  1. Saw Around the world in 80 Religions last night for the 1st time, it crams in a lot but some good moments like getting butt naked with the red Indians in the 'sweat'! And got to learn more about the Burning Man Festival I'd seen featured on an episode of Malcolm in the Middle.

Plus One was another fun episode last night on Channel 4. Is he ever going to find his plus 1for the wedding?? :)

As educational as it is, he seemed like a man who just wasn't really bothered.

The "it's just mad" comment sort of annoyed me when talking about the spiritualists.

Although he doesn't believe in it, what exactly makes it mad as this is simply something people choose to believe because of their own experiences.

    Good and enlightening show though.

Perhaps ultimately the format of the programme lets it down squeezing so much in, meaning they can't give each belief much time. Though the bit on the spiritualists he ought to have said more when you consider he experienced it and not just watched a seance on most haunted. He could of told us wether it was all a work or whatever from taking part. As you say people choose to believe in it because of their own experiences.

I didn't realise America was so religiously diverse.

  3. Enjoyed Plus One on Channel 4 last night, pretty funny. Seen the lead actor in something else before on bbc 3 I think, set in Blackpool which was quite dark so interesting to see him play a full on comedy part.

Lovin Only Fools and Horses on GOLD :) , I didn't really watch it a lot first time around apart from the Xmas specials.

  4. I'll have see it, sounds really good.

I saw Forbidden Kingdom last night on DVD, loved it! Good to see a Kung Fu movie made more for a family audience, just 2 swear words. Anyway it had great action scenes in it as you'd expect and especially cool to feature both Jackie Chan and Jet Li plus it linked in with the King Monkey legend.:ninja::yinyang:

  5. Following on from the Nativity programme and other similar biblical documentaries is the History of Christianity on Channel 4 Sunday evenings, what the wife calls boring but I am a total geek over :) It covers some of the same stuff as what I watched over Xmas on Channel 4 and Channel 5. Pretty soon I'll be a biblical expert after absorbing all this ;)

The first was quite an eye opener about the origins of antisemitism.

4400 pilot - never seen the series but saw the pilot the other day on Sky2 and quite like it. Will give the series a go if I catch it on.

Celebrity Big Brother - how can you not watch it eh? BB lures me in every time lol

Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe - it's new to me so guess I'm playing catch up on this one. I recall a thread on it which doesn't surprise me now I've seen the programme. It does seem like a programme that would appeal to many of the members of the ukff.

IT Crowd - something else quite new to me and I'm lovin' it! Just watched all of series 2 having taped off More4.

  6. Got Batman the Dark Knight for Xmas and watched it this afternoon and was really disapointed after all the talk about it being so good. Batman sounded like flippin Phil Mitchell :p

The film was too long and drawn out, the Batman actor was crap, no Bat Cave, no Wayne Manor and the film was too serious. I didn't like the Joker either really even though he was meant to be so good in the role. I prefer the Tim Burton vision of Batman where it was more gothic rather than just violent and horrible. Why did Batman even go to Hong Kong and there be no Kung Fu?

I used to collect comics and a friend of mine put down the Spiderman films who still collects them but the Spidey series has been much better than the 2 new Batman films.

I'll watch it again and give it another go but it just wasn't as good as it ought to have been. If you'd never seen a Batman film before you might like it but most people have and we know who Two Face and the Joker are so they needed to have thought about continuity from the last films. You can always bring back the villains whatever happens.

  7. Lovin the old On The Buses film from the 70s on tonight.

There's a few programmes on about the holy lands and biblical times that I find interesting, there was one on earlier on Channel 5 about the Knights Templar.

There is one on about Pagans aswell as an alternative to the rest about the nativity.

  8. Last Man Standing was a good 'un! They were wrestling at a huge show in India with the westerners as the main attraction on the bill. The American submission fighter was well suited to the wrestling but got injured in the training and never made it on the competition. The poor yanks haven't fared well at all. Next week is the last of the series and it looks like Ed could be the winner.

I caught a bit of Inbetweeners last night on Channel 4 which looks pretty funny.

I enjoy watching The Big Bang Theory but looks like it's on E4 but can't see as we can't get it properly with Sky :(

Wonder if it can be fixed so we can receive E4 OK? E4 and More4 are the only channels that don't work properly for us.

  9. At last managed to find the thread, surely I should be able to find a topic I started easier than that!

Anyway since I've bumped it what are you watching on telly?

For me it's still Last Man Standing (Tuesdays) and Heroes (Wednesdays) plus been watching the Ascent of Money which is on Channel at 8pm on a Monday.

There seems to be a lack of comedies at the moment so good thing I bought Mighty Boosh series 3 for the wife's b'day ;)

  10. Saw This England- good, grim British film, surprised it's on telly when it's barely 2 years old.

I'm not sure how accurate they were with the lads wearing their Ben Shermans with the top button done up. When I was into skinhead stuff I never knew anyone doing the top button up, but that seems to fashionable very recently with mod inspired trends.

Channel 4 are showing their own films the next couple of nights. Tonight - Brick Lane and then The Joe Strummer story(not actual title).
