  1. Not the original ones, he didn't. Those were the Smackdown ones made for that tournament.

I thought he'd won the proper tag titles with The Rock during the Invasion, but that was Rock and Jericho.

Ah, I see what you mean now. The Tag Title history has become all kinds of confusing thanks to the WWE Tag Team/World Tag Team split and then the unification, it's difficult to know what's considered to be "official". I see that the Tag Titles which are currently in circulation aren't of the same lineage that iconic tag teams like The Hart Foundation, Demolition and LOD once held, which I think is a shame.

  2. I don't know or even care how old this may or may not be, but a friend introduced me to Day Job Orchestra this evening and I've been in floods of tears watching their re-dubbed Star Trek: The Next Generation videos. If you enjoyed the movie Kung Pow: Enter The Fist then this'll be right up your alley.

  3. I've been getting my girlfriend into Mystery Science Theater 3000 lately so as a special treat she downloaded Twilight with a RiffTrax commentary that someone had kindly synced up and uploaded to a Torrent site. She read the first few chapters of the Twilight novel and despised it while I despised the novel and its fanbase without reading it to save time, but we thought we'd try out RiffTrax and watch the film to see what the fuss was about.

    Fuck.

If you watched this film and genuinely enjoyed it then you need to die. No joke, totally serious, if you enjoy Twilight then you should kill yourself, and if you have a friend or relative who enjoys Twilight then you have a duty to kill them too. This "film" is horrible, everything from the dialogue to the cinematography to the actors to the so-called "visual effects" was just appalling, I can't even begin to understand how this vampire-themed masturbatory aid even became a novel let alone a series of movies. I've seen a lot of shit movies in my life but Twilight, just saying the word make me want to vomit, is the only movie that I've ever seen that made me drop to my knees and pray for the end of the human species. I don't care if it's a natural disaster, some kind of nuclear holocaust or even the fire and brimstone shindig described in the book of Revelations; kill all humans now. Remember how the plot of Constantine revolved around God and Lucifer having a wager over the souls of all mankind? Remember how neither true angels nor demons can manifest on Earth, but they are allowed to possess and influence humans? Yeah, well, Stephanie Mayer is a human possessed by a fucking demon under the watchful eye of Lucifer. Her mission on Earth is to make millions from her shitty novels thus destroying the credibility of the written word, which will be the first step in a calculated attempt by Lucifer to plunge humanity back into another intellectual dark age and win his wager with God. Stephanie Mayer is the first, but mark my words she will not be the last. May God have mercy on us all.

  4. Im not really sure what the crack is here, people are showcasing their own tunes from what i can see.. To form a collective?

To cut a long story short: People make tunes, the people who've made tunes share tips and give advice to others so they can make tunes of their own. Hopefully people will start collaborating with others to make new tunes and our little scene will flourish.

I'm really happy with what has been achieved so far and look forward to seeing what comes next.

  5. Admittedly I was listening to Burial a lot yesterday but I didn't set out to make a Burial track per-se, his beats sound simple but I'll be damned if I can make anything even remotely similar. I hate trying to do drums, it's an absolute fucking nightmare. You don't have to use the stillreal.mp3 sample btw, the only reason I did was because I needed a sample and that one it was right there on my desktop.

If anyone's curious I arranged the entire track in Audacity.

  6. Okay, to get the ball rolling I've uploaded an unfinished track that I've been working on since yesterday. It's nothing fancy and so far it's only a lick under a minute and a half, there's a lot of things I need to change (the drums, what a nightmare) and I clearly don't know dick about mastering but I think it's getting there and it's much better than I hoped it would be.

    [lightbreaker] - "Gratitude (Preview)"

  7. The idea here is to form a little scene. Let's say for the sake of argument that I uploaded a track, someone listens to it and says "I liked your track, but how did you make X sound like Y?", I show them how I did the thing and they go away and apply the technique to their work. Meanwhile, someone else listens to my track and thinks "That was crap, I could make something much better" and hopefully does.

What I hope is that a couple of months down the line we'll have people remixing each others work, individuals buddying up with each other to collaborate and people who never imagined that they could make music making their own music. That's my ultimate goal here.

  8. Can we use other songs? or is it make your own tune and add the sample?

The idea is to make your own music, I only threw the sample idea out there to give people a potential starting point.

  9. Cool. Only way to get better is to do more! But what I meant was like what kind of music and do you play an instrument or programme electronic music and use synths adn stuff and what equipment you use..? I was quite interested because there's such a wide range of music that you listen to.

That's kinda what this thread is about, I've seen people talking about wanting to make music but lacking confidence or motivation and I thought this would be a great way of getting those people, and myself, doing something. I predominantly use software, specifically Audacity, GarageBand and Linux Multimedia Studio, although I have an old mobile phone with a reasonably decent microphone which I use to capture sounds while I'm out and about. I'd rather spend hours manipulating and arranging samples than try and play a guitar.

Whenever I make a track, or to put it more accurately begin making a track which will inevitably end up abandoned in my "Project" folder, I try not to set out to make anything specific, saying "I want to make a track that sounds like x" tends to lead to frustration and disappointment. I think it's more interesting to start with a completely blank slate and just see what forms.

  10. Would like to take part, but have no technical knowhow whatsoever. I only sing, don't play any instruments to any adequate degree, and don't have any particularly great recording facilities.

Expensive equipment isn't necessary. What's important is making something that you like out of whatever you can use.

  11. I don't think anyone's expecting to create a masterpiece but what I hope is that someone manages to make something interesting then shares their techniques with others so that they can be inspired to make something themselves. Basically what I hope is that a tech/moral support network will gradually form.
