  1. So no chance of Big Dave and Impact being two in a bed? If you two do decide to give a go though, then let Tony look after you otherwise you might lose your darts, tankards and even your BFH.

You've got until the board spins round to give your answer.

I'll knock the bullseye "jokes" on the head now.

  2. One of the biggest issues with Sami's underdog gimmick is he doesn't look like an underdog and he isn't going against the establishment, only to be knocked down time and time again.

He's billed at 6"1, which is taller than both Jericho and Owens who are both six nothing. He's currently feuding with the fella who wants real competition, Sami Zayn is filling the void for real competition whereas somebody like James Ellsworth on SmackDown filled the void of underdog against AJ Styles.

  3. Eddie Guerrero's ECW debut for the TV Title against 2 Cold Scorpio.

The match came about because Scorpio beat Eddie's brother, Hector, a few weeks beforehand. They made Eddie out to be a huge star throughout the match and the crowd was very much behind him, when they weren't chanting "fuck Sabu".

Very technical bout, very enjoyable match and Eddie's victory leads into the famed feud with Dean Malenko.

  4.

Am I missing something because it's not Haas and Benjamin, it's American Alpha.

They've got CG (Chad Gable) and JJ (Jason Jordan) on their knee pads.

They're essentially the same act is what I think people are getting at.

    Ah right.

    Cheers for the heads up!

  5. Kindly highlight the parts of my post where I:

    a) said only women with one name had ever been demeaned,

    You said the following;

it's probably the most demeaning aspect of the way Divas have been presented over the years

In your opinion it's more demeaning for Lita to be called just Lita than Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Gurrero - two women both going by their full names and representing two of the biggest wrestling families in the history of the sport - to be wrestling in a mud wrestling match. The fact you still refer to them as "divas" is much more demeaning as they're doing everything in their power to be known as women and/or superstars in their own right.

Now if you don't believe it's only women with one name who have been demeaned, how the fuck is having just one name the most demeaning thing to a woman in the world of wrestling?

    b) said no woman with one name had ever been successful (by whatever measure you choose),

Which proves the point that it isn't demeaning. As I said last night/this morning if you're given the right material, the right breaks and you have the right amount of talent then having a single name isn't going to affect you. Hence why your post was a load of tosh.

    c) placed men in the same context, because lord knows they've always been viewed as equal by WWE.

You didn't place them in the same context, which is what you're accusing WWE of doing so themselves. If something is demeaning to a woman, it's demeaning to a man. That's how equality works. If you're complaining that the most demeaning thing to female wrestlers is going by one name, then that is the most demeaning thing to happen to Rusev, Cesaro, Neville and every other single name male wrestler as well.

You've taken my point to extremes when that's not how general patterns and attitudes work. There are exceptions to every rule but that doesn't mean it's not an influence.

No I took your point on face value and proved them to be a load of tosh. Now stop digging the hole any deeper will you.

Since you want to play this game though, how many credible male WWE Superstars can you list who have been officially known by just an ordinary forename, like Dave or Jim or Kevin - not gimmicks like Yokozuna and Undertaker?

There's five world champions who spring instantly to mind; given a bit of thinking time I could probably rattle off a few more but I really can't be arsed continuing this rather one sided debate any longer.

    Kane

    Sheamus

    Christian

Andre The Giant (The Giant isn't a surname to the best of my knowledge)

Samoa Joe (again Samoa, to the best of my knowledge, isn't a forename)

  6. Surnames for the women have been a long time coming. Despite all the mud matches and bikini contests, it's probably the most demeaning aspect of the way Divas have been presented over the years - that it's irrelevant what their full name is, they're just Victoria and Layla and Emma, no need to bother learning the rest because they're no more than a conveyor belt of lovelies to shake their bums and giggle before the serious athletes come back on.

    What a load of tosh.

One of the most guilty for being there solely because of how she looked was Trish Stratus - certainly initially. She was there for sex appeal and nothing else. Somebody with two names (shock horror!). For large parts of wrestling history, all women have been there "to shake their bum and giggle" whether they had one name or two.

Also it hasn't done any harm to Charlotte herself or Bayley, who may be the biggest star NXT has ever had. With the right material, the right breaks and the right amount talent, then a single name isn't going to affect you. And if it's demeaning to women to only have one name, it's surely demeaning to the men who have to go by just a single name. As for "learning" the rest of the name, was anybody arsed that Hulk Hogan is really called Terry? Why should fans need to "learn" the rest of an athlete's name? Is anybody looking back on Lita's career thinking "fucking hell she'd of done a lot better if she was known as Lita Smith"? Or The Fabulous Moolah would have had an even better career if she was The Fabulous Moolah Jones? Or that Sunny didn't do half as well as she should have, she needed to be called Sunny Day to really hit the heights.

Also in this world, some of the most successful women on the planet are known by just a single name. Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, Pink.

Women wrestlers with one name is not demeaning in the slightest.

  7. RAW really is the pits right now. And given the talent at their disposal it really shouldn't be.

Jericho, Owens and Rollins arguing over a list. And just because she has to be involved, let's throw Steph out there as well. It had potential to turn into something more substantial with Rollins claiming Steph and Owens were on the list but alas it turned back to sillyness. It had potential to turn into something more substantial with Jericho being threatened to be suspended but alas it turned back into nothing. Jericho, has been the greatest thing on WWE recently, but taking him off telly for a few weeks with a "suspension" might have done them the world of good. It also might have let Owens branch out a bit more on his todd. Oh and the eventual triple threat main event was extremely missable.

