It that £1 more per hour? I'd definitely raise it with my manager, seems a bit off to hire a new starter at a higher wage than someone already there. It's possible that the ad is in error though, I suppose.

They do it all the time. I came on at a higher wage than the others when I started, now we're desperate for staff again they upped the offer for new starters.

  2. Anyone have any advice on asking for a tiny raise when you’ve only had the job a few months?

As much as I’m loving my actual job and being back at work it’s a struggle. My place of work is under immense stress and it’s had a huge knock on my mental and physical health. We’re also going through massive financial difficulty at home.

They are advertising for the exact same role at £1 more than my current wage. I’m unsure how to go about asking for the new wage when I’ve not been there long (although as it stands I’m one of the longest members of night staff we have, it’s that bad at the moment).

Anyone been in a similar position?

  3. We spent the night at the hotel where the other half works, just so we can have a drink and not worry about driving home and a change of scenery. Lilou had the best day, she loves going to his work as they all love her and treat her like royalty. She also loves seeing all the regulars in the bar.

It’s possible, only further tests will tell. I’m calling my Dr in the morning for more tests anyway, as these tests were done in Southampton (that’s where my MS treatment is based) I need bloods done over here on the island so they can treat me if needed. The Solent is nothing but a ball ache when it comes to medical needs.

  5. Had anyone suffered liver damage since having Covid?

it was my medical treatment day today and my monitoring bloods were analysed. My liver returned an alarming result and Dr Google tells me that there have been cases of liver damage linked to having covid. Either that or there’s something else very wrong with me.

Anyone in particular you’re hoping to see?

Dont for a second think that I was judging you, if you want to go that’s your choice. I’ve been in years were they’ve had dodgy acts play. Didn’t watch the nonce one and wasn’t aware that the murder was in the band prior to the show

No no I didn’t think you were.

My holy grail is Dimmu Borgir. Cattle Decapitation and Jinjer are also incredible.

They’ve booked bands with convicted murders and alleged nonces in past years, they’ll get past Vicky being a social media idiot once enough time has past. It all depends on where you draw the line in terms of your own morals

I think I’m just gonna pray that my favourite bands do some dates in the UK outside of the festival.

  8. Covid allowed me to finally finish FFXIV: Endwalker. I must admit, it was slightly disappointing for me. It had such big shoes to fill after Shadowbringers so I didn’t get my hopes up too high. Some bits were great, others made me want to skip the cutscenes for yawning.

  9. Anyone going to Bloodstock this year?

I'm in two minds. It’s an awesome line up but the whole anti-trans etc controversy has left a massive sour taste in my mouth.
If they didn’t market themselves as a festival that’s welcoming of everyone it wouldn’t feel like such a slap in the face.

  10. We’re pretty inseparable, but when I’m poorly she bosses me around to rest, go to bed etc. she’s an angel and I don’t know what we would do without her. As I write this she’s snuggled right into my chest in bed 🥰

  11. Day 6, and unfortunately I’m getting worse and worse.

My neurologist called me today in a flap, I was supposed to have been contacted within 24hrs of my positive test to arrange going onto antiviral treatment straight away. After a whole day being messed around between my GP, 119, 111 and local out of hours it’s now being sorted, but they worry it could be too late as I’m 6 days in.
As well as the covid infection getting worse, my MS symptoms are also getting worse and I’m at massive risk of relapse as I couldn’t have my medical treatment last month. To say I’m bricking it is an understatement.
