Was watching some old Ravens Flock in WCW and Tenay mentioned a "Toughman/NHB" Division, this was in 1997 and was anythng really made of this?

 

There was definately a period when Bischoff was looking to bring in a group of legit MMA fighters, however the only name I remember as a cert was Don Frye. It is on one of the old Wrestling Observer Lives where Frye was a guest, and he tells a great tale about how he met with Eric Bischoff for lunch to discuss him joining WCW. Ernest Miller was either already with Bischoff or turned up late, then Miller started spouting off about how he would win the UFC as he would knock every one out. Frye started saying that he wouldn't knock him out, and Miller responds by saying they have never had a true world class kickboxer in the UFC, to which Frye responded with Maurice Smith. Miller kinda dismissed Smith, and was again spouting his own credentials and how he would knock everyone out. At which point Frye had enough of Miller, got in his face, and offered him outside there and then. No fight occurred, but that was the end of Frye for WCW, and probably also put the nail in the proposed MMA division. Frye also mentioned that due to his actions, WCW didn't even pay any of his bills.

Frye's incredibly lucky that Miller didnt step outside. The Cat is a THREE TIME WORLD KARATE CHAMPION. And a great dancer. He'd have stunned Frye with a one-liner and kicked him in the jaw while he was still groggy from witnessing a James Brown shuffle.

Worst match for me might have to go to AMW vs. LAX in the Electrified Cage match. I dont mind terrible business exposing shite, but if they botch the business exposing shite, it doubles the pain. I hate it when somebody fucks up and attempt at ruining the business.

Shawn Michaels has to win this. Nobody has delieved the big match quite like he has this decade. He's been twice the worker he was in the mid-90s and that's saying something. Jericho and Angle have never been half as good as Michaels is at any stage of their career, even in the balding, unfunny, botox induced Pob-looking, gammy-legged stage he's at now.

I dont think anyone else comes close to the consistany he's shown since 2003.

-Steve Austin returns at Unforgiven and beats everyone up.

-The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan staredown and promo war the night after No Way Out 2002

-Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H at SummerSlam 2002, gave me goosebumps.

-Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon WrestleMania 19, was crowdworking at it's finest.

-The final battle at the end of ECW One Night Stand

-Ric Flair's 18 month retirement.

There was just a bluey on TVX called "Horny City Hospital" that was made a couple of years ago. I caught the credits, and it featured a "Mark Sloan". Is it the one from FWA/Here? Stefan Hard was the cameraman for it, it said, so at least one wrestler was involved!

"Mark Sloan" used to pop-up (literally) on porn films when I had chipped On Digital back in the early part of the decade. It's not the same one thank god.

This thread is great, I'm currently watching nitro 96 and it's starting to really pick up. Around April ATM just waiting for hall to show up and it gonna really take off. The flair savage fued is really interesting even if liz can't be a heel to save her live. On to April 29 now. Keep up the good work.

- Skip the initial promo, and go straight to the British Invasion. To my surprise they're actually pretty funny in this, Brutus Magnus is quite possibly the best American based British wrestler on the mic right now. He's improved tremendously since his debut.

Really, some of the ground based attacks and grappling from both of these two are very entertaining. It's hilarious. Even more funny when the fight is over and the Cat legit winks at the camera. It's so strange.

Been wanting to slam in it into this bitch, since she was banging business men and rich folk as the street's resident slapper in Birds of a Feather. She was also in a wrestling-based shit-com with Brian Golver, who had famous comedy bouts with Les Kellet. Look at the legs and you'll get my reasoning. As V-Bints go, she's up there with them in my opinion.

The complete opposite to the "Viv" reason. Sure the wooden leg is a bit of a put-off, but if you can get past that, she isn't to bad. Sir Paul didn't think so until she tried to bleed him dry and I trust the judgement of a Beatle.
