A few mentions of star names doing tours over here, reminded me of my best mate who’s a bit of a casual going to a pubs n clubs tour in 99 with Yokozuna and Fatu. At the signing afterwards, Fatu was telling everyone that he was heading back to the WWF, which Tom and I laughed off when he told me about it, but of course turned out to be true. When Tom got his autograph he said to him “Whatever you do, don’t come back as the Sultan.” He says Fatu acted shocked that he knew before laughing it off and saying “Don’t worry, I won’t.”

Always slightly annoyed me that he got to see Yoko and I didn’t. But I wouldn’t swap, I saw his all time favourite, Mr Perfect, pin Ric Flair with the Perfect Plex.

Went to one of those Yoko/Fatu shows at the time, although the Fatu appearing at Irvine Magnum Centre was apparently not Rikishi but another one, possibly Sam. Not that I realised it at the time.

Us kids main concern was wondering if the gym's double doors were wide enough for Yoko to walk through (they were). Incidentally Yoko and Fatu lost via DQ to Drew McDonald (I think) and "Henrik the Viking".

Actually I watched last years Rumble yesterday and Michael Cole went on a stat babble about how on average number 3 spends the least amount of time in the Rumble. Which is true when you think about how many Rumbles over the years started with two decent guys then number 3 was disposable, and dumped pretty quickly. Santino coming out in 2008 to join Shawn and Undertaker for instance. But it’s horseshit that he tries to convince me that it’s a worse number.

Teds luck barely improved. He was number 2 in 1992 and first out by Davey Boy, and number 4 in 1993.

To be fair, that was not fair to Flair.

Tom Brandi says hello from number 3.

Also, the two lengthy Royal Rumble 1992 reviews from years ago on here (I think you may have done one of them?) should be a mandatory watch and read for UKFFers.

I also disagree that the results were a crapshoot. Clydebank and Clyde might seem evenly matched, but it was a small upset and Rory and I at least went for a draw in that one. The Hamilton outcome might've been a dud but it was also a huge shock. Those things will happen sometimes. The real impossible scoreline was at Chambéry RFC where it very nearly was a rugby score! The two Austrian home wins caught a lot of people out too, despite being league matches. At least progress for Toulouse proved fruitful. The 'wildcard fixture' was match #1, Palace v Villa, and only two participants rightly saw Gerrard's victorious start continuing at Selhurst Park.

The stalemate at Carrow Road and the score draw at Stamford Bridge turned out a bit tougher to foresee. Rory got his D2D wrong and everybody else took advantage to claim their pair of bonus points. The team he picked seem to think Lithuania should still be under German occupation. But then again, so does the first verse of the German national anthem. This completes all the first-choice D2Ds for the season.

I was going to predict both Clydebank and Talbot to win but bottled it at and went for the draws. Also no surprises my D2D let me down as that always happens, despite the best efforts of the Deutsch-Balten.
