  1. Just seen a clip on that on sky news saying it never happened, and that iranian tv made it up.

It may just be a sign of the times, but the day has come where I'm not sure if I should believe Sky News or Iranian TV.

That day came for me earlier this year. Hence my recent outspokenness on geopolitical matters.

Most of the news is just bought and paid for from Rueters, or Bloomberg. Murdoch being the only other real player.

It is said that in the US 25 years ago there were about 30 main players in the "News" business. Now there are just five.

  2. What's absurd is the fact that "we're all in this together" is treated as a theory of conspiracy.

It's clearly a fact and you're a fucking idiot if you think otherwise.

We've never been "in it together". Never.

Anyway. This is my first time in this thread. Here's something of interest:

Microsoft has filed a patent for a system that monitors the behavior of employees via computers, phone calls, and physical gestures, and alerts human resources if anyone is behaving outside of preferred norms.

Fits too nicely with the US aim of detecting "national security threats" (arf) by technology.

Odd that The Sun gave two pages to discredit Icke. Sure, Icke talks some interesting stuff but it's not been disproved.

Encouraging people to not think critically is fucking outragous. People should think for themselves and take time to view the evidence.

Instead, most people are scared of sticking out and fight for the Quo by default.

Many people still think the Royal family are mere figure-heads for tourism. That's how blinded people are!

Many people think we should pay the amount of tax we do or even more. That's how ignorant of history many people are!

We're getting robbed and enslaved and most people are apathetic towards this.

We're living in a bad remake of Logan's Run here.

  3. We can't disarm the nuclear weapons! We'll need them to protect us from the aliens when they invade!!

    1) Nuclear weapons produce no blast in a vacuum as their is no air to carry the shockwave. Therefore is just dumps a load of radiation in a rather meek fashion.

    2) Any craft travelling interplanetary would have shields to protect against radiation.

I know it was just a joke but wanted to throw some science out there for people.

    :)

Iran needs to be an IMF country like the current 187. These pesky "rogue states" etc.

  4. It may be democracy, but I certainly believe that it's manipulated by those in charge, and those who stand to make money from the various policies that our Governments put in place.

When you see how our system works, and the complete arse it's made of things in this part of the world it really isn't that difficult to see why so many in other parts of the world are suspicious of it and us.

    This. 100% this.

    Our democracy works like this:

    Vote for Capatalist Party A

    or

    Vote for Capatalist Party B

    or

    Waster Your Votez

Parties need funding. They get it from big business.

Who do these parties represent? The people who voted for them or those that backed them with the monies?

I just see the decisions they make and make my own mind up.

Oh, and Max Keiser is the fucking man.

  5. Keith Olbermann on Mayor Bloomberg's crackdown on the Occupy protesters:

    Thanks for posting.

Anonymous are due to announce the second stage of the plan soon. Numbers are up.

The idea we should cut back on international aid is based on the premise that the aid is merely a charitable gift to help the poor and unfortunate. Whilst a small amount of money given may fit that purpose, I'd say there are far deeper diplomatic and trade reasons behind most of the money we give. Just as the Libyan war wasn't, in spite of how it was presented, simply an intervention in the name of glorious liberty, the billions we ship abroad in the name of 'foreign aid' have other motives besides improving human rights and conditions.

Considering it would be one of the easiest things to cut back, and this government is entirely focused on cutting government spending (or such is the public face), there have to be purposes beyond helping the poor at work here, especially since the way the money is distributed doesn't really show the poorest and neediest being helped.

I don't think it's quite as mysterious as you make out. The quicker we can get the poorer countries up and consuming the quicker we can sell em stuff, trade their bonds, take advantage of emerging credit markets.

We're investing in em, obviously, which is done almost entirely for selfish reasons (or at the very least, there's a decent fiscal argument for doing the right thing, depening on which way round you want to look at it.)

    I don't think that's really new news.

Debt is nationalised. Profit is privatised.

We pay to build the markets but we wont get the profit. The big corporations will. On the cheap too.

    This is outrageous.

  6. Anyone on here got involved with the Occupy movement in their city/town? I popped down to Bournemouth Town Hall to show my support last Wednesday. Good atmosphere, chatting to them about why they are doing it. It pissed down with rain though, brave people.

