  1. I remember it well. I still have my ticket, in fact. I was a huge mark for Sabu at the time, so seeing him live was a massive deal for me, and I wasn't disappointed.

I always look back at going to this show kind of being a precursor to me joining Hammerlock the following year.

It was also the first time I actually got to meet some of the guys I'd been tape trading with for a couple of years, like Darren Levy. I remember seeing Mark Allsopp (anyone remember him?) there as well, but I'd previously met up with him in Nottingham for trades. The day after the show I began an ECW video marathon which lasted about 48 hours straight, with the tapes I'd got from the guys I'd met up with at Walthamstow. Happy days! :)

  2. Whatever happened to "The Guvnor" Carl Conroy?

Bugger me, fame at last!

Now living back in Birmingham with my young family, after a number of years in Scotland.

Retired from wrestling last October to pursue a new vocation in all things spiritual, which I'm hoping to make a full-time career of eventually.

  3. Slightly embarassing moment yesterday when my little lad pointed at a dwarf in Tesco and shouted 'baby'!

Okay, so the embarassment was mostly me trying to contain my laughter in front of a clearly quite annoyed dwarf, but that's not the point! :)

  4. awww I love his name!! Really suits him!!!

Babies + swimming = best fun ever!

Thank you :) Eddie (well, Edward) is a family name. We were going to go with Ellie for a girl. Now everyone we know has named their kiddie Ellie.

With the swimming, we were worried he wouldn't like it, but he loved it. He didn't like his bath time to begin with, but he loves it now, especially now he's moved into the big bath.

  5. Just noticed this thread, as I'm only an occasional visitor to the forum these days....

Our little fella, Eddie, is just coming up for six months old now. He's generally very good and sleeps really well through the night. He's a very happy, content little boy and only really cries when there's something wrong. He's very close to talking and I don't think it'll be long before he says his first word. We've thought he's said 'hello' and 'yeah' a couple of times, so we'll see.

Here are a few pictures of the little man....

This wasn't deliberate. We were going to put the bib on him, dropped it and he started pulling faces, so we took pics.

  6. I've met Bravehart a few times. He's a really sound guy, and he seems to have put a lot into his company. It's a shame it's shit.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I can't resist commenting on this one.A really sound guy wouldn't make up and spread rumours about someone being a paedophile who's into 7 year old boys.
  7. first of all congratulations to the guvnor, big day for him I know you were disappointed not to make the shitarse 50 but i hope this is some consolation for you. Now just cash in on it like ronin and theres no stopping you.

I'm sure me and Odyssey will be main eventing at the Tokyo Dome in no time now. It's only politics that's stopped it happening before. Everything is politics!
  8. Im sad to see edd ferris on this as i found his match with liam thompson in stirling to be amazing.

    That'll be the explanation.
I haven't seen a great many of Edd's matches, but the matches he put on for us (WILD) in February were very good and he more than held up his end of the bargain. Liam Thompson is very good, but Edd's contributions to that match should not be underestimated.
  9. Does no one think its about time this thread was locked and put away to rest. Need to start moving on...

Yeah, need to sweep this under the carpet just like every other fucked up thing in wrestling.Wrestling fans are fucking ostriches.
Just the sort of mature and level headed reply you'd expect from a moderator. Well done
  10. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm sure looking forward to the next time a wrestler dies. I've wanted to learn about the correct usage of commas for some time now and, to me, that would seem an ideal time :)

  12. Dear Mr Sprules / Bailey / Potato Head,Having read this thread in its entirety I would like to enquire as to the possibility of getting back the last forty minutes of my life, as I feel this time has been wasted somewhat.Although I do not currently have anything useful to do with my time, I still feel I could have better used it to sit staring blankly at my feet, or possibly a puddle of water. As a result of this experience, I am sure I will be suffering disturbed sleep, nightmares, night terrors, night vision goggles, migraines, dizziness, vomiting, puking, being sick, and pretending to be a competent and well respected wrestler. And when I do, boy, there'll be trouble! Don't think there won't be!Please both reimburse my time and issue me a substantial cash payout, by means of compensation for this traumatic experience.Yours faithfully,Carl StewartThe Planet Earth (as in my location, not what I am)