Enzo and Cass remain as over as they've ever been. Doing their introduction with the mic was great, of course WWE will now do that every week to the point of it being predictable and losing it's shine. Gallows and Anderson need to fuck off to SmackDown and rejoin AJ Styles as quickly as humanly possible.

I really didn't understand why Cesaro and Sheamus are fighting New Day, less than a week away from them fighting each other again on pay-per-view. If you needed Cesaro and Sheamus to get a win and show some unity, then have them go over Golden Truth (who have one of the best entrances with the Goldust face bouncing over R-Truth's words) or some other irrelevant tag team. We're not going to suddenly forget that Cesaro and Sheamus are feuding with New Day over the Tag Titles just because they're not in the same ring throughout the entirety of the feud.

Bayley and Dana was something different at least. And both of them played their roles well. Dana was a bitch, Bayley was a great babyface.

I rather enjoyed Dallas beating Axel more than I should have. I just hope this goes somewhere for at least one of them. Bo has been getting the push for a while so it's got to eventually turn into something of note, Axel really should be put in that Mr Imperfect gimmick somebody suggested on here the other day.

Who's arsed by Golden Truth (with Mark Henry) against the Shining Stars (with Titus)? Golden Truth could have been thrown against Cesaro and Sheamus. Shining Stars could have got murdered by Reigns to make him look dominant going into Hell in a Cell rather than those shit pre-recorded bollocks he and Rusev "delivered". And is Titus done with Darren Young? Is he great again yet?

Contract signing was the usual shite as well. Foley telling us all about the danger of Hell in a Cell. We know Mick, you've told us for the last decade and then some. And neither Sasha or Charlotte are interesting enough for me to care what they have to say.

The poor old cruiserweights eh? Have the best wrestling show in WWE a couple of months back, move to the main roster and nobody cares any more. Perkins was great in the Cruiserweight Classic, now he just comes across like everybody else. Kendrick still has some entertainment value, while Swann is great. But there's no buzz around the entire division. Dead in the water.

Zayn standing up to Strowman was the best thing on the show. It's a simple David v Goliath story, they don't even have to write anything good for this. The contrast in the two wrestlers is the story in itself. They can't possibly fuck it up - so, naturally, I'm expecting them to.

The Lesnar/Heyman promo was laughable for all the wrong reasons.

    Overall, a pretty shit RAW.

  8.

Goldberg versus Hogan at WrestleMania to crown the very first Wednesday's Championship Wrestling champion. Sting as special guest referee, Nash as special guest ring announcer, Hall as special guest time keeper and Booker T as the special guest token black bloke.

Surely Flair should be in there somewhere as well?

Nah Flair is busy with Cena to determine the very first 17 time World champion.

  9. Goldberg versus Hogan at WrestleMania to crown the very first Wednesday's Championship Wrestling champion. Sting as special guest referee, Nash as special guest ring announcer, Hall as special guest time keeper and Booker T as the special guest token black bloke.

  10. The episode of ECW where we got "The debut...no the birth of The Raven"

Couple of noticeable points from that episode, 2 Cold Scorpio should never have been allowed near a microphone. How the fuck did Kevin Sullivan get a bird like Woman (Nancy)? And why the fuck was Hack Meyers so over with the ECW crowd?

On the plus side, Malenko and Benoit looked like the vicious cunts they were portrayed as. Stevie Richards was entertaining again. Joey Styles was great on commentary.

  11. Ramsey's USA Wrestling Nightmares coming to you on Channel 4 in the New Year.

World renowned chef, Gordon Ramsey, has saved many failing kitchens both in his homeland of Britain and here in the States. He moved that on to trying to save failing hotels. And now, in his latest venture, the former Glasgow, Scotland, soccer player will try and save a failing wrestling company.

The owner is completely incompetent, the staff haven't been paid in months and the paying customer isn't paying anymore.  Stay tuned for Gordon's most difficult task yet, saving Total Non-stop Action from liquidation.

  12.

Be interesting to see what Goldberg looks like next week too. Looked okay in the 2K17 video, but it was a bit shadowy. Does he Just For Men the beard or go all Bad Santa with it?

I know this has been discussed before, but that is the likely end game with Lesnar? I assume that he beats Goldberg then fights Shane at the Rumble or Mania. Surely they are not stupid enough to have Shane beat him. Are we looking at Lesnar/Reigns again at Mania? Are we going to get Joe or Nakamura promoted to the main roster and get a rocket attached to them by beating Lesnar? Would WWE then be able to maintain the momentum a Nakamura or a Joe would have if they beat Lesnar (or would they just be back to 50/50 booking soon after)?

Nah, Lesnar loses at Mania to the returning Finn Balor with the tagline Beast versus Demon

  13. Ric Flair will end up in the feud between Styles and Cena, probably siding with AJ to prevent Cena tying his 16 World championships.

He has history with AJ, which they'll probably be showing in a few weeks time anyway once they've bought TNA's video library. They've gone on about Cena equalling the record for so long now. And they've got an obsession with throwing Ric on our screens every couple of months anyway.

Cena will win the title to equal the record in the next three months before losing it back to Styles at the Rumble due to help from Flair. Bryan and Shane will strip the title off AJ because of the underhanded tactics he used, leaving a vacant title going into WrestleMania.

And all this is leading to a Cena/Flair match at WrestleMania to determine who the greatest of all time really is and the first 17 time World champion.
