  1. I've nearly finished Countdown to Lockdown. It really isn't worth your time for anyone who hasn't got it yet.

I had a flick through that at the library and went straight for the 'Magic Headphones' chapter. Maybe it's just me but I don't care about Lockdown, I wanted to find out the details on his WWE departure and exactly what Vince said to him to make him want to quit. Mick just writes

"Nonetheless, I'd like the actual content of the headphone head games to be left between Vince and myself, and between you and your imaginations"

NO!! That's one of the main things that could make the book interesting and he just sidesteps it.

In Jericho's new book, he writes word for word all the harsh things Vince said to him and it's fascinating to read. Foley should have done the same.

  2. http://www.avclub.com/articles/the-best-tv...-the-00s,35256/

The brilliant AV Club's list of the best shows of the decade. I am a bit amazed at Eastbound and Down being in the top 30, especially above Wonder Showzen and The West Wing, especially when the extraordinary "Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia" was left out, but it's small potatoes.

I just started watching It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia about 6 weeks ago and I've already finished all 5 seasons. Strongly recommended - no laughter track just good dark and depraved humour about things like abortion, cancer, molestation, chicks with dicks, retardation and drug addiction. What's not to like?

    Couple of clips

    You can't pick all the...?

    Just to get a base!

Also...people need to watch Breaking Bad!

  3. I've been playing LittleBigPlanet lately through a LoveFilm trial (:D). Stephen Fry adds so much to the game. I don't think those tutorial videos would have been as fun to do if it just had anyone else doing the voice-over. Very enjoyable game and yesterday I made my own level! Woo!

If anyone wants to play it to see good or bad my level is, then search for Tallica1981 as the user/creator ;)

There's a couple good prizes at the end. I think it's pretty fun ;)

  4. Pirates 2: Stagnetti's Revenge

Apparently the most expensive porno ever made. And I say I watched it, I saw a trailer for it after looking through the most popular film downloads on Isohunt and wondering what the hell it was. Lots of attractive young ladies and plain-looking men up to all sorts of shenanigans. Imagine, if you will, a really cheap pirate film with a bunch of sex in it. I really didn't watch it.

Re: Religulous, I'll be having a watch of that later. The thing with Bill Maher, he seemed to take a pretty big leap to the right after 9/11 and I wasn't sure how far back he's come since.

Depending on how you look at the film and the way he presents himself you will start to think that he's simply trying to say "all religious people are idiots" as he does tend to bash religion in quite a forceful way.

However the meeting with the holocaust denying rabbi seemed to get at him and he ended the interview which was surprising.

Watched it last night, very enjoyable. I don't think he was saying all religious people are idiots, he interviewed a priest/science dude from the Vatican who didn't seem like an idiot. The only ones who were presented as idiots were the ones who...ya know....were - anyone who thinks dinosaurs and man lived happily side by side, for example.

My favourite was how people just wash over the fact that the Jesus story is not at all original and has occurred many times in different countries and ages but with different names.

  5. Watched The Strangers last night. Awful, awful, AWFUL film. Words cannot describe how stupid and awful it is, so I'm not going to bother.

I thought the first 30 - 40 minutes were really good and had quite a scary feel to it.

Shame that they REALLY dragged out the tension and when they DID actually do something, it was a let down.

  6. Premieres on this evening on Sky Premiere..Death Sentence (I like the sound of this one)Reno 911!: MiamiWhat are your thoughts on these movies? Thank you.

Death Sentence is a really good revenge film, definitely worth watching. Kevin Bacon gets all 'Jodie Foster' on some gang members :DReno 911 Miami - tremendous! Semi improvised spoof of COPS style shows with the most incompetent police officers you can imagine. Quote: "If being a cop was easy, wouldn't we be good at it? Think about that." The Rock has a great cameo appearance in it too but don't watch it if you don't like silly comedy. Couple of clips -
**Speaking of silly comedy, I don't normally like Adam Sandler films but Zohan is really funny with some ridiculous scenes (first time he washes a client's hair, sexing his friend's mum, The Fonz being sick). Good stuff!I agree with everyone else's thoughts about The Promotion, it was too low key to be a comedy. It would have been better if Riley had been obnoxious..
  7. I watched X Files 2 today. I hadn't read any reviews beforehand but I've not read a positive one yet.

I'm a big fan of the show though (I was 'that' nerdy kid in school who was into the X Files so much he had not one but two X File watches) even today I have the logo wall clock I've had since 97.

Anyhoo, I enjoyed it. It wasn't what I was expecting as it wasn't scary and would probably just be an average thriller without the X Files name and characters.

    A few quick notes:

    * Scully Googling 'Stem Cell Research' really felt wrong! Maybe it was more interesting than seeing her read a medical journal on a desk but still, you'd expect her to already know about something as big as stem cell research.

    * Billy Conolly's "this isn't right....you've taken me to the wrong house" would have been a lot more dramatic if the actual house wasn't a few meters away with CRIME SCENE DO NOT CROSS tape all around it. Made Unnecessarily Angry Black FBI Agent and Pretty FBI Female seem stupid.

    * Xzibit (if that's his name) isn't a good actor. Billy Conolly was good.

    * If they get to make X Files 3 I hope they go all out and make a proper horror story.

  8. Just watched Superhero Movie. Absolutely frigging loved it, hilarious shit. I can understand why people wouldn't like it but I loved it.

Yeah I liked it too. I wasn't expecting too since it only gets about 3/10 on the IMDB but I watched it yesterday and laughed a few times and generally enjoyed it.
  9. I watched The Mist last night. One word: Awful!SPOILERZZZ!!!!For some crazy reason this film has a score in the 7s on the IMDB.Sadly it wasn't bad enough to be really funny, it was just bad.A mist descends on a small town and the entire town hide out at the local supermarket. After some talk about getting the generator back up (is it me or is that one of the most overused clich

  10. Watched Into The Wild two nights ago - After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life

It's currently ranked 186# in the IMDB's top 250 and it's a damn good film. Great acting and storyline. I didn't know it was based on a true story so seeing the picture of the actual guy at the end made it feel even more special. Worth watching so download it or rent it!

Also watched 30 Days of Night which is a pretty fun vampire film with Ashton Kutcher. Nothing spectacular but it's smart of the vampire gang to go to a place where they have 30 days of sun free fun. That added to the atmosphere and tension quite a lot. Cool that they didn't speak English too.

I agree with the people who say they enjoyed No Country For Old Men but felt that the ending was crappy. Shame as everything up to the last 20 minutes or so was very good.

  11. I watched Stardust last night, I hadn't heard anything about it other than DeNiro and Gervais were in..

What a great film! One of the best adventure films I've seen in a long time. The acting, especially between the 2 leads, felt really natural. Lots of humour in it as well.

I just had a look on the IMDB and it won an award for 'Overlooked Film of the Year'. I assumed it hadn't been released here yet but it came out in October. I'm surprised it hasn't achieved more acclaim.
