I made the death pool comment. It was pretty much made out of the same emotional reaction as you described - in my mind he still looked the same as he did back on TV years ago and it was just a bit of a shock to see him like that.

 

I really don't think the comments require Mr Coconut's expert over-analyisis.

Other than looking a bit older and fatter, I don't see what all the fuss is about with the Fuji pic. I'm more worried by the fact that Brutus has obviously just eaten Popeye and then eaten a tin of spinach. His head probably exploded right after that picture was taken.

His PR for this album has pretty much hinged on one sentence; 'if Led Zep and Pink Floyd can have ten minute tracks, why can't I?'. He's used that line everywhere.

German winter food is fucking divine.

There's plenty of food that hasn't made it over. A week in a typical French, Dutch or German family will probably consist of 4-5 things you've never eaten before. Most of it cack, of course, but each to his own.

I get by with water and sunshine. I daresay I could get larger, sweeter, hotter, brighter or shinier peppers if I went about it in a professional way but it's not necessary for my needs.

A mate of mine gave me a plant about 8 years ago and it lived on my kitchen windowsill. It grew a treat and the peppers were lovely. Since then I pick up a plant whenever I see one and I usually have one in the kitchen and a couple in the garden. My Pimientos de Padron last year were fan-fucking-spastic and I did nothing with them except plop them in the garden and water them whenever I remembered.

He's right though. On the whole they are utter shit and I think it's quite reasonable to dismiss a whole genre on the basis of its recent history. We're not in any way forced to watch films. It's an entirely voluntary act and we should be able to choose which films we watch based on whatever criteria we choose.

I, like most men, dismiss romantic comedies immediately. It's the job of the romantic comedy to prove me wrong. I owe the genre nothing. I'd say the same applies to all things artistic.

I always have one or two chilli plants on the go. I never give them any special attention and they seem to not particularly give a fuck. That's a plant-human relationship I can live with.

She's looking a bit rough in that one, if I'm honest. Not that that would bother me too much if she fancied going for a drink.

Sounds like a reasonable possibility and one I can believe. It just sounded like you might have seen some confirmation of it somewhere, which I'd also have liked to see.
