  1. I used to rent those original spiderman movies when i was kid, and they were awesome. The only bad thing was the mask was attached to the top, so he would be half starkers when he changed into spiderman!

Are you sure? In The Dragon's Challenge his mask is just a normal head mask like you would expect. I think you got the wrong version ;)

I mostly base all my spiderman knowledge on the 1990's cartoon though, which was great!

Indeed. I grew up with that as a child.

  2. It was called The Dragon's Challenge

It was to help an old friend of J Jonah Jameson who was framed as a spy I remember this one as Spiderman had his mask taken off and the Chinese man's daughter was the only one who knew who he really was this had to do with an either plot where her father was attacked and Peter ran away (he went to turn into Spiderman) and she thought he was a coward.

Yes! Prompting the great line, "That yo-yo just jumped out the window!"

  3. i dont mind really. If spiderman was steeped in realism surely he woul be firing organic webbing from his anus which personally i aint down with.

i always remember Nicholas Hammond as spiderman and his webshooter and how great they were as a kid.

Ah, yes! It was so bad it was good. The funky 70s music, the mute Spider-Man karate chopping no-name bad guys, and web shooters that shot rope and nothing resembling webbing at all.

I had one on VHS that was a hash of two episodes to make a serial. "Enter The Dragon" or something it was called, that saw Spider-Man travel to China. I can't remember what the reason was though.

  4. I love how the YouTube videos have been unlisted after a swathe of negative comments from who I can only presume are fellow UKFF posters. And it seems they've closed his Facebook fan page.

Does he really care about his image that much? He brought this on himself...

  5. Both son and mum came down to my school for the Brutus Magnus seminar. The seminar was 8 hours long and she was outside in reception talking to everyone about her fantastic son for 8 hours straight. She honestly believed that Nick was going to fly her son out to TNA right there and then.

The best part though, and surely something we can all look forward too, they're opening their own promotion. :)

Well I hope it's above board. Would hate for some to call the police to tell them that an event of theirs was uninsured, or had the wrong licence, or didn't have a sufficient enough risk assessment...

  6. Best post ever. Really surreal that this Surf Graffiti guy's mum would go as far as to call the police!

I'd love to know the grounds she reported the post. It's a bit different to being told someone's going to come to your workplace and kick your head in. Now that's harassment...

  7. Barry (and I know you'll still be reading this thread to catch the responses), but can you explain why you contacted the website of a professional wrestling promotion with this query, but under the name of Gareth Turner rather than Barry Collins?

This has been a fantastic story, but obviously isn't what it seems and there's some hidden, possibly dirty, truth to the matter. For instance, your girlfriend and a group of friends managed to find a wrestling show but didn't know what town or area they were in? Further holes in the story have been extracted by other members of the forum, but reading over this thread in this entirety, it's been a pretty pathetic show by yourself.

  8. Premier Promotions are a traditional wrestling promotion. They don't have dedicated fans like say, IPW:UK, that wish to purchase DVDs to keep up with story lines like said dedicated fans.

Plus, it may be a loss to Premier Promotions to produce DVDs of each show as the costs of professional DVD production is quite high and they would have to shift a fair few units to recuperate those costs. Sure, they could go with a couple of cheap camcorders and throw a show together in Windows Movie Maker, but bad DVDs are more detrimental to a company's image than no DVD. Just like a bad website is more damaging to a company's reputation than no website (which is becoming increasingly important considering the amount of time spent and business done on-line).

Thats fair enough mate, I didn't know Premier was 'that' kind of company as i've never seen or attended anything by them. Completely understandable in that case, I just thought given all the praise it was in the same vein as say, IPW:UK. So its more of an All Star type deal?

    Precisely :)

  9. lightningxlock I think you are missing the point of Premier, as Khemical said they don't need to put out dvds. I just wonder why when you go to their shows some are available to purchase. Premier has a built in crowd especially in Worthing. Its close to Brighton, on the main train to London, there are a lot of kids who go to these shows and the prices are fantastic for a family night out. The way the wrestlers are and the way Freemantle and his staff treat the punters, along with Worthing Theatres lovely staff, its a real nice night out. Its not really a modern promotion but its fans love it. Assembly Halls even during the long summer season has at least 100 punters *paid* for each show which is good. You get 4/5 really good matches and common sense wrestling for the small price of
  10. Genuinely blows my mind that some of these UK companies dont film their shows! Especially ones that have a good rep. I mean it's all well and good impressing fans that are local to your shows but what about everyone else. Not really aiming for the stars is it?! It's one thing none of these companies getting on TV, but to not have your dvd's readily available what do they hope to achieve

Oh, I don't know. Longevity? They're only been going a couple of decades now, it's only a matter of time before they go under for not embracing the miniscule British Wrestling DVD market.

Premier Promotions obviously focus on live crowds...
