  1. Not before I heard 'Bad Seed'

If we can get 'House That Jack Built' and 'Carpe Diem Baby' in, I'm there..

im not even joking now, if Hetfield brought his acoustic out and played 'Mama Said', id be a happy camper right there

Scrap the requests, just do Load/Reload. People power.

  2. I think Trivium playing the Red Bull tent is pretty cool tbh. They played mainstage in 2012 so for a recent repeat booking having them do this gimmick freshens it up a bit for the regular attendees. Not sure if I'll be there or not next year but having The Offspring as an alternative to Avenged Sevenfold has definitely piqued my interest. Rumours that they'll play 'Smash' all the way through as part of it's 20th anniversary (man that makes me feel old).

I've got it on good authority that Soni have got Metallica & Maiden. Not sure on the 3rd headliner yet though.

Sonisphere like Metallica don't they? Good thing I like Metallica too. Offspring doing Smash I'd definitely like to see, I'd definitely watch them if I was there. Still only planning on a Sunday ticket so far.

  3. I saw them in 05. I seem to remember they were on early, were pretty good and played Rain, which is like the only tune of theirs I like. I don't really see the point of it either but I guess it's cool for their fans if they get there in good time. I guess with pretty much the same rotation of bands being booked they're trying to throw in this kind of gimmick and bands playing full albums.

  4. I believe the Joker one is just the tie ins, so no its not essential and probably best to read the Snyder/Capullo main part first if you're reading it separately as it'll give away the ending otherwise. The tie ins aren't essential reading anyway, the Batgirl bits were great though and there was on issue of Batman & Robin that was really great.

  5. No chance Metallica could do the TTN production at a festival. Not a fan of the download announcements, always like to see Zombie but much rather his own show. I can't believe for one minute that Aerosmith would not headline if they did play. Hopefully something like Pearl Jam and Alter Bridge for Sunday and a day ticket will do me. Andy Copping would get shit on twitter regardless of who he announced anyway.

  6. I haven't had any frame rate issues on Arkham Origins, the only technical glitch I've had a few times I've had a few times is the audio disappearing when I get into the bat plane for fast travel.

I finished the main story and really enjoyed it. Sure it's not as good as Asylum or City but if you're going to judge every game by those two it's a little harsh. Really liked the riffing on the start of the relationships between Batman and Joker and Batman and Gordon. It misses the meticulous attention to detail of the Rocksteady games, but I'd definitely recommend it to any Batman fan.

  7. I'll be waiting for reviews, I loved the two previous Batman games but I don't exactly trust the dev team who are working on this installment.

Same here. Loved the first two but cautious to see if they can recapture the magic.

I already preordered, looking forward to it. They're building on a solid platform and I like the story concept. At the worst it seems it'll be more of the same. They put a gameplay video up (here) showing the bat cave which looks pretty cool.

From what I've seen of the gameplay its looks to play exactly like the previous two. I'd never played Arkham Asylum so picked it up last chritsmas when the Game Of The Year edition for Arkham City came out and played through both in a few weeks.

I'm expecting more of the same from this one with some new features bolted on. The developers did do the Wii-U version of Arkham City, so they have used the engine already so will have a firm grasp of it.

I'm just gutted that Kevin Conroy (replaced by ROger Craig Smith) and Mark Hamill (replaced by Troy Baker, who had played Two face & Robin in the previous game) are not involved. Conroy is the perfect voice for Batman and Hamill was always brilliant as The Joker

100% with you on Conroy, he is THE voice of Batman for me. When I read a Batman comic, its his voice I hear. I was also gutted about Mark Hamill, but he was pretty clear after City that it would be his last and Troy Baker well and truly won me over with his reading from The Killing Joke at New York Comic Con.

  8.

will upload more tomorrow if I get the time, seenas this has taken 90 minutes to upload on its own.

    Either way, enjoy

Awesome stuff, seems a great atmosphere at that show too. London saturday was just as good as Birmingham. They're also conveniently playing this week when I'm in Paris so I'll be seeing them again Friday. I'm very grateful for whatever promotors seem to want to put all this on in France this week, its turned the missus' planned romantic trip into a gig trip for me.

I also listened to the new Korn album in the car this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Sure its not their best, but the most worthwhile thing they've put out for quite a while.

  9. Reports from the Alter Bridge shows so far are mixed.

Again, heavy Blackbird influence on the set list. Only played 5 Fortress songs so far. Cut it down from 5 to 4 last night. I guess we'll see what tonight brings at Wembley Arena.

A good point though is that Flip seems to be using a click track now and they are playing songs at their normal speed instead of the hyper speed they used to play at live.