Nothing about here. It's a shame that more haven't turned out to those towns that have Occupy in place... but then, Strictly Come Dancing is on this weekend y'know.

The world has played this game now for nearly 300 years. It's got to stop one day. :(

  7. Hopefully. I wasn't a fan of all the plane/copter missions in San Andreas (that last one in the training desert strand took me about 45 minutes to complete and almost caused me a nervous breakdown) but most of them were great fun.

I never completed that mission. Never. So never made it to the Las Vegas place officially.

By that point, I'd done all the side missions so all I had left was quite a boring gangster version of The Sims.

SA starts great in the first City but then it's all downhill. Some good missions but nothing to give a shit about once you leave the hood.

The countryside was great to begin with but stacking a bike in the middle of nowhere and falling in the sea led to plenty of boring game time.

I still load it up to go bike riding though. And the music is awesome.... but Vice City is the coolest imo. By miles.

GTAIV did have the best character and acting. I gave a shit right to the end and never lost thread of the story. Shame the side missiosn dried up as once the main stor was done, there wasn't much left to do.

    Bring on GTA5. I'm sure we'll love it :)

  8. Sadly, most haven't figured it out even though an MP was snapped with papers on Number 10s doorstep that told us what the score is...

Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have newish central banks. They are now members of "The 187 IMF Countries".

I think the countries left outside of the "Central Bankers" web are:

Venezuela, Syria, Iran, North Korea, Russia and China .

Although, it's hard to find this stuff out. 187 member countries is a fact.

Syria are next... and then World War 3.

One group of people have been on the winning side of every major war over the past 150 or so years.... the people who finance the regimes. The Central Bankers.

  9. Just my opinion, but that seems clearly intended as a light hearted comment rather than an attempt to actually kick anything off.

    FREEDOM OF SPEECH MOTHERFUCKER!!

And if it was an attempt to kick something off? Fuck... we must like being told what to do and be quiet yeah??

There's a group of people in charge and forever will it remain when meek arseholes pander to them with quiet obedience.

If Hitler rose to power.... nope, don't riot.

If the police start shooting everyone... nope, don't riot.

There must surely be a case for a good riot now and then.

When the dollar collapses, these riots will be nothing. The Army will come and shoot you for robbing food then.

I guess peaceful protest makes some people feel powerful. The blind fuckers who think this shit musty have failed to realise that silent protests have achieved fuck all ever.

You need some poor cunt to set himself on fire these days.

So, when that US Dollar collapses.... you stay indoors and do what you're told. Leave the looting to those with a survival instinct left intact.... or wake the fuck up you poor, poor slaves.

  10. The thing is even when governments do, and I mean of all parties, try and tackle underlying social problems (particularly as concerns money) they focus on reducing poverty. They do this in many ways, some effective and some not, but so endemic is our belief in the 'reduction of poverty' that we forget that reducing poverty only raises incomes, reducing inequality raises spirits. And, if we want young men and women, constantly bombarded with advertisements and implicit references to things they don't have, and have no hope of having, to feel like valued members of society then we have to look at tackling inequality as well as just poverty.

Clearly, this doesn't mean a reductionist Marxist view of income inequality but rather a holistic view of inequality that looks at access to resources, and tools, that wealthier individuals take for granted. This means looking at things like the 'internship' culture in the careers market, whereby people are expected to work for free to bolster their CV (unattainable for people from low income families); the decentralisation of the economy (high speed rail is actually a part of this) as well as looking at the benefits of a graduate tax or other solutions.

Aside from equality, as a society we need to look at the responsiveness, and representativeness, of the state institutions. The first aspect of this was looking at changing the archaic first-past-the-post voting system (and, no, before some smart arse jumps in i'm not linking this directly to the riots) but that failed because we allowed the conservative media to control the narrative, but other tools are available to us; the ability to recall MP's, community policing arrangements whereby chief constables hold community conferences monthly to address certain issues, the devolution/decentralisation of economic powers to cities so public services can be tailored to the needs of the individual communities and perhaps even the installation of directly elected Mayors in all cities so that local people have a political focal point, aside from an MP, who is not caught between the cross hairs of localism and central government.

