This has possibly been asked before but does anyone know the best place to get update to date DVD's of Japanese shows, particularly Big Japan?

Not sure if he'd have the latest ones, but UKFFer PUNQ does alot of Japanese dvds i believe!

I didnt think he was on here anymore because I havent seen him posting much. Will check it out though

actually does anyone now what alot of the original CZW/XPW deathmatch guys are upto these days. Ive said before i was a big mark for all that shit when i was younger and it seems that pretty much all of em have stopped wrestling now (which is understandable). Any word? the only guy ive heard of after the deathmatch stint was Nick Mondo.

I dont have any links sadly. I downloaded it from a wrestling torrent site a few years ago and the site isnt there anymore. If I remember rightly the documentary was called cutting deep though. Had a quick look on youtube but cant see anything there.

Richie, I know he retired but what's Thumbtack Jack up too?? Just wondering as I was watching TOD 8 earlier and seeing all his bumps with cinder blocks and stunts with syringes it was obvious he was never going to have a long career. However I remember watching a documentary on him a while back and he seemed an intelligent enough bloke to have something to fall back on. So does he or is he just doing nothing with himself now??

Exactly. It's not just the fact they can't actually work, they actually don't understand how to structure a match. But the people watching deathmatches hardly care about this kind of thing.

The bit in bold isnt strictly true. A lot of the Japanese deathmatch workers especially know how to structure a match ie they build up to the big spots and bumps. Necro Butcher can as well IMO, maybe not in a deathmatch setting but when you take him out of it he can structure a match which is evident if you watch his matches against the likes of Samoa Joe. Also Terry Funk worked deathmatches......

In 2004 there would have been no chance of this happening. BJPW and CZW did not get on from 2001-2009/10, it was only when Zandig sold up that the relationship was repaired.

I don't know if it's still there, but there used to be one run by a member/wrestler from here (Majik?). It was on the top floor of a Dungeons and Dragons shop (Bishop Games, Google says) in City Arcade.

 

That shop has closed down now. I don't know of any wrestling shops in Coventry anymore.

I was watching Jim Cornette's Youshoot the lost questions last night and this was on it. Not sure if its been posted before and apologises if it has but its an excellent piece of wrestlecrap!

Im currently watching the Slammy awards from Monday night and when Christian comes out Michael Cole calls him Edge's buddy. When did this start instead of them being "brothers"? If it has been a while I apologise as I've only been dipping in and out of WWE for a good while now but thats the first time I remember hearing it.

 

They'd definately dropped the 'brother' aspect of the relationship before Christian left for TNA. I definately recall a tag match from that period where they teamed and were referred to as lifelong friends and long-time tag partners on commentary, but not brothers.

Ah ok. Maybe I heard it then and just dont remember because I was watching regularly back then. Just seemed weird to me when I heard it while watching the Slammys last night.

Was this something Bischoff seen Sign Guy Dudley doing and decided to copy? Or was there another reason?

I recently got the Macho Man set off Silvervision and Im watching it just now. Im on the mixed tag match with Dusty and when Dusty comes to the ring instead of the "American Dream" music there is something that is or sounds incredibly like an old game show song from the UK. Anyone know which one it is?

I think they might of had a bit of bother at the time of release for using his original theme as it was made by Jimmy Hart.

I figured that as I know they have had to change other themes on DVD releases. Just wondering whey they chose to use Wheel of Fortune. It just seems so out of place!
