Ishii rarely gets a big spot at the Dome so that’s not too surprising. A Shingo/Suzuki match would have been nice though, definitely keep an eye on them in that LIJ/SG 8 man.

I don’t think Suzuki is done exactly, but he’s definitely transitioning into a different role. KENTA/Goto will be great and has clearly been the direction for months now.

For me the biggest surprise in the WK cards is of all the people pulling double duty neither Tanahashi or Ospreay are.

Had the best time yesterday, probably my favourite show I’ve attended from a live point of view. Tanahashi gave me his hairband so when his knees finally go for good we can clone him.

Hope they come back soon.

Absolutely loved the final, the drama in that. Could’ve done without Gedo coming back out but it was minimal. All the Jay White shithousery for Ibushi to win made it all the sweeter.

The KENTA/Bullet Club/Shibata stuff was so brilliantly done. That shot of KENTA in the Shibata pose on top of the man himself was so good. Makes a lot of sense to put KENTA in that position. There’s a lot of chat already with the physicality that Shibata was in that he could be cleared. I know it’s rumbled forever that he’s coming back so who knows, but KENTA vs Shibata at the dome would be huge.

I’m all in for Okada/Suzuki and ZSJ/Tana headlining Royal Quest as well. Can’t wait.

They tweeted out the email with link was sent a day early in error. No tickets have gone on there yet, it’s midnight tonight BST they’re on sale.

I have tickets already from  buysumotickets but the international presale apparently has Arena A available so I’m gonna have a look.

In my bracket re-work I really thought we’d get Okada vs ZSJ in the final after Ibushi went out, so I’m surprised to see Tana march on. 

It’s gotta be Okada hasn’t it? With a show like MSG you want your top guy in the main event. Although who then walks out with the IWGP heavyweight title is another question; as much as Okada winning would be amazing I really can’t see a third title change in as many matches.

Yeah I went to handball there in 2012 as well, even if it took me a while to realise it’s the same venue, should be a good venue for this and it’s less than 30 minutes from my house which is a bonus.

I managed to get front row for London, well pleased.

Add me to the Switchblade camp. I think he’s been fantastic in the last six months or so especially. I’m all for the decision to give him the ball and see how he runs with it. He’s a genuine heel, a hard worker and it’s fresh. 

Also, Taiji Ishimori busting out the dance moves totally cracked me up, what a man.

Will Ospreay vs Kota Ibushi

As I've alluded to before, I'm so amped for this that I already consider myself the winner. Hopefully neither dies, I see Kota picking up the win.

El Desperado/Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs BUSHI/Shingo Tagaki vs Roppongi 3K

Whilst I'd rather have had straight up 2v2 tag matches, BUSHI and Shingo definitely add to the quality of the match and it was a lot of fun last time out. I'm going for SHO and YOH to win the titles back here.

Tomohiro Ishii vs Zack Sabre Jr

Both have had great years in 2018 and their mix of styles is always fascinating. Nice change to see the RevPro belt on the line on the WK card in place of ROH/NWA etc for a change. Ishii retains.

Guerillas of Destiny vs EVIL/SANADA vs Young Bucks

Even though it's lame that the Bucks just turned up at the end of the tag league and got added to the match, I think it'll definitely be a better match with them in. Can't see them winning though and I think EVIL and SANADA are both in for bigger singles runs in 2019 so GoD retain.

Cody vs Juice Robinson

I, like a most other NJPW fans I know, aren't too interested in this, especially with the abundance of quality throughout this card. Lets go for a big Juice win to get him back on track. 

KUSHIDA vs Taiji Ishimori

This is going to be awesome. Ishimori has been great since coming in, particularly that BOSJ final with Hiromu, and KUSHIDA always delivers. Ishimori takes this.

Jay White vs Kazuchika Okada

I've been really impressed with White's development this year, really enjoyed his match with Tanahashi recently as well. He's on the big stage with Okada, there's a good story behind it and I think this one may surprise people. Which sounds a stupid thing to say about an Okada match. Still, Kazuchika Okada will win.

