  1. ...~ These words were written by a reporter who witnessed the accident. The girl, as she died, was saying these words and the reporter wrote them down... very overwhelmed. The journalist started this campaign, if you read this note, please click "share", so more people can be aware. Therefore, I ask one small gesture, send it to your friends, family and loved ones....

    I have my doubts.

  2. I would imagine that it's pretty much impossible to stop prisoners exercising. Sure you can take away the gym but if some fucker wants to spend his days doing a 1000 press ups and other improvised exercises then there is very little you can do to stop him.

Going slightly off topic, if the internet is to be believe Mike Tyson never did weighs seriously until after he went to prison for rape. So, if you have lots of time (which prisoners do) and the right genetics you can turn yourself into a physical specimen with a very small amount of equipment.

  3. Spoilers for Mr Slice's Australian adventure...

It was a really fun fight. It does raise questions about where you go with Kimbo. I mean, he almost got himself KOed by a chap who, let's put it nicely, is not a exactly a world beater. I don't want to be mean about Mr Slice, but there are decent domestic level heavyweights who would beat him easily. For instance, I have no doubt in my mind that John McDermott would fucking kill him. Where you go with a guy who goes tooth and nail with a 6-6 Australian club fighter I have no idea. The moment you step Kimbo up he's done, and you won't even have to step him up that far before he gets his clock cleaned.

If you told me that Kimbo was fighting Paul Butlin then I would bet on Paul Butlin.

  4. The video of Vitali Klitschko getting KOed in a kickboxing bout by Pele Reid has surfaced online. It's from 1992. I had heard about it for years but had never seen the video before.

  5. It seems that some young ruffian swore at Steve Bunce and, Bunce says, spat at his wife. It happened when Bunce was watching his son play rugby against an opposing school. Though the school that the young ruffian attends disputes Bunce's version of events.

The Daily Mail article contained one interesting bit of information.

  6. I watched the whole of The Killing Series 1 in 3/4 days. It's brilliant. Starting Borgen Series 2 on Saturday.

I've been thinking about giving The Killing a go. Is there a big difference between the American and Danish versions in terms of quality? Ideally I liked to watch the American remake but if the Danish version is significantly better then I'd be willing to give that a go.

  7. Somewhere in the region of 15 stone. I think, think I may have dropped below 15 for a brief period. I haven't weighed myself since summer but would imagine I'm back up at around 16 stone now. This will change. I will be a BEAST.

Big difference from when I weighed almost 22 stone!

Sure is. I managed to track down two of the pictures you posted previously. These were posted by yourself on this very forum in 2008, and the image hosting sites you used back then are still hosting them. I used those links to embed the pictures. So, if you hate them then you probably still have the power (assuming that you remember the passwords) to make them disappear from the interweb.

  8. ShortOrderCook is the best looking guy I've seen on any forum ever. Christ you're fit.

Isn't there someone else who looks like a male model as well? I forget who it is.

Edit: I just checked the name change log and I was thinking of purplemokeydishwasher - who, of course, is now known as ShortOrderCook.

  9. The days of giant muscle men who try and emulate the likes of Hogan and Goldberg were definitely left behind us in 2012. Rock would seem out of place in the needle in the arse free would of WWE these days. Especially with Dolph Ziggler as the new face of the company.

I wouldn't go that far. Ryback received the biggest push of the year, and, though we tend to lose sight of it, John Cena is fucking huge as well. Maybe not 80's Hogan huge but he's still a big, big dude.

  10. Jesus, Rocky looks jacked. He looks almost Ultimate Warrior like. I wonder how much is he weighing.

Also, Meltzer's daily update yesterday had a note from a guy who knows some people who work out at the gym that The Rock is currently using.

--Reader Andy Thurston noted Dwayne Johnson was in Boston this week training at a gym just outside the city and noted that three guys he worked with met him there. He said he was nice to everyone as long as they didn't bother him while he was lifting, and they said he's doing a lot of squats and averaging two to two-and-a-half hours each day training.
  11. I've been watching Misfits on Netflix,. They have the first two series up, and I'm up to to the penultimate episode of series two. Series one through four are up at 4oD. So, it I want to watch series three and four I'm going to have to fire up 4oD and suffer the indignity of being forced to sit through adverts. I think I will end up doing that as I really like the show.

Without knowing much about the show, I had always dismissed it as a British Heroes rip-off and assumed that it would be shoddy. A bad copy done on the cheap. I was wrong. It's a really fun show. I watched, I think, the first two seasons of Heroes. I liked season one but thought that the show somewhat lost it's way after that.

My main criticism of Heroes though would be that, Jesus Christ, did that show take itself too seriously. Misfits on the other hand is done with a sense of humor - it seems to owe a lot to Heroes (the basic premise is essentially exactly the same - normal folks manifest superpowers after a a freak event) but I think the whole thing is done much better. The narrower scope works in Misfits favour - ain't no one trying to be leader of the Free World they are instead mainly just trying to get through the day. Plus, the idea of centering the show around a group of young offenders who get superpowers while doing community service is a very intriguing starting point, and I like the fact that some of the main characters aren't especially good people but at the same point aren't evil. They are just the kind of pricks you meet in everyday life.
