  1. Can confirm the tiger has been airlifted to hospital too.
  2. But enough about the UKFF, we're talking about Letterboxd here.
  3. A match winning knock, especially for an actress in a Hitchcock film.

    Viz

Viz magazine is one of the best things this country has ever produced and has brought me countless hours of joy. Mostly while having a big shit. I still find hidden gems when looking at old issues, most recently Benjamin Britten and his Embittered Bittern, which I managed to miss the first time around. What are your favourite strips, segments etc. Hard to top the below.
  5. Possibly being a bit presumptuous in setting this thread up. It's possible that no one famous will die this year.
  6. Get your bucket hat on and lead the pub in a heartfeld rendition of Wonderwall because Oasis are back and people are going MAD FER IT. Always the Mongo McMichael of the 4 Horsemen of Britpop behind Pulp, Blur and Suede in my eyes. Good on them for absolutely coining it in with this though. Anyone remortgaged the house to go?
  7. Things that you know will be terrible before you watch them/listen to them. Inspired by this forthcoming show straight from Alan Partridge's dictaphone.
  8. Spotted while having a browse on Wikipedia. I would have changed my name to Roy Jones too. What are great names you have come across? My favourite in my friend circle is the mighty Asher von Hippel, a name I can only imagine his (German) Dad and (Indian) Mum designed after each being given half naming rights and deciding upon it entirely in isolation from each other.
  9. A thread for me, HG and probably Chilli. Definitely King Coconut too. One of the best things I have seen in the past couple of months is the Play That Goes Wrong. Slapstick absurdity and a set that collapses lots, it's top. Also saw a horrendous production of Winter's Tale the week before last. Up its own arse to an absurd extent. The entire crux of the play is that Leonetes is supposed to not be sullied to the extent that he can't be resurrected in the second act. You had Leonetes here playing Phil Mitchell. Going mental every three seconds, punching his child, kneeing his wife in the gut, beating the shit out of his mates, shouting randomly. I don't know why the director felt that this was meant to make me like him in the second act. The best part of the play was when they did this bit showing Leonetes' dead wife on the screen, lot like Taker after he got put in the casket in '93. But the technician fucked it up, so while Leonetes is blubbing and wailing as per, the screen says 'TEST, TEST. PLEASE INSERT WIRE'. I've got Mikado in a fortnight, same all male cast who I saw do Pinafore last year and they were outstanding. Very much looking forward to it. What are you watching in the theatre? Is it good, is it bad?
  10. All purpose place to moan about how shit the weather is. It's as British as Winston Churchill ragging The Queen on the bonnet of E-type while gnawing on silverside. Elgar would probably be playing on the radio or something. I'm beginning to understand these Daily Mail headlines that prophecy death and pestilence every time the temperature deviates from about 18 degrees, because I am fucking melting. I went for a light jog earlier and lost 2 lbs. I'm getting through three pairs of boxers a day due to the truly offensive levels of sweat I'm producing. My office doesn't have air conditioning and I can't deal with it. I'm going to buy enough fans to produce a device capable of flying me to Lundy Island tomorrow. Anyone else having weather woes in this heat?
