  1. I really enjoyed the main event, it felt like a different level. Sami/Gunther was also great stuff. Enjoyed the show overall but the other matches were pretty disappointing.

Forget your dislike for live bands or The Final Boss flares, there was absolutely nothing worse than Johnny Cosplay and his mate coming out looking like DX shrank in the wash. Shit glow stick era DX at that; state of it.

  2. I’ve been to all of the Royal Quest shows. The first Royal Quest felt so much more like a genuinely authentic NJPW show than the others. Saturday even just looked like a RevPro show.

Clearly a lot of RevPro fans go to this as well but having half of each show filled with local guys really diminishes it for me. Especially when a six man team with Tanahashi and the NJPW Strong champion come out to the RevPro guy’s music. I know Tana is pretty much done, but at least give us the entrance!

Still, the show was good on the whole and the top 2 matches really delivered.

  3. I really hope KO/Sami vs Usos is the night 1 main.  You know those 4 will deliver, only second tag main event in Mania history and it has the story. All leading into it coming crashing down for Roman night 2.

  4. I’d rather have had a one night show without the Rev Pro filler and FTR, but I knew going in that this would be some way off what we got last time so I can’t be disappointed about it. I’m sure it’ll be a fun 2 nights.

It’s a good point, there isn’t a stage set up on the seating plan.  Do we think they’re using the black line out from L9 as the entrance?  They’ve done similar set ups for the rumble recently

I’d say it’s a pretty safe assumption. The recent stadium shows they’ve done outside of Mania have just used the dugouts/tunnel as the entrance and haven’t had a huge stage.

  6. Yeah it’s a real shame that there’s such a barrier to entry on it. Not just in cost, but I know a lot of people really don’t get on in VR at all due to motion sickness etc.

Hopefully one day Valve will remember they make games.

Very tempted to sign up to this as I see its on Fire Stick

Is it like the Network where all the PPVs and big shows are on there? Also do most of the big shows have English commentary? Thanks

There’s a lot of back catalogue shows on there but it’s not complete. If it’s just more recent stuff you’re looking for you’re fine, it’s pretty substantial. Big shows have English comms at the moment, before the pandemic almost all shows did.

Can’t comment too much on how well it runs on fire stick. I’ve been watching it on my Xbox one/series X for years perfectly, however I’ve had a lot of issues lately (error: manifestparsing apparently) with video playback stopping since they’ve changed providers so I’m looking into other tv options.

I haven't watched much since this year's Wrestle Kingdom - is there much worth checking out from this year before next year's WK?

Hiromu vs El Desperado from last week’s BOSJ final. A few from the G1: Tana vs Naito, ZSJ vs EVIL, ZSJ vs KENTA, Ospreay vs Shingo, Ibushi vs Taichi. Any of the tag title matches between Tana/Ibushi vs ZSJ/Taichi. Surprisingly a lot of the NEVER 6 man title matches have been really good.

Other than that, not so much. As with everything else 2020, it’s been a weird year.

  9. Best pro wrestler - Will Ospreay, Shingo Takagi, Kazuchika Okada

Best women's wrestler -  Becky Lynch, Shayna Baszler, Rhea Ripley

Match of the Year - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kenny Omega (Wrestle Kingdom 13), Shingo Takagi vs Will Ospreay (BOSJ Final), Kazuchika Okada vs Will Ospreay (G1 Climax Night 7)

Best wrestling event - NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13, NJPW BOSJ Final, WWE WrestleMania 35

Best wrestling show - NJPW in general, WWE NXT, AEW Dynamite

Best feud or angle - Jushin Thunder Liger/Minoru Suzuki, KENTA attacks Shibata and joins Bullet Club, Kofi Kingston runs the gauntlet for a WWE title shot

Moment of the Year - Kofi wins the WWE championship, Ronda Rousey drives a car while handcuffed, Kazuchika Okada defeats Jay White for the IWGP Heavyweight championship at MSG

Best babyface Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston, Will Ospreay

Best heel - Chris Jericho, Jay White, Brock Lesnar

Funniest moment of the year - Chris Jericho’s parody video, Chris Jericho with a little bit of the bubbly, Brock Lesnar and his briefcase boombox
