  1. Is there anywhere other than XWT to keep up with the latest Big Japan shows? Even just to stream them online?

    Thanks in advance

If the Big Japan shows air there are people who put them up on either dailymotion or one of the other video sites. Best bet is join the Classic Japanese Wrestling group on Facebook and look at their upload schedule on there (they upload any non-New Japan World shows as soon as possible after they air).

  2. yeah, lack of Flash prevents the PS3/Xbox run. There is an android app called Cast2TV that does let you cast it through a Chromecast from your android phone. But this just keeps freezing the video for me-some people have found this works well though

  3. The entire run of Clash Of The Champions is available on the Network now. Any recommendations on ones to check out? I've got the Best Of COTC Bluray so I'm familiar with some stuff but I've never seen any of them in full. Where should I start?

I've started using a random number generator to select stuff at random on the Network. Could easily do that to help select a Clash. Who knows what you might find?

How have you done that mate? I desperately need a way to randomly choose a ppv. I spend 30 mins trying to figure out what to watch!

Random.org for the random number generator. I just use the numbers to pick the xth in each menu. Gives a nice variety and saves the time of trying to pick something!

  5. Question: Listening to the Attitude Era podcast and they're up to Survivor Series 1999. They mention a segment from Raw around that time where DX pretend to rape Stephanie, only to reveal the next week that it was "only" a local college student.

I have never heard of this pretty shocking-sounding segment (even for a company that has done necrophilia). Does anyone have a link to it?

Haven't heard of it either. It would be pretty mental if they did consider it due to the Marlena "X-Files" thing with Pillman implied rape problems back in the day. Pillman's "X-Files" is pretty shocking even now.

They just showed it on the Network. Pretty distasteful stuff. Basically DX keeps opening the locker room door to reveal a woman on the floor with Billy Gunns on top of her and you hear her screaming. They then make so horrific remarks and laugh about it, only making it worse when the fact it was 'just a local skank' is laughed off and they overtly imply she liked what she got. Even by WWE standards this was horrendous bad taste and came at the same week as they aired Bossman making fun of Big Shows dad dying of cancer.

  6. Watching the 1999 Arnold appearance on Smackdown. I'm actually shocked just how far they were going at this point. From the Bossman's speech about cancer to DX pretending to have raped Stephanie (and then justifying it by saying "it's ok it wasn't her just some skank from down the road") some of this comes across far more distasteful than entertaining

  7. The Steiners in ECW. Anything worth seeking out?, cheers.

Definitely check out their six man with Eddie v Scorpio, Malenko and Cactus Jack. They also had a match against 2 Cold Scorpio & Chris Benoit. If you don't now have a desire to witness that, you may need to rethink how much of a wrestling fan you are:)

  8. I've been currently watching through a 15 disc 'Best Matches in Nitro History' set I recently acquired. Reached 1997 and my word was Hector Garza more fun than I remembered. There was a six man with him, Calo, Juvi, Ciclope and some others I forget that was just tremendous-Calo wipes out two rows of fans with a full on plancha at high speed!

I could be wrong but i think Garza was being built up quite a bit. Is that the match where Garza does the spinning corkscrew of the top to the outside?

I recall him being given a victory over Scott Hall on Nitro, so yes. Don't recall if he did the spinning corkscrew to the outside here, but certainly remember him doing so on Nitro

  9. I've been currently watching through a 15 disc 'Best Matches in Nitro History' set I recently acquired.

    More info please!

It's available for download on the "classic" version of one of those sites with 'WT' in the title

  11. What was the UWA docu-drama called that was on L!VE TV in 1999 called? And was it any good?

It was less a docu-drama and more an actual wrestling show. Had some decent matches on too amidst the craziness. Doug Williams v Stevie Knight had a particularly enjoyable bout.

  12. One of the Superstar Series ones actually spells Tony Schiovane's surname horrendously wrong.

    *Schiavone

Yep...they actually do an even worse job than that though...it's something ridiculously bad like Sciovvani.

  13. Jeff Gaylord.

How did he not get over with a name like that?

When did WCW stop putting credits at the end of their Pay Per Views?

WCW only used to put credits on the PPVs on their VHS released. I havent got any credits on my orginally taped WCW DSF videos.

    OK thanks

I loved the horrendous spelling mistakes in the end credits on some of the WCW videos. One of the Superstar Series ones actually spells Tony Schiovane's surname horrendously wrong. And lists him as the Executive Producer of the whole tape, which makes it even worse!

  14. Vince McMahon isn't an independent contractor. And I'm not sure Triple H is anymore, either, but if he is, then contractually he could be released at any time. As could Cena, Undertaker, Batista etc. But the stars would never get released without doing something very wrong. The reason that WWE has the option to end the contract is that shitehawks like Paul London or Tatanka or whoever can be cut loose if they aren't earning their keep.

Or they release them when the writers can't think of anything for them....as opposed to releasing the writer who can't do their job properly.