    Amen to that post.

  11. Ok, if I just be serious for a minute...

Why has a curfew not been implemented? Not to mention getting army patrols out there to enforce it?

Compared to what I've seen over the years at flashpoints in Northern Ireland, the response by the authorities has been pretty meek.

Curfew? Policed by Army? That's a fucking shit idea!

How many steps between you hardline fascist ideas and full-on Martial Law?

Lock up innocent people because the media scared us... ok, but don't worry, our future involves Army personnel telling us when we can and can't leave our homes so you'll get what you want one day.

    Have a think dickhead.

  12. The police misuse their budget terribly. I used to work occasionally in events, and the police used to regularly splurge much money on badly run 'training courses' for their staff at expensive venues. Having sat through one of these training courses for how to relate with domestic violence or some shit, I can corroborate that they 'taught' nothing more than common sense and wasted a load of money paying the officers to be there, on venue hire and on food and drink.

    Here's another example from personal experience of incompetent, wasteful use of police resources. I have had three run ins with the police, and they were dealt with as such;

    - My drum kit and several other expensive items were stole from my garage. I called the police, they sent round two 'special support officers' who talked to me for ten minutes. I got a call two days later saying they had 'asked people living nearby' and nobody had seen or heard anything and they would keep me informed of developments. I have, of course, heard nothing since.

    - I turned slowly into a street that had recently become 'one way'; I quickly backed out having realised my mistake. There were no other cars around. A police car was stationed at the head of the one way street. It duly motioned for me to stop. I was given a

  13. These riots were predicted a couple of years ago for this summer in London...

When that US dollar collapses next year, you know we'll all be fucked right? They know we will be, and they'd love some more control methods... at least they will prepare us for martial law.

    Stay safe motherfuckers.

  14. I've been mostly been watching Angry Boys, Apprentice, Jamie's Food Revolution - Hollywood and Lee Nelson's Well Good Show. Oh yeah and the Hotel programme that just finished on Channel 4 (Sundays).

Angry Boys is another work of genius!

Amen to that. Angry Boys is the best thing on TV right now. It's taken over from Stewart Lee very well!

    I fuckin love Angry Boys.

  15. I'd say the more pertanent question is 'How can you prove the police and authorities have harassed them?'

By taking the evil fuckers to court perhaps?

This wouldn't be the first time that a paedo ring has influence and has used that influence to discredit a victim. It won't be the last.

In the world I live in, people like Holly are discriminated against on a daily basis.

Someone in this thead says she has the mental age of 7 so therefore does not know what's happening... what a load of shit. Seven is getting on a bit! AN example of discrimination right there.

In my life, there's no crime more serious than paedophilia. Make the accused stand trail. There's evidence against them. What does it take to get justice?!

Ah yeah, you need the favour of the police. Like how some vandals can smash my window, admit it, not pay, and the police drop the case because they can't be arsed.

Sad world we live in with bullshit served as democracy and repression served as justice.

But that's my tuppence, I'm gonna fuck off.

Not all of us view discussion forums as a place to debate and argue. Some just want to bring balance by offerring their own opinions and read the general opinion of a populace. I'm in that camp.

I've not read the whole thread because it's a free world and I had an opinion before coming here today.

    Goodday sirs.

    :)

  16. Did the Road Warriors ever face the Blade Runners?

Not that I know of. I found a post that said this on another forum:

"The Road Warriors were the gold standard for over sterioded muscle teams, so Paul Bosch took a young team called Power Team USA and turned them into the face paint wearing Blade Runners(Sting and Rock aka The Ultimate Warrior) in order to have his own version of the team. Rumor were that Paul Bosch had a verbal contract on the table for the Road Warriors to come over the the NWA and prove who was the better team. Unfortunately Paul Bosch's long time fight with cancer took a turn for the worse and he died. His fed folded, The Warrior's ego began to grow and he bolted for WCCW, and Sting went to NWA and teamed with and fueded with The Road Warriors on his own. "

Not a primary source, obviously, but likely truth.
