  1. I keep on hearing stories of Phil Collins meeting the Warrior in the early nineties. Did this actually happen? Cheers brahs.

Yeah. There was a picture of it in WWF Magazine. I believe it was some sort of charity event or something. A similar occasion brought together Steve Borden and Gordon Sumner for a picture which appeared in several UK newspapers (most of which labelled our Sting as a WWF wrestler)...
Actually I have this magazine still-it was for a 'TV special' Phil Collins did in the States....he wrestled Warrior as part of a special video they made for a performance of, I believe, Two Hearts. (Cue many, many people suggesting he would have been better suited using Bret Hart there...lol)
  2. I just watched King Kong, through rather illicit means it must be said, and I must say it was a helluva lot better than I thought it would be-I actually found myself laughing out loud at the 'every time she gets away from the dinosaur she gets thrown towards the other one' bit....and it definitely keep me thoroughly entertained throughout. Thought they got the 'humanity' of Kong out well too. It's not going to be hailed as 'intelligent cinema' but its still a very nice looking film

  3. Does anyone know on which show the September 1st title change happened? Was it on challenge or what? Is it on any Silvervision VHS release?

The match is available on WWF's Year In Review 1992 if you can track that tape down anywhere
I know someone who has a copy and might be putting it on eBay soon... :smug:
The match is also available on the WWF Colloseum video that is called 'Smack Em Whack Em' (oh dear!)
  4. ,May 5 2005, 14:01] Pop Idol (PS2): Blame the girlfriend. Moving on...

I hired that Pop Idol game once....found it surprisingly enjoyable. Yes, its crap but its pretty funny, especially if you get a few pissed mates round.
  5. Doomdarks Revengeyay! 1986 is still calling me back to the land of Icemark! One of, if not THE first, 1st person game where you commanded more than one character. Expansive world, and great fun if you give it a chance :) They are updating everything on the game at the moment and releasing an update, the original game "Lords of Midnight" is done, DDR is on it's way and a clever programmer has released an updated/enhanced multiplayer version which is wicked. Here's a link...What am I talking about!

You sir are a god....I still have the original Lords of Midnight in its packaging too (and I think Doomdark's too)....awesome games way ahead of their time!
  6. Playing a lot of Touken Retsuden 4 at the moment, plus Giant Gram 2000. Also dipping in and out of random SNES games I have emulated on the PC, of which there are a lot so its rarely the same one twice (though Tetris Battle Gaiden rules!)

  7. Am I mad in thinking that the first manager Demolition~ ever had in the WWF was Luscious Johnny V?

I always assumed it was Mr Fuji but you could be right. It was definitely Fuji by the time Wrestlemania IV rolled around (their first WM) but wouldn't know if they initially had Luscious Johnny for house shows and TV prior to that.
  8. Whatever happened to the S.A.T's?They seemed to be on every indy show two years ago.

Not sure-I know anyone who saw Mikey Whipwreck's shoot interview at Frontiers of Honor will know his thoughts on Joel (or Jose, can't remember which) getting fat and lazy, I guess they are still around on the indy scene, but I think their appeal dropped off when so many other high fliers appeared doing what they did.
  9. Ok quick question ive been reading up on alot of shows that feature Samoa Joe and i have one thing to ask and that is what is the muscle buster? thanks in advance

Ok, I'll try and describe it....he takes them off the top rope on his shoulders...they are cradle upside down in kind of a folded up vertical torture rack position. Then he drops them down in this position....hard to explain, but very cool...think there is footage of it on samoajoe.com
  10. Was going through some old WCW magazines yesterday (willing to sell them so if you are interested PM me) and there were several tag teams that seemed to have short spells in WCW around early 1990s. Anyone know anything about the Awesomg Kongs (managed by Harley Race) Cole Twins or Thunder and Lightning.

Lightning was an early WCW gimmick, and he found more "fame" as the NWO Sting I believe.
Awesome Kongs were two huge fat (and fairly immobile) guys brought in by Harley Race to fight Cactus Jack to try and sidetrack him from Vader. They didn't last long and weren't that good. The Cole Twins were blonde haired bland twins, around 1993/4. They had a modicum of popularity but were never that good. I shamefully remember them 'dancing' in the ring with Scorpio and Buff Bagwell on an episode of Worldwide prior to an 8 man tag (still have some of their matches on tape). I'm sure I heard either Keith or Kent (was that his name?) Cole mentioned recently in wrestling news, but can't think why? Did they get a dark match with WWE or TNA or something?Thunder and Lightning I probably saw once, but don't remember it!(Incidentally still have copies of WCW magazines from this period with pictures and articles on all of the above in them---oh the good old days!)