Chris Jericho vs Tetsuya Naito

Naito wins. He just has to. Should be a belter though, really liked their Dominion match and the build up to this has been great.

Kenny Omega vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

6 months ago I have said this was a nailed on Omega win. But all the speculation over the future of the Elite has put the outcome of this match into a great big question mark. Fuck it, I want Tanahashi to win so I'm going out on a limb and saying Tanahashi wins. And it will be wonderful.

Absolutely cannot wait for this. It'll be my first time in Japan and I'm travelling across New Zealand for a couple of weeks after so needless to say I haven't given a fuck about Xmas, it's all about next week. 

  The tag league had some good stuff in it in the end. As with the Junior tag, the winners going into a 3 way at WK13 which seems to make the whole thing a bit pointless though. So fucking excited for Ibushi vs Ospreay, they got there in the end. Full WK card:

Pretty much what most expected. Slightly surprising to have the jr tag as a three way considering we just had that match and Sho and Yoh’s tag league win was essentially pointless. But I’m for it, will be fun.

Still hoping for Ibushi vs Ospreay if Will is good to go.

Catching up on some of the super jr tag league, good stuff in there. I’ve not seen much of Shingo from Dragon Gate but he seems to have seemlessly dropped into LIJ. Judging by his colour commentary, I’m pretty sure Lanny Poffo has never seen an NJPW show in his life. 

My WK13 ticket arrived today as well and it’ll be my first trip to Japan. Can’t wait.

The KOPW triple threat didn’t do much for me and I’m not surprised at the displeasure from the Japanese fans. Imagine if they’d gone with Scurll for the jr title as well, not a lot of Japanese wrestlers holding the gold right now. Whilst I’m all for making the product more accessible worldwide, I still think the vast majority of fans, European and American included, tune in for an authentic NJPW show and I hope the international expansion plans don’t compromise that. 

I’m gonna be at the Dome in January, very much hoping and looking forward to a Tana win.

Do you really think they’ll go with Omega v Okada though? I would have thought Omega v Naito and Okada v Jericho would be more likely. 

I've got Fallout on Xbone, I've found the frame rate is quite jittery but otherwise really enjoying the game so far. As much as I enjoy it though, it just makes me want a new Elder Scrolls.

I got Black Ops 3 the other day as it was cheap with the shopping and I had Nectar points to use. Haven't played it much but it seems fun.

Also have the Uncharted collection rented from Boomerang which is awesome. I'm on the third game now, they've done a great job on the remaster.

All this with Battlefront to come next week as well, I'm never gonna have the time to play them all.

Anyone else been playing the Star Wars Battlefront beta? I need more of this.

I was at that Maiden show, I think it was the Dance of Death tour at Earls Court back in December '03. If I recall, no, the Maiden fans did not enjoy FFAF.

I wanted to read a new comic add I hadn't read anything in a while. My friend lent me the first Locke and Key book and I really quite enjoyed it.

Anyone who has read it - does it maintain quality? Is it worth getting into?

When you fired it up was there a ton of installation/updates needed before you can play at all?

Anyone managed to have a go on the Black Ops 3 beta? Took me forever to download and all I get is an error message saying sever unavailable when trying to connect.

I'm also on the ninth episode, it's great. I love the Marvel movies but it's really refreshing to have to change up in tone, really fits best for Daredevil.

Went to see System of a down at The Forum this evening. Absolutely phenomenal. Not quite as spiritually overpowering as seeing Rush for the first time, but it was close. I see they're playing Wembley Arena in a few days, anyone going?

Yeah I was at Wembley last night, it was absolutely off the charts. The energy all round the building was immense, it was a great show. They played minimal amounts of the shit I don't like from Mesmerize and they played P.L.U.C.K and CUBErt which made me extremely happy. Would be more than happy to see them stick around a bit more full time.

How do I actually go about setting up heists myself? I've got my nice swanky apartment, but every time I go in the room where there whiteboard etc is it just says Heists unlock at rank 12, despite the fact I'm rank 16. Is there something I have to do? I've not played GTA online hardly at all before the last couple of days.
