    Love the way the Brain always found a way to have his little pops at Ham n Egger Hogan. Even years after Hogan vs the Heenan family was a thing;

Yeah people always say Heenan’s “Who Side is he on?” Comment ruined the Hollywood reveal but I always thought it was consistent for someone who hated him.

  2. Stark stuff, as LWO Len shows us, there are always people who think that Martha is hateful for not letting Owen into the HOF, but  what will the HOF provide, exactly?   A WWE Network Playlist, an insincere acceptance speech, a gaudy ring, and the chance for a few thousand marks to play as Owen Hart in a 2K game.   Meanwhile Vince gets an ego boost and gets to tell himself that he’s alright really.

As for a comparison, look at Bret, his major appearances in 2019 involved him getting thrown around by some idiot at the HOF, and getting a bit lost and falling down a hole in at AEW all under the auspices of “I used to be the Hitman, me.”

Meanwhile, Martha has Parlayed Owen’s name into something to be proud of.   A charity that helps people.   Their kids don’t have to sell his Hasbro’s on ebay, or go into the business, only for a heel on Raw wearing a fucking Blue Blazer mask in a promo to hype up an undercard on the pre-show on Stomping ground.

Your legacy is not defined by having your name on a website.   It’s the memories that people have, and yes, his family (both sides), his fans and his friends in the business have wonderful memories that don’t need to be on a  three hour special between William Shatner getting the nod, and a five hour speech from Terry Taylor.

What makes all that and the current Covid situation all the more fascinating - it was interesting seeing him mention AJ and wanted to work him. After wanting a match more like his HBK matches with Cena, then having the Saudi stinkers, it feels likely that he requested working AJ to have that match. Even compares him to Shawn. To possibly have that be his last match, going out on a match he'd feel happy gong out on. Which may be how this documentary would have wrapped up. Yet, Covid-19 happens, robs him of that match and we get the Boner match instead. And in the process potentially stumbled on a way to keep him going  and having him pop up at WrestleMania for some time yet.

Given AJ’s flashbacks my guess is that assuming Covid is under control AJ will point to this series and challenge Taker to a proper wrasslin match.

    Vince looked rough

Yeah maybe it was a long day of filming but he looked knackered.       In fact the kayfabe part of my brain thinks AJ and Bryan were acting deferrential to Vince out of how poor he looked rather than being scared.

  5. Part one has dropped.   Lovely stuff.     Can’t help feeling as if coming back after the Roman match was an error though.

On the other hand the rest promises to be interesting

And it’s great to hear the “sad piano” version of his theme.

  6. Did anyone hear Gorilla Monsoon commentary in 97/98 on those WWE D shows that used to be on Sky?     I think it was shotgun.     His heart didn’t seem into it, and from what I understand now he was probably happy just being around WWF staff.

I reckon thats what Jim Ross is now, not as passionate about the overall product, but happy to keep is hand in.    Unfortunately it shows in his work

The difference is that one show was an after thought, the other is the flag ship show

  7. Went to the Fight Forever show in Birmingham.

Godfather was doing the pre show meet and greet as Papa Shango, and then did a skit in the ring (and hosted the post show party) as Godfather.

So I went to the bog during the second or third match, and he was in there.   Some absolute berk gets all excited and starts quoting his old prematch preamble to him IN THE FUCKING GENTS.    .

  8. Why are people on here so afraid of new posters?

We're not all one person and we might actually have our own opinions.

This place is like some exclusive club. Might as well have a message before you sign up saying 'NO NEW MEMBERS WELCOME'.

Nobody has criticised anyone for being new from what I've seen

If you're a knobhead on the other hand, you're fair game.

  9. JR will redeem himself in my eyes if he can leave his gimmick cowboy hat at home on the day of the funeral.

I'm sure in this time of great mourning, personal loss, and terrible tragedy, Jim Ross takes great solace in the fact that he will be redeemed in the eyes of a complete stranger who posts on a British wrestling forum, if he leaves his hat at home.

For all we know she might have had a final request that when she dies she wants the mourners to wear clothes that make them happy (though old JR Would probably deck himself out in OK Sooners colours).

      `

Frankly why should anyone give a shit what the man wears at his wife's funeral?   She wasn't a talent, she wasn't a public figure, Let the man grieve, thank those people who have reached out to him on social media and don't obsess over such a private affair.

  10. To say he's trying to generate (presumably positive) reviews for the show, I don't think Conrad did himself any favours at the end of last week's show when he went on his mini rant about people moaning about/not voting for Chyna on the poll.   He basically said that you missed on a great opportunity to get all the dirt on HHH and Stephanie.

Sorry, do I want this?   I appreciate that you can't talk about WWE without the someone from the McMahon family being discussed, but jesus, Chyna would be depressing, even more so than the Sunny episode.   Besides, if he wanted to pick his own topics, then he should just drop the poll and choose his own topics, something he's got around by doing the XFL companion piece and offering both of the bonus episodes.   .

  11. Flair's podcast is returning again in February. Guy loves a comeback.

Just listened to the plug on MLW, it sounds like Naich is referring to it as a new show.   I wonder he jacked the first one in because Conrad had heat with HHH for reading Sunny's description of sex with Shawn Michaels from her book on air?  Guess we'll know if theres a new co host.

  12.

    .

I remember Flair unintentionally buried Conrad once (the Orndorff episode, I think) when he told Orndorff that Conrad pays wrestlers to come over to his house & hang out and he should avail of it - he pays like $5k or something, for legends to watch matches with him & hang out, and that's how they met. You could tell Conrad was freaked he said it, but it was true and he also couldn't tell Ric to shut up.

I wonder if they watched Supertape...
