  1. FX UK is re-branding and will be called Fox from January. What, if anything, this will mean in the grand scheme of things I don't know.

    FX Evolves To Become FOX

From January, FX will be known as FOX and will be giving you even more unmissable new series!

FOX viewers will still be able to watch the UK premieres of their favourite series currently airing on FX including NCIS, The Walking Dead, Falling Skies, Dexter, True Blood, American Horror Story and more. Channel premieres such as Family Guy will also remain.

To reflect an ever-expanding audience however, we

  2. Talking of post counts, how many posts did Dave Pick have when he left the UKFF for pastures new?

I recall it being a staggering amount. So much so that for years after leaving he still topped the post count league table. Tis a shame really that his account ended up getting deleted in one of the inactive username purges.

  3. I'm currently watching season 2 of Homeland at the Channel 4 pace, and I think it may be the best show on TV. I liked the first season but it took me a while to get started on the second one (I had a few episodes stock piled on my Sky Plus). Once I got going though I blitzed through them. It's got a really intriguing premise and they have managed to keep it going with twists and turns without it feeling over the top in the way that 24 did as time went on. Plus, Damien Lewis is tremendous as Sgt. Brody.

  4. I'm interested in how Rau'shee Warren is going to do as a pro. He's an American who went to three Olympics and failed to get past the first round on all three occasions. He did though win a gold at the World Amateur Championships in 2007 and a bronze in both 2005 and 2011. Despite going to three Olympics he's only twenty-five. He turned pro earlier this month and won his debut by unanimous decision - according to BoxRec he did get knocked down in the fourth (it was a four round fight). However the AP report says that the knockdown was debatable and a report in USA Today says...

...Bantamweight Warren was first up, and the three-time Olympian, who came away with zero medals for his efforts, scored a unanimous decision against Luis Rivera (1-3). Warren, from Cincinnati, went down in the fourth round, but replays showed it was from swinging and missing against Rivera. He was never hit...

    Warren's record at Box Rec...

  5. As Steve Collins is one of the Sky pundits tonight I decided to look his record up on BoxRec, and I ended up looking at the records of some of his contemporaries as well. From Collins I got to Mike McCallum (Collins lost to him by unanimous decision in a WBA World middleweight title challenge back in '90). From McCallum I got to James Toney (who beat McCallum by unanimous decision back in '97) and from Toney I got to Michael Nunn (Toney won his first world title by stopping Nunn back in 1991; Toney was actually behind on the cards when he got the stoppage in the eleventh round).

I knew Nunn had got himself into some trouble in the early 00's and got a hefty sentence. I wondered if he was getting released anytime soon. So, I looked him up on the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator as I knew it was an in an FBI sting where he came a cropper. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator Michael Nunn is not getting out anytime soon. His Actual or Projected Release Date is January 3, 2024.

  6. I find myself very interested in the Seth Mitchell/Johnathan Banks fight on the Broner undercard. I think it should go a ways to telling how good Seth Mitchell is. I've seen Banks a lot as he's one of Wlad's sparring partners (he actually worked the corner last weekend and ran Wlad's camp in Manny Stewart's absence) and pops up on a lot of Klit undercards. He's a pretty slick boxer and at times looks very, very good.Other times he seems to be lacking something and can look almost disinterested. He can sometimes look great and terrible all in the same fight.

  7. Yeah, Wach was tough. A lot of people would have been stopped.

On the ESPN post show wrap up Steve Bunce had Tim Witherspoon and Frank Malony in the studio to talk about the fight. When Tim Witherspoon said that he thought that Manny Stewart not being in the corner may have affected Wlad slightly Frank came back with this...

You see, I disagree with that. They
