retirement segment was alright, as was the wrestling. I don't get why they did a Rey Mysterio/Cody Rhodes match so soon before their PPV match though, but it was a decent match anyway.
The Dart
It was a standard match though. At the PPV it's Falls Anywhere.
Cobra1000
It was a standard match though. At the PPV it's Falls Anywhere. Â Yeah they often do that don't they? If its a gimmick match at a PPV, they often have just a regular match the in the weeks leading up to it with some shenanigans! Â Cody Rhodes bought his paper bags at Sainsburys... Dirty Eddie
The Cody gimmick is fucking stupid and so was his long, dull promo. Â He gets a load of paper bags for people to wear to "cover their lying eyes, just like Rey Mysterio" even though the bags have eye holes in them, and... erm... Rey Mysterio's mask doesn't cover his eyes either? Â Any "clever psychological effect" Cody is going for fails right from the start as the fans seem to enjoy wearing the bags and getting the TV time, so any 'message' Cody is preaching is being ignored. Â And we still have Michael Cole calling him "Disfigured" even though a few weeks back they had settled on the fact he was 'mentally scarred'. Nope, forget that, we are back to pretending his un-marked face is 'ruined'. Â Plus, to top it all off, we get Josh (or Tod, or whoever the 2nd announcer is) who keeps using the phrase "took his livelihood away" when talking about what Rey did to Cody. The issue being that they use this term while Cody is wrestling, therefore disproving their own statement while they say it. His livelihood isn't gone, he's still wrestling, you complete tools. Â Of course, none of this is helped by Cody's awful, hammy acting. It's hilarious when he remembers every so often "Oh, yeah, I'm supposed to be covering the face" and he shields his face with his hand for 3 seconds. Good job living your character mate. Â He's not a bad wrestler or promo, and this gimmick is better than those endless "Grooming Tips" videos, but someone needs to sit down and look at how they are presenting this story. Because at the moment it is all over the place and makes no fucking sense.
