  1. Just stuck Gremlins on my iPod and watched half of it on the way to work. Was laughing so much on the way in people on the tube were sacred. The effects are nowhere near as good as I remember them (last watched it 5 years ago roughly) but damn, I love this film :DLooked up mogwai on wiki. Turns out they are oriental demons/mischeif makers :D

According to Chinese tradition, mogwai are certain demons, which often inflict harm on humans. They are said to reproduce sexually during mating seasons triggered by the coming of rain. Supposedly, they take care to breed at these times because rain signifies rich and full times ahead. The term "mo" derives from the Sanskrit "Mara",[citation needed] meaning 'evil beings', which shares a cognate with the Persian "Magi" from which the English word "magic" derives. In Hinduism and Buddhism, Mara determines fates of death and desire that tether people to an unending cycle of reincarnation and suffering. He is the source of evil and purposely leads people to sin, misdeeds and self-destruction. Meanwhile, "gui" does not necessarily mean 'evil' or demonic spirits. Classically, it simply means deceased spirits or souls of the dead. Nevertheless, in modern Chinese, it has evolved to refer usually to the dead spirits or ghosts of non-family members that may take vengeance on living humans who caused them pain when they were still living. It is common for the living to redress their sins by sacrificing money to gui by burning (usually fake) paper banknotes so that gui can have funds to use in their afterlife.Notably, the modern popular use of mogui as 'demonic' and gui as 'devils' is somewhat a consequence of Western influences as Chinese-language biblical texts translate the Satan in the Book of Job and the Greek term 'diabolos' as mogui.

Also looked up the films and it seem that 1 in 1000 are 'Gizmo' like, well adjusted and cute. The other 999 are mischevious and hate the 1 that's nice. Also says they come from out of space...Bah there goes the chances of finding them...
  2. I think Munich is an interesting film if you remember the events and want an insight into the people behind it. But it is far too long and it could stop about 20 minutes before the end. It's well done, a piece of opinionated history and very interesting, but to be honest it's not something I'd watch twice. Once was more than enough. Clear some space from the calendar and give it a view, you'll probalby work out within the first 20-30 mins if you're going to like it or not.

  3. Been watching Dexter.

Didn't know much about her before but there's something about Julie Benz which is incredibly cute, very Milfish :D

She might be a bit conventional for this thread, but hey, she's not the 'stunner' of the series anyway :D

Edit: Just realised she's only 2 years older than me :D

  4. Khan should have been stopped after the first knockdown, if he'd been fighting in America, or the other guy had stumbled away like that it would have been stopped. He's lucky he didn't get battered more, poor refereeing I think.

Had it been the 2nd round or later I'd 100% agree. However it 'may' have been a lucky punch and he could've recovered after a short period if he'd stayed away. I think the reffing was fine.
  5. Look it's pretty simple.I don't always, well half the time even, agree with Seven's opinions on things, however he obviously always thinks about things, sometime maybe overthinks them, but he puts his point across well most of the time, even if the odd "that's shit" post is dismissive and lowers his general standard, he will normally come back and outline why he thought that way. He's not like most people on here. I picture Seven as the kind of person that will get to age 80 and be sitting in a bar cursing society and how bad it's become with a pint and a copy of the sun in his pocket... actually will probably be a copy of the guardian... some people will listen and think "nutcase" others will listen and think "yeah he's making sense" but one thing is sure.He will ensure that everyone has an opinion on him.I still think one day those opinions have a very good chance of becoming a decent career. He's the kind of guy that starts websites like "Rotten Tomatoes" :D

  6. I did.calderon4524563.jpgThis was the only picyure I could find, doesn't really do it justice. I think Vitali Klitchkos cuts against Lennox Lewis were worse. I was actually quite enjoying that fight until it was stopped, Calderon's probably the best pure boxer going today now that Mayweather has retired and James Toney has waned.

