Is season 2 of Toast of London better than the first?

I loved the first episode of s1 with the psycho girlfriend and the hoarder but the other episodes didn't really amuse me as much.

I'm reading William Regal's book at the moment and really enjoying it. His drug abuse is covered in so much detail. So many pages end with "but things were about to get worse" and you think jeze, how?! And then he's right. He's lucky to be alive. 

Really honest book, well worth reading. 

Has anyone seen Matt Striker's Finishing School?

I watched it the other night and it's interesting and worth watching but boy does he try hard to prove he's straight. Parts are quite obnoxious, you can see why people would dislike him. 

Why do the police in WWE have to literally read the person their rights? I've never seen that on any US cop show...taking out a little credit sized card with the lines on it. Surely if they were doing it day after day they'd no the rights off by heart? Always looks so phony in WWE.

Been playing a lot lately after weeks of mostly just playing ps4 Watch Dogs. 

Taking a break from GTA makes you realise how impressive it is when you return to it. Definitely up for joining a crew. I don't mind if you drive everywhere!

I enjoy the game play on Watch Dogs but the storyline and characters are completely uninteresting to me. I just like taking out gangs with the hacking and slow motion headshots with the silenced pistol. Very satisfying.

It's disappointing how it doesn't feel next gen though, rain and water look nice as do the explosions but apart from it feels rushed. Standing in front of a mirrored surface and not seeing your guy in the reflection is weird when games have done it going back 14 years or more.. (Deus Ex)

I played Outlast for about an hour a few weeks ago and will play more when I'm feeling braver. With headphones and in the dark it's easily the scariest game I've played. Without a weapon or any way to fight, you feel completely helpless.

Cheers man, did the test and the speakers are all working fine.

I tried it through my TV speakers too and it was just as poor. I think it's the game. No other ps3 game has made me question the sound and SR3 and SR2 were both fine. Weirdly it does sound clearer and louder through PCM rather than DTS.

Yeah there was a patch when I first played it but I don't know what it fixed.

 

Crashing into cars or running through fences doesn't make a sound. I've uninstalled the game data and reinstalled but it didn't help. Found a post on a forum with someone having the same problem with SR3 but that's all..

 

Edit - hmm, fiddled with my ps3 sound settings and changed audio output to PCM instead of DTS or DD and it sounds better! Speed running and jumping do make sounds now (but not the impactful sounds I'd expect them to make but maybe that's just how the game is?) and cars make noise too. Woohoo!

 

PCM should be the highest quality setting. If your amp can deal with it, use that. If it can't and only supports Dolby Digital or DTS, use that (DTS is better).

 

Has your amp got some sort of auto compression on? Some amps have a "Night" button that reduces the dynamic range of the game.

 

Otherwise.. I guess the game doesn't have very good sound

As far as I know it doesn't have any auto compression facility, the only things I can adjust on it is how loud each of the speakers are.

On the PS3 audio settings, PCM was listed as just 2 channels so I wasn't expecting it to be better than the 5.1 options but it has made a difference and sound is coming out of all the speakers, which surprised me.

I'm a bit confused...Jessie knows Brock wasn't poisoned by the ricin so why was he so angry when he realised the ricin was taken by Saul?

 

He realised that Walt set him up to hate Gus I believe? Or something along those lines.

 

To be honest, its not reallt Gus at all. Jesse always knew Gus was bad news. It's simply he put a child's life at risk as despite it not being Ricin, it as still poisonous.

I just didn't get how Jessie knew that Walt poisoned Brock just because he had his ricen stolen. How did he know Walt had anything to do with it when it was explained away as being contact with a lily of the valley?

Has anyone been playing Saints Row 4?

I'm playing it on ps3 with surround sound speakers and the sound effects just seem either too quiet or missing completely.

Running at super speed doesn't even make a sound. Super jumps make a slight noise. It spoils it and fiddling with the sound levels doesn't help. Tried it just through my TV speakers and it was just the same. Very strange. Feels unfinished.

That's the best thing I've heard about this game so far. Always found it really annoying in GTA how you'd hide behind some bin in an alley and the police knew exactly where you were even if they weren't around when you ran down there.
