  1. The base principles of protests are justified, inequality and how the gap between the rich & poor is growing, but there has to be a form of economic differences in modern society, alright at the moment it's wider than it probably should be, but as long ad the rich and the corporations are making good money it won't change & it can't.

The only way it would work is through the political system.

Sadly I think too many people have seen how the events unfolded in Egypt & seem to think the same thing could (should?) happen in our societies. However while they were fighting for freedom and democracy, the western protests don't have that kind of radical change on the horizon to support them.

  2. Would you say that's kind of a problem with street protests generally, mickey?

Not really, regular street protests are usually marches, but when you occupy a space there should be a clear reason behind it & hope it leads to change or even a negotiation.

But these folks just seem to be there, nothing seems to be happening at all.

  3. Anyway, from what it seems to be presented as the protesters are anti-capitalist and protesting against the big bad corperations with their greed and slave labour, but have no problem contributing their cash to them.

It all Comes across as a big hypocritical really

  4. 75 days until the Christmas special, apparently...

Which (I don't think this has been mentioned here) will feature Bill Bailey and Alexander Armstrong.

Also Claire Skinner & Arabella Weir.

  5. Well, yes and no, we went in very hard and had the Taliban out in a month or so, then should have came a tatical Taliban elimination, defence & restructuring of Afghanistan. It didn't work that way, we should have fucking buried them in Tora Bora as it was clear that either that happened or Bin Laden was out of Afghanistan into Pakistan (which was correct obviously) so a 6 month at most war hyas turned into this debacle. And for what it's worth the positive spin of the new free Afghanistan isn't all that correct, most Afghans didn't want to be ruled under the Taliban, but they were not/are not happy about us being there & like Iraq we've plunged a country into a dangerous battleground.Taking the Taliban out of power was a step in the right direction but as long as they have dedicated fighters Afghanistan will be a dangerous place for a long time.

  6. Not really, we had to show a strong front against them, even though after about 6 months it was clear going into Afghanistan was a toral waste of time.

It was clear after six months that we weren't going to "win" you mean.
That's the thing, win what exactly???It was a failure from day 1
  7. Watched 3 films today!BlitzThe Statham kicking some ass! Started excellent, dragged on a bit, great ending. Lot slower paced than his usual flicks but still good.WhiteoutHad it knocking about for over a year, thought I'd give it a watch, it was well, ok I suppose, nothing great but still watchable.Triangle LOVED IT! Love Mellissa George too!Enjoyed it and loved the ending :)

  8. Bragg was playing his usual soft headed role though, making it sound like the authorities are taking jailed immigrants out after they've served their sentence and putting bullets in their heads, instead of sending them back to the country they came from as they've abused their privilege of living in the UK.Nobody is taking away their human rights, just denying them a privilege.