That pic doesn't do it justice but to everyone else a few seconds after the adrenaline (vaseline like stuff) gets wiped off and all the white bit is pretty much a cut) Yeah, Klitchkos cuts were bad, but I still think that's the worst single cut I've seen. The fight was warming up a little and it looked like it was going to start going to the next level when it was stopped. Not sure Cazeres deserved to lose it to be honest.
  7. Ooooh...That was embarrasing. Where was his defence?Anyway.Anyone see the Ivan Calderon Vs Hugo Cazeres fight last week?Shit fight, Calderon was taking a bit of a beating but somehow managed to headbutt Cazeres's shoulder and popped the V shaped artery on his forehead, seriously it's the worst cut I've ever seen in boxing, when you saw it straight on the entire crowd did that "Ooooooooh!!!!" thing and you could see Calderon's skull through the split, it was bigger than a 50p piece.Very nasty. Can't find a pic or a vid of it anywhere but ungh! Poor fellah.
  8. Don't dare feel sorry for me you fucking cumstain. I'm not in any mode where I "can't enjoy stuff" . I love and hate with equal measure, and I never engage an art form like it's an exam, so no, retract your pity, and don't bother giving your opinion when it comes to me, because you're just a little boy who has no clue about anything, despite how much you bang on about your girlfriend or your band.

JesuSlipknotThe Assasination of Jessie JamesThere. Three things off the top of my head I KNOW Seven likes...Actually not 100% sure about Jesu but pretty sure. Looking on here for about 40 seconds would probably show if he does/doesn't.It's wrong to say Seven doesn't like anything, he's just a person who's pretty picky about giving praise to things and there's nothing wrong with that, in fact if you've been on here for any length of time and that pisses you off then hey, I wonder if you should be here :D Seven could probably make a good critic. someday :D
  9. I'm sure my dad Sectioned himself?Wasn't me or my mom... Guess it could've been his other daughter but wouldn't have thought so...More a 'self harm' worry rather than danger to anyone else though.Edit: He was just being an attention seeking twat so I think it's possibly too easy to get yourself sectioned.

  10. Watched Near Dark again today.

    Thought... "I wonder if...."

Then 5 mins later found these:

Henrikson wants in on Near Dark Remake

    Near Dark Remake "Production Crew"

First reaction "YES!" if they don't rehash the original and make it a prequel/sequel then it could be quite good.

But I just get the feeling they are going to fuck it up.

    /sigh

    Edit:

Director - Samuel Bayer (done loads of music videos it appears...)

Producer - Michael Bay (Transformers etc)

Writers - Matt Venne (White noise 2: The light)

    Uh oh...

  11. Something else. The controlled explosions would have to have been 'planned' for the exact points that the planes would hit, which were two different areas on two different buildings, they'd also have to perfectly plan so the second building hit was the first building they detonated when the 'natural' way to have done it would be to have the first building fall.... Most demolitions take place at ground level. Plus if there were controlled explosions there would've been dust and flames blown outwards from where the explosions took place rather than dust simply falling and flames being sucked inwards by the collapsing buildings. Not to mention the charges would have to be set in an incredibly busy building without being noticed and if you work in a building every day like most of the people there you'd kinda notice or remember even if it was a year later...What people heard was floor after floor collapsing in on itself. Not a series of explosions.I'm no expert either. But two huge commercial jetliners crashed into two buildings, those buildings fell down. Why or how that happened you can discuss as much as you like. There were no missiles fired from the planes. There were no demolition charges set at the scene.

  12. The mouth and eyes don't look 'real' in any kind of way. Also the fur, animal fur usually has some kind of 'shape' to it, that fur is all over the place. Very much doubt it's real.Edit: Fox Facts "Bigfoot are rarely claimed to be agressive" I'm generally a bit of a skeptical bastard so I doubt things like this, if it is real I'll eat my toenail clippings.

I guess my toenail clippings are safe.Sorry you've not had what you wanted Woyz.