Really enjoyed the show last night. I'd have also preferred more Fortress stuff, but it's clear most want to hear the Blackbird stuff. I guess when you're doing arenas you have appeal to the masses. There was a definite beginning of tour vibe, as Myles mentioned they're still fiddling with the setlist. Seeing them again in Paris next week, hopefully it flows a little better then. I loved Halestorm, but I always do. Even if they needed to turn the guitars up. I'm surprised they're not bigger over here but they seemed to go down pretty well. Shinedown aren't my kind of thing at all but everyone else seemed really into them. They love a middle of the road, radio power ballad don't they?

  10. Also want to give praise to the new Korn album, best stuff they've done in years. I've had it on repeat for about 2 weeks now and I'm not bored yet.

It's amazing actually just how big bands like Korn were at the end of the 90's and yet most people I've been telling about the new album seem to think they split years ago, I got the same reaction when I was telling people about Limp Bizkits latest single.

Is it really? Might have to give it a listen, I thought the single was horrible though.

I saw Volbeat tonight and they were fantastic as usual. First time I've seen them with Rob Caggiano in the band and he fits so well. He's such a smooth lead player and he complements them really well. Looking forward to seeing them again on Saturday and next week.

Got the new Pearl Jam record too and I'm enjoying it. An almost Beatles-esque vibe on them. Completely different from Backspacer, but not in a bad way. I'd imagine Getaway would be a great live song, fingers crossed for a tour announcement for sometime soon.

  11. I just finished the main story. The heists were amazing and switching it up between 3 main characters definitely kept it fresh throughout 30+ hours. Most of the missions were great fun and well designed too. However if I ever have to do any careful helicopter things or trying to escape police in massive trucks in dlc, the games going out the window. Also felt the actual storyline itself, whilst good, never really lived up to its potential. Not that it was bad by any stretch, but I just felt they didn't really build on most of the really interesting parts of the character relationships.

  12. I listened to the first half of it on the way to work this morning, so far so good. Sounds more like 'Vitalogy' era rather than an extension of 'Backspacer', a couple of tracks seem like they'll be growers but even on first spin a couple grabbed me immediately. The new A Day to Remember & Trivium albums have also leaked.

Yeah I felt the same on the new PJ and have probably listened about the same amount, looking forward to giving the whole record a spin.

I went to see Metallica Through the Never last night which was pretty awesome. The story part was cool and worked but its mainly about seeing them play and with that cool stage set with all the props. It's sort of an evolution of the Cunning Stunts DVD. They sounded fucking awesome with that IMAX sound mix though, if you're a Metallica fan I highly recommend going to see it.

  13. Just received a copy of Batman: The Court Of Owls that I bought online. Had a flick through, is there a part when a couple of pages are upside down? Or have I got a copy with a printing error?

No it's not a misprint, it's supposed to be that way. That issue kinda turns round as you're reading it, you'll see when you get to it.

  14. I suspect several retailers will "accidently" dispatch their copies on Saturday as planned anyway. Shopto had a fall out with Activision recently about the same sort of thing so can't see them not sending it out two days earlier for this.

Probably no indication of when they're planning to despatch, but shopto charged my card today.

  15. Does anyone on here subscribe to Marvel Unlimited? I'm finally getting an iPad soon and the catalog looks pretty sweet. I know you can't download and keep the comics, or tag more than 12 to read offline, but it still seems pretty cool to have access to that much material.

  16. anyone seen/heard thew new Limp Bizkit video. Band have mentioned that they wanna go back towards a rawer, unpolished kind of sound that would work as a sequel to their Unquestionable Truth record (which is criminally underrated) and i think it sounds f'n great, Limp Bizkit have fallen into that kind of category where they are a listed a guilty pleasure for many people, but regardless the new tune is quality.

That Lil Wayne part in particular is horrible, sounds like he's just turned down the track himself and record his part on his Macbook at home. Always enjoy Wes Borland's playing though, there's some nice stuff from him there. I just don't get what Limp Bizkit are trying to do anymore. They play all these festival shows where they openly don't want to play any new stuff because people just wanna hear the old stuff. Then they release new stuff and it just comes and goes in the blink of an eye. I thought Gold Cobra was pretty good.

  17. I stopped reading The Dark Knight book a while ago, that mad hatter storyline seemed to go on forever. Before that it was ok, nothing more. They did a Scarecrow story, which also went on too long. Wouldn't go out of your way to read it. It was drawn by David Finch, but then he left to go do one of the Justice League books.

  18. I've never considered him giving up the one dayers. He's not that old despite seeming like he's been around forever. He's been pretty fit for a long time now after getting over his early problems, though I'm sure he won't be bowling 13 over spells like today too often. It's probably something he'll be thinking about though, he's smashing records on an almost weekly basis on the top stage and I'm sure he'd like to keep at it as long as possible.
